Hi! If the o-ring is loose, you'll want to replace it because it could shift during install and that will guarantee a leak.. If it is still tight enough that it'll stay in place when reinstalling, you might be okay since it'll get compressed during installation.
I did mine and it started to leak 2 weeks later, I'm not sure whts wrong but I'm thinking it's the rubber o rings that go on the small part that gos in the engine but idk, I put on the the new gasket with gasket sealer/maker so I don't think it's it's water pump itself any tips?
Sorry for the slow reply! I missed your comment. The O-rings on the pipe that pushes into the block are a common trouble spot. I've seen a couple where it was obvious the outer one got changed, but not the inner. And since pulling the pump off moves that little pipe around, it can unseat the O-ring and it might not reseal because, well, it is worn and flat. That's the first place I'd look! As a side note, with a new gasket on the pump, a liquid sealer isn't necessary, but shouldn't hurt. So I doubt it is that as well.
Good eye! Yep, those are prone to breaking. At one point 4 of them were broken, I managed to extract three of them and replace. That last one wouldn't budge. Fortunately, it doesn't leak.
Great job kindly do a video of changing the alternator on Saab 95 aero I just did that but it took me almost 17 hours getting back the serpentine belt back on the pulleys was a nightmare for me keeping in mind I am a novice only hand tools and jack no ramps. Thanks in advance
I'll see if I can get one made sometime. I've just started a business earlier this year so I haven't had time to do much recording. The alternator is a big job on these! Difficult positioning. Congrats on getting through it!
@@messengermotorworks6639 thanks for replying also if you can make or tell us the easiest way to install the serpentine belt back that’ll be appreciated as that was an extreme nightmare putting the serpentine belt back on all the pillows. Thanks in advance.
Hi! That line is a baseline, or atmospheric pressure signal for the boost control. But when hooked up, it can get inaccurate readings because a tiny amount of vacuum can be applied to that part of the system, creating inconsistent performance because the sensor will read and adjust incorrectly. So disconnecting it, plugging the line and letting the sensor read open air was a solution found decades ago after the T7 cars hit the market and people started to mod them. It doesn't increase power, but makes it more consistent and some report slightly better response on tip-in.
I bought an saab 9 5 2002, and I also Will replace the waterpomp.. Hope your video help. I hope I can sent you some foto's sometime. I have a knocking sound on my engine I will replace my upper seal gasket... Hope it helps. One sparkplug (number 1). Is very wed. I also Will replace my direct ingintion because that is a common problems. Hope to get rid of that knocking.
I like the fact that you show almost the entire process of things, not just "undo this, mount that".
Thanks! I know it makes my videos a little long. I appreciate the encouragement!

Great job, i myself have a 2009 Saab 9-7X and it’s the best car ever
You have a lot of trust in that hood shock. Had so many close calls that I use wooden prop on all of em now.
Excellent content, enjoying the quality! Keep it up my guy
Thank you!
Thank you so much for your help getting the water pump fixed on my wife’s saab
I'm glad my video helped!
Did you jack up the engine before you removed the Elkhorn/yolk above the motor mounts?
You did good I am watching your video because I made the same mistake with my Saab.
on our particular car the water pump shaft wore out and tossed the serpentine from wobbling so much
What is the name of that "snorkel thing" that feeds into the turbo? The one with the blowoff coming up out of the side...
You know, I'm not sure. People call it either "snorkel" or "cobra pipe." I imagine Saab called it something mundane like "turbo inlet pipe."
One of my 'O' rings for the pressurized pipe is pretty loose, is that normal?? If not can I use something else to put around it?
Hi! If the o-ring is loose, you'll want to replace it because it could shift during install and that will guarantee a leak.. If it is still tight enough that it'll stay in place when reinstalling, you might be okay since it'll get compressed during installation.
How do you figure the torque spec for each bolt? Could you post them up? Also, what size is that bangjo bolt crush washer? Great video!

It looks like you are missing a pin bolt for your exhaust manifold?

I have the standard cobra pipe. I notice one of your turbo valve lines is plugged with a bolt. What does that mod do?

No it will not
Also what an amazing video, will subscribe to anyone for more like this! Thanks a lot
Thanks for making the vid. How did you get the turbo feed line loose from that snorkel thing you took loose?
Do you mean the vacuum line that goes to the boost control valve?
I have a Saab and same jumper win win 👍
Yes!
Once more time hi from Belarus. You know, if you took off cooling fan, you could do all this work (job? what is correct?) mach more comfortable.
86 inch pounds is 117nm maybe miscalculation there unless miss heard
7.2 ftlbs is 9.7nm
Did a say nm? Crap, I meant inch pounds.
@@messengermotorworks6639 no you didn’t say nm but one measurement inch pounds in conversion equals over 100nm for m6 or m8 bolt
