I would say this has to be the No1 Jump Up tutorial on RUclips, this is a great template to work from. I've been trying to make jump up for about 5yrs now, slowly getting there, a bit of determination and patience, this little vid will help massively!
Consistently spot on with your tutorials and sound design. I can't wait to annoy my friends with the sounds of beautiful, captivating, melodic jump up 😂😂
Any chance you could work on some scatty belgian jump up basses? Like the classic sort of quick modulated sounds you hear a lot on "underground jump up" right now 😂
You can use thr EQ on the Pro-R itself (yellow line) :) The blue line is controlling reverb time of frequencies, the yellow one controlls the reverb as a whole.
i've always found these jump up sounds easier to make while fiddling around on serum than some of the more bassline/UKG ones. Still can't find anywhere to explain to me how the hell to make the bass from Nu Aspect - Jungle. Dude is a machine with his selected house releases but that tune is just filth
good explanation of using serum. i am debating whether to purchase this vst which seems to be a must for d+b! i am getting closer to making my decision
hey Artfx, great videm man, need some more jump up bass line tutorials for sure, can I just ask the second osciallator what the name of the patch u are using there u didn't mention it?, Big up bro
jumpup sound design be like "... and then i put a saturation on a compressor on a distortion and they I distort it a bit more and also don't forget a distortion on your master and crank the saturation up as high as you can"
So mine doesnt sound right. I've set the oscA to -3. Nice subby sound. Then I got to turn on oscB and it just sounds like distorted filth. I'm not getting that epic metallic wub. Where am I going wrong?
@@artfxdnb yep. So, oscillator a / Analog BD sin / -3 Oct. Oscillator b / pwm medicine hat / wave table to 2 O'Clock on dial. Back to OSC A / FM from B / map from LFO 1 and map level from LFO 1... sounds like gravel.
To be honest not quite close this is a really basic sounding wobble that I actually don't hear since anymore since 2007 🙄 it's OK to not like jump up but common man lol
@@superlazy3355 Actually no, there is no misinformation. It's very simple, a sub with stereo can still sound good in mono if there is no phase cancellation happening when summed to mono. Mixing your sub in mono makes it easier to mix, but that doesn't mean you always NEED a mono sub.
@@artfxdnb I didn't mean misinformation from you man! Every day is a school day always good to learn more, I meant misinformation as in all us misinformed ones! ✌️
Lmao if you consider these wack sounds 90% of today's jump up it goes to show you've just scratched the shitty surface of the genre. Jumpup is one of the most diverse genres I know, and this synth is far from representative of the genre
That's exactly what I was thinking.. this is such a terrible example of jump up. Listen to kanine, simula, tsuki, k motionz.. none of it sounds like this at all
Yet Hedex and others play some of the biggest Jump Up parties around, just accept a subgenre has multiple production styles that vary between artists, the fact you aren't into it does not mean it's not a particular genre... smh
@@astavandonvish6262 first of all I never said it was that, so don't know what you're implying here. Second, just type in Jump Up dnb on RUclips or Google and see what comes up.

@Travis Michael yup, I have been watching on flixzone for years myself =)
About time someone covered the jump up FM bass. You’re spot on. Not enough on RUclips.
That clap layer is a good idea, you don’t really hear the actual clap transient but the space and tail are there - almost like a live setting

Like in Monss - Vanilla Chocolate
@@jacobspun1498 I think those jungle type wobbles are made by modulating the pitch, with possibly some detuning as well?
thats mostly fm, multiband compression and 1/32 delay. experiment with that and you'll get results
A Tutorial on Woodlock would be amazing. I just cant figure out how he does this Bass. Example: Woodlock & Nightfang - Number 2
You can use thr EQ on the Pro-R itself (yellow line) :) The blue line is controlling reverb time of frequencies, the yellow one controlls the reverb as a whole.
Thanks so much ArtFX!! I've learned so much from you.
