- This is our third installment from the film L'UOMO DAL GUANTO GRIGIO featuring the young Mario Del Monaco in his first movie ever.
In this excerpt he sings fragments of Puccini's and Leoncavallo's La bohème, Trovatore, Otello (!!), Mattinata and......Massenet's Manon!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@@delaware-llc IF they recorded the speaking and the singing the same, then no, nothing is off. Speech sounds normal.
Btw, I know early Del Monaco recordings where he did sound somewhat more lyrical than later.

Del Monaco a parte che era un Fenomeno aveva delle difficoltà Enormi nel registro acuto!

Questa è la vera voce di Mario Del Monaco - la voce del tenore lirico pieno senza trucchi e menzogne.

Del Monaco era un Fenomeno .
Nel suo repertorio era uno dei migliori tenori nella storia della lirica.
Peccato che non aveva il registro acuto di Gigli, Merli, Fleta e compagnia.
Per Manrico ci vuole di avere un bellissimo Do naturale acuto...

At around 3:00 Mario dips all the way to around a B1 on the "o" when talking. It's more of a fry mix but you see some early signs of a dramatic tenor long term.
Anyone knows the names of each song/aria he sings in the video?
He had a beautiful voice at that time still, because he didn't push too much as he did later on in his career!
