@SportsJunkie602 I love the team too. But they didn't lose 21-17. Or 19-12. It was 48-16 with ALL THOSE EXPECTATIONS. either the game was rigged or this team is so frickin immature that they thought they were better and would win for that reason. With the narratives surrounding dallas every year... how do you give that performance? Jimmy johnson was LIVID. THEY NEED DAWWWGS ON THAT TEAM. dak Micha mccarthy... this team doesn't want it bad enough. All they care about is money. AR least Tony romo CARED. I remember when the dude put on his helmet after cracking ribs and puncturing his lung and won... or when he tried going in the game after breaking his collarbone... or when they got robbed in green bay and his mother said after he got off the plane he just broke down in tears. In the end it is Jerry’s team and he can run it as he sees fit. Doesn’t mean Cowboys fans have to agree with what he does, but we will all have to accept it.
He has to figure out that he is the issue, and that is unlikely to happen.

The reality is so long as Jerry is in stayed behindcharge, the mentality and approach to fix Dallas’s issue all point to Jerry Jones letting go of Jimmy Johnson when he did and Jones wanting to be the center of attention, good for the profitability of the franchise, but terrible for Cowboy fans. Switzer won a few championships with the remnants of Jimmy’s players that stayed after Jimmy was let go, but nothing since. Jerry needs to own that and change.. but he won’t.. The problem with this team is that it has a culture of celebrity and entitlement from past success that is thrust upon current players just for the fact that they made the team.
And their skills are often over evaluated from playing so many current subpar teams in a really weak devision.
Consequently, they end up going into the playoffs with a false superiority complex along with that entitlement type attitude that is quickly crushed when the realities of playoff football hits them in the mouth.

From the outside it feels like a country club
Perhaps too many were looking too far ahead and believing their own publicity with rankings, Pro Bowls etc
You have to earn it, want it and get after it every week for 60 minutes
All they did was confirm the season long narratives about being frontrunners and beating up on weak teams
Offense can be misfiring and have a bad day but defense is all about effort and it was sorely lacking and an embarrassment

The Cowboys are right in the middle as far as strength of schedule this year compared to all other teams, so the schedule itself was not a huge factor IMO, but certainly they got a big head from how bad they beat up on teams that sucked.....but how did they forget so quickly how they struggled so hard with every single decent team all year except the 2nd Eagles game (and we know Eagles weren't all that)

Everyone on the team and in the organization is the blame!!!!! Coaches are paid and given responsibility for getting players ready and prepared to play the game of football. That is the reason they are paid millions of dollars. Players are paid millions of dollars for playing the game. In a way, the whole organization need to be dismantled getting to the root of the reason why the Cowboys never advanced in the playoffs, since Jimmy Johnson was coach. As Jimmy said during halftime of the game, why is Dan Quinn playing zone defense over man to man coverage for the game? The secondary players from what I seen during the regular season games were horrible!!!! These players were put into pass coverage. At the same time they run downfield to never look back for the ball thrown to the receiver. All the sudden, they get burnt on a long scoring play.

It is quite simple. Jerry Jones is the problem. He has been the problem, is the problem and will continue to be the problem because he knows nothing on how to build a championship team and he refuses to bring in someone who can. Tom Landry’s built his team in the 1960s with DT Bob Lilly as their first draft pick. When it was time to rebuild, he used it on Randy White, who became a hall of fame DT. After the disastrous 1-15 season, Jimmy’s first draft pick was DT Russell Maryland. They later added Leon Lett. The Cowboys haven’t had a strong DT since Glover. They cannot stop the run up the middle because if they are going to play a 3-4 defense, then the nose tackle cannot be undersized. If they play a 4-3, then a safety cannot be the middle linebacker, especially without big and strong DTs to stuff the run. Offensively they lack a power running game, which makes them a one dimensional offense that good defenses of good opposing coaches will exploit, which is what happens every year, and which is why there is no hope to think anything is actually going to change.

As a former football player and coach, and a FORMER NFL and Cowboys fan, The problem with the Cowboys is NOT the coach, and not the players, its the ownership. Jerry Jones and now his son have interfered with the coaching staff during the games. This affects the game management. It affects the play calling and in the end, undermines the authority and ability of the coaching staff to manage/ coach the game. I said it in 1996, and i will re-iterate my statement: " As long as Jerry Jones and now his son remain in the ownership position of the Dallas Cowboys organization, the team will never make it to the Superbowl". Does not matter who the head coach is or who the quarterback is. Unless Jerry and son, back off of active "Gametime" involvement, this prediction will stand. Such a tragic and sad commentary.

No one wishes more than me than I do that Jimmy Johnson was available to coach. I thank Troy for always being honest and straight forward and I thank you for honestly looking at what is the hole in this Dallas boat and what could possibly fix it. This was a devastating loss and the pain of it won’t go away until they win. One more thing, I will never understand is why Dallas’ first play was not a deep pass over the middle to CeeDee Lamb (a statement play) will never be explained to me. What was that? A pass to Michael Gallup? Runs to Pollard? The game plan should have been - to dance with who got you there. Back in the day - you knew Emmitt was going to get the ball and you knew Michael was coming over the middle or was going to work the sideline; and guess what? Troy handed Emmitt thd ball and threw the ball to Michael, anyway. His philosophy being: I’m going to do it until you stop it. Thank you for this video.

We had McCarthy as coach for years & even won a Super Bowl with him as coach. "However" after a while us as "Extreme Fans" couldn't wait to get rid of him. Why do ya all think he doesn't want to discuss his time in Green Bay? He was a terrible second half coach & his style led to heartbreaking losses just like the one you feel now. He simply couldn't get the team to find it's killer instinct & finish the job. You will not find the highest success if you try to be a "players coach" instead of a guy like BB & other's. We all here laugh at you guy for keeping him around. Stop your crying & get rid of McCarthy. It's the only way you will hit the top! Don't say I didn't win you!

Nobody will convince me Purdy is better than Dak. Shanahan helos hom out by running the ball. It takes so much pressure of him, he plays so free. Most people don't know about this because he's a class act and didn't jabber about it in public. However if you look for footage it's easy to see. I am sure "Deflategate" stick in Aikman's craw, as underinflated footballsin one NFC Championship game in San Francisco's soaked feild would have likely meant 4 in a row. This is 100% on Jerry Jones. Everyone knows that Jerry makes the decisions and all of the coaches are just figure heads. I firmly believe that he undermines the coaches each and every year and has for decades. He gets the players believing all the hype every year about how this is the year they win it all. This is why we always beat the bad teams, lose to the good teams and fall flat on our face in the playoffs, the players think they have already won the game before its played and then look shocked on the sidelines. We have seen it for decades! What they need is a disciplined coach that tells them they are NOT entitled to anything and have to earn each and every win in this league. I haven't seen a Cowboys team with heart or grit since the 90's. Everyone saying Belichick is the answer is flat out wrong, the coach we need right now is Vrabel.

Well, I wasn't a McCarthy fan when they hired him. When he took over as the play caller, I said, "Uh-oh, we're in trouble". What was it, week 14 or 15, that he said he finally got his rhythm? Smh. Now remember, he was allowing the previous play caller to crash and burn. No rhythm, no change, no go to. This year's offensive set was too predictable. Runs looked like runs; First down, three TE's and maybe cooks or Turpin as the one wide. Smh We don't have a dominant line, and we don't have that type of back. While we were trying to down play any motivation during the week, GB Coach had a plan; If we win the toss, we want the ball (he didn't just decide that pre-game); We are going to make them prove they can stop the run, which they haven't done a season; 4th and 3 or less, we're going for it. And you know they used McCarthy, a former GB coach, as motivation. Now, down 24 or 25 points in the 3rd, McCarthy still trying to script plays, while staring into his play sheet like he had a25-point play on there. Smh....Then they want to get into shoving matches in the 4th, should have slapped someone in the mouth in the 1st or 2nd to try to find some motivation. Lamb was crying before the ball even went through his hands and he missed it. His body language said it all, from the 1st quarter on. Like everyone has said, it's not just the losing, it's butt whoopings. Crying about being held on defense. That means stop laying on these 300+ lineman and letting them hold you. Pop him and get him off of you. Smh. GB receivers wide open. So open, the only Cowboy on the screen was the team name in the corner! 🤣🤣🤣 Smh. Yeah this was another loss under Dak's watch, but this was an across the board loss. I thinking I would wake up Monday morning and the entire team was let go....LMAO... (I know that's not how it works). But from the Head Coach to the Towel Guy, FIRED!!! Smh.
P.S. I know more and more coaches are doing it, but I don't really like Head Coaches as OC's. It takes away from them over-all managing the game. McCarthy couldn't help or offer anything to the defense because his focus is the offense. But that is just me....I know it's a different time. Three running plays in a row, that look like run plays, with your best two receivers on the sideline. Smh. That deep ball to Cooks and he didn't even make an attempt to make a play on it. Yeah the one that fell two yards beside him. I wanted to stop watching then, and that had to be the first quarter. dang forgive my rant....

I was a Cowboy fan from the early 60's until around 1997. It was then that I concluded that the Cowboys were not about what happened on the field but that the Cowboys were about Jerry Jones. Jones inherited the mantle from Al Davis as the most intrusive and destructive owner in the NFL.
Quick question-without looking. Who is the owner of the San Francisco 49ers? Denise DeBartolo York - Eddie DeBartolo's daughter. You don't see her face on camera, don't see her name in the media, don't hear her saying one policy one day and contradicting herself a month later. The 49ers hired John Lynch and Kyle Shanahan AND LET THEM DO THEIR JOBS. The 49ers don't play in "Denise's World."
My point is that an organization's character and core values come from the top. If the top guy (or girl) has a crap attitude, crap things will happen. Jerry Jones only has to look into the mirror to find the bottom line of what is wrong with the Cowboys.

I remember famine and feast. The talent on this team this year, I thought they may finally make a push to the NFC Championship because a home field advantage in wildcard and divisional rounds. Going into the matchup against Green Bay I was still skeptical of Dallas because they went against a hot Packer’s team under Jordan Love and had nothing to lose. The overzealous Cowboys as per usual let me down for 28 years. In 2007 I was in St. Louis when the Rams still played there and as the Dallas Cowboys walked in Jerry Jones was greeting some of the fans. My girlfriend at the time was wearing a Stetson hat and Dallas cowboys cheerleader outfit with Cowboy boots and she asked me if I wanted to go over and meet Jerry. I said no!!! He is the reason why the cowboys lose and will continue to lose until he steps down. She walked over and met Jerry, talked with him and had her Stetson hat signed by him and I waited about 20 feet away. The Cowboys won’t win until Jerry stops meddling with team/personnel decisions. I am still a Cowboy’s fan but it’s a harder pill to swallow every year of disappointment and mediocrity in the playoffs.

Well, one thing ou might need that would make a difference would be for Jerry Johnson to butt out and be a behind-the-scenes owner like almost all the rest of them are. As long as the head coaches are hostage to Jerry's desire to be in the spotlight, I don't see the Cowboys doing what needs to be done. Because it's about Jerry's ego. It's a little bit like when Al Davis owned the Raiders and couldn't let anybody else actually make decisions about how the football side of the team should be run.

Jerry Jones is cursed since firing Jimmy Johnson. Dallas will NEVER win an NFC Championship much less a Superbowl with the Joneses as owners. Dallas is 0 for 29 YEARS!!! Firing McCarthy or Quinn will not help. If anyone is thinking about bringing in Belichek there is two reasons it won't happen. 1. Belichek's ego won't let him be subservient to Jerry. 2. Belichek has NEVER won ONE playoff game without Tom Brady.

Bill Belichick, the greatest coach of all time and just the kind hard nosed disciplinarian the team needs, is RIGHT THERE FOR THE TAKING. And Jerry is going to let that opportunity pass, and he's going to bring back Mike McCarthy for ONE MORE try at it. And he's going to re-sign Dak who we should CUT OR TRADE. If you watch Kurt Warner's in depth breakdowns of Dak's play, it is OBVIOUS that he is not a REAL quarterback in the Peyton Manning/Tom Brady mode or even like a Tony Romo who can read the field. Dak like 50% of the time FAKES his reads and already knows at the snap where he's going to throw it. His lack of QB congnition can get him by in most games, but when he gets to the playoffs the elite level coaches ALL KNOW, BUT DON'T DARE SHOW THEIR CARDS OR ADVERTISE, that it is EASY EASY EASY to completely confuse Dak and show him things he's never seen and can't react to. As long as Dak is our quarterback, the cowboys will be STUCK and 12-5 with an early playoff exit is our ceiling. DAK WILL NEVER ADVANCE US PAST THIS POINT. So of course Jerry is going to sign him to some stupid extension. I would bet money that Bert Lance could get the Cowboys AT LEAST exactly where Dak did.

I remember back in the 90's when the Dallas Cowboys had one of the best dynasties! Back in those days, I was not a Cowboys fan, but I became a fan because over time, I observed the unrelentless drive to win, consistent discipline, smashmouth football intensity, and a teamwork finesse that the team cannot replicate present day! My perception leads me to believe, with the exception of 2 previous bad luck, scores nearly heading into overtime 2014/2016 postseason losses to (here we go again) the Greenbay Packers when Aaron Rodgers was the QB, where Dez Bryant made the unbelievable catch that was reversed, the Dallas Cowboys offensive and defensive cohesiveness and teamwork simply falls apart. That must be in part to lacking discipline, overinflated ego, and the quarterback getting too anxious and jumpy, throwing the ball too soon, too fast, or just way out of sync. The bottom line is the Cowboys get spoiled in the postseason and start letting up on the gas for whatever reason, and then fight to play catch up when it's too late! When I look back at the "good ole days" in the 90's and compare the difference, I saw a whole lot more tenacity, intensity, consistency, discipline, and above all, a relentless desire to win! Don't get me wrong, I love when thr Cowboys acquire the Emmit Smith's, Michael Irvin's, Jason Witten's, Marion Barber's, Deion Sander's, Terrell Owen's and the Cee Dee Lamb's, but the entire team has to play consistently with that kind of intensity and not get distracted. If we could communicate one thing to Jerry, it would be, "Bring back those same elements that made you a Superbowl winner 30 years ago Jerry, and give the team the fuel it needs to win! And celebrate after 2 playoff wins, not before!"
It's one thing if we play hard, give it all we got, and even if we lose by 2 or 3 points, I can respect that performance. But I can't stand these blowouts and getting crushed in the playoffs by teams that are average at best!
The Dallas Cowboys would learn a lot by practicing outdoors in a cold place like Buffalo or Michigan for the offseason, not the Bahamas. Get tougher than ever and become epic for the 2024 season. It's time to silence the critics!

At the same time, preparing those players, get and keeping them focused on the task at hand is the job of the coaches. To my mind either the coaching staff suffers glaring problems in this area or there is a very serious problem in the culture amongst the players as they aren’t listening. Either way, change must be made to bring this team up to the level of their capabilities.

The more the owner meddles in operations and coaching, the more bad trends develop. When Irsay let Bill Polian, Dungy and Manning alone...all was well. When Jerry Jones let Jimmy Johnson alone...all was well.
