If I may suggest : once you have released the spring you should lock the nut again... 1000km later you should release the nut again to let the spring compensate a little bit of stretching of the belt and then lock it again. In any case it should'nt be let loose....
that's pretty epic , I'm stoked to see what you do with these wagons , I think you should put the 1j in the red wagon and do a sweet redblock build with the blue one . something cool about building the stock engine
Greetings from California! Good video. I removed the crank bolt with a battery powered impact wrench. Came off very easily and with no locking tool needed.
@@mikewong5888 I removed the inspection cover on the bottom of my AW70 transmission and stuck a screwdriver up into the toothed flywheel. That kept the crankshaft from turning while I torqued down the crankshaft bolt. Easy-peasy! Worked like a charm!

I need help removing the crankshaft pulley from the crankshaft on my B230F. I have removed the bolt and washer, but unlike your pulley which you just wiggled off @3:19, mine is firmly stuck to the shaft. I have tried wiggling, lightly prying with a bar and lightly tapping with a hammer but it just won't come off. Any suggestions?
Hi, did the sensor replacement make some difference? My 940 is stalling very often, but only when its cold. I think I tried everything, but this sensor looks so poor on my car. Thank you for response and merry x-mass :)
nice video bro I'm so excited for the 2jz conversion view, in the new year i will be buying a Lexus with an N/A 2jz to do my own swap, in my 240 so you videos will be super helpful, cheers
Thank you for showing how to do this changing the timing belt and seals properly. May we know which brand of seals you do prefer or where it is best to order it from. I hope your outing to the movies went well.
could you please share the soundtrack producer name? thanks. btw, imho you have got a bit carried away about the time needed to replace a flywheel position sensor - as per my practice on three subsequential 940s it takes no more than 10 minutes (without filming of course) :)
Hallo!
Kies welke jouw prima lijkt.

Hey i changed my timing belt on my volvo 940 a couple of days ago too :D
Can you show how you took the belts off and actually loosened the tension bolts?
With the way you say the word Red, I would definitely call the red one "Rat Volvo"
I just found your channel and subscribed. One of my belts came loose/teeth missing/broke on my 940 2.3.
The car stalled..!!!

I just used a long handled wrench and gave the engine starter a quick turn and off popped the crank bolt. No impact wrench required!
@@bobjohnson1587 How did you get it back on?

I got it off. Never mind! Lol
30 or 40 times? or did i misheard? it does 4 rotations so if you do one you need to do 3 more then the markings are right again
Amazing color of the car

Josh Briggs Me2 I really can't wait to start the project!
Easiest timing belt to change. Can be done in an hour on the side of the road.

J Martin I would recommend OEM ones or premium brands like SKF 👌. I was at the movies just in time haha.
I'm about to do mine and I purchased the Volvo seals. I don't want to be doing the job over because of a bad seal.
Nice!!! Ik ga deze week kijken voor een 940 lpt... nog tips?? Ik wil graag de 135 pk wat omhoog brengen👍🏻
My B200F is on 519,000 miles, timing belt is due

What do mean forth gear ?
Handig om te weten wat het niks voorstelt! :)
Dit filmpje had ik net nodig!👍
Built to last.
wait. isnt it better to replace the waterpump aswel?
if it has problems or has been on format very long time I guess yeah
icryudie normally it is, mine was replaced 1,5 years ago and wasn't leaking.
First of all the waterpump on these arent timingbelt driven so no need. Second of all volvo waterpumps never fail.
@@admiralfloofz658 My Volvo water pump failed! Just before the 1 year Volvo part warranty expired. So, I got the pump and labour for free.
My crank pulley is stuck, ive even tried prying it with a crowbar but it wont come off
I see he never answered you, either. :(
@@bobjohnson1587 Nope, but boy does this bring back memories, RIP volvo :c
Non interference engine. Line up all the dots and throw it on.
What sensor did you change for the starts ?
Looks like it's the crank position sensor. Mine also stalled at random moments and replacing the cps fixed the problem.
Beautiful!
