I visited St Nectan’s Glen many years ago and also attended a beautiful hand-fasting there - both very spiritual moments. Since it was taken over by outsiders and taken over with rules and regulations, it does come across that it is marketing spirituality not encouraging spirituality. I agree that the stream and walking through the trees is far more spiritual and enjoyable than being at a tourist centre. It’s a shame commercialism has taken the spirit out of the spiritual land. Thank you for another great video.
Hi guys, love your exploration videos as I love Cornwall.. have to say St Nectans Glen was a lovely place to visit before the new owners purchased in 2017.. the previous owners cafe and food was phenomenal and had the small court yard for seating down the steps from the new big building... The previous staff were amazing as they loved the place, new owners have just a business to promote... Too busy now with people visiting it has lost the magic that was there unfortunately.
Wonderful to see this. I have never heard of it before now. So beautiful to see and I loved to hear you both have so much fun there. I agree with what you said about nature should be free. Thank you for sharing. Warm greetings, Julie.
Looks like you two had fun as usual. Well edited but a rather steep viewing fee for the waterfall! Tend to agree with Andrew, a peaceful spot in nature should be free; the little river and woodland towards the end looked to be the most serene part of the walk to us. An enjoyable watch thank you.
Such a wonderful waterfall. I wish I had known about it before. I was recently in Cornwall camping in Paul at the Mousehole Campground and also spent some time in Falmouth. It was my first time in Cornwall and I am now back home in Illinois, U.S.A. I thought that I was all Norwegian but through an extensive DNA test I learned that I am also very Cornish. I can now continue to see my ancient homeland through your outstanding videos! Thank you!
Great vid guys! Enjoyed the honest review of the day... and I completely agree. That lovely walk along the stream at the end was far more 'serene' in my book!!👍❤
I agree with you about the waterfall i was shocked you have pay to see a small waterfall its a shame it is a nice waterfall and a special place. Its like any other tourist hotspot people feel need to see it. Like you said there lot free waterfalls to see about where you can find some peace :)
This reminds me a great deal of a place here in the US, called Watkins Glen, in New York State. It's got waterfalls and greenery and streams, like this beautiful St Necten's Glen, except we can't walk in the water like you can - however, it's just as gorgeous. One of my favorite places I've ever been to. Thank you so much for posting this - it's absolutely stunning!
Not sure if you have had a little look on our channel but we visited Calstock this year, although not precisely Harrobarrow, Sarah ruclips.net/video/4TdzW66NWLwh/видео.htmlttps://ruclips.net/video/4TdzW66NWLw/видео.html
Made me chuckle. Too many people for my liking, and I agree with you both that there is much to see and enjoy that isn't going to cost £5.95 So pleased I stumbled across your channel. BTW best waterfalls I've ever seen were at Milford Sound NZ 😍
A beautiful place - though I've never paid to go in, the waterfall is lovely. I agree with you though, the most magical places are not pay-to-enter places full of tourists! I felt like that about Tintagel Castle too. I do like the magic money trees though!
Another silent viewing for me! When we visited last time here they were building the cafe and what was supposed to be a retreat I think at the time?? Quite a few years ago now. Not so many people either when we went, so made it more special. We had a cuppa in the little cafe in the house...a robin sat on the end of our table I remember. Wish I could have heard your commentary. Hey Ho. Can't afford a new computer at the mo...so silence is golden as they say. Your smiles and giggling say it all anyway! Look forward to next week's silent escapade! x J x
Yes, there is a retreat building, designed for group meditation sessions, and also a wedding arbour! Although I am not sure how you would transport the guests - I'm sure they have probably thought about that though. New computer - ouch! (we went re-conditioned!) Sarah :)
We went there in May 2017 as they were building that pine shop. Seems like they have over commercialised the area and scared away the faairies. It could well be a portal , as sacred sites are,.... to the concious enrgy field... spiritual connection to living nature, creative forces....We travelled from west australia via Amsterdam and took a train still high from space cake. We stayed at a bnb just above the glen and got up early and entered the deep gorge like valley with its wet jungle like Sycamore. Originally the valley would have had oak and sycamore were understorey trees that flourished after the oaks and beech were removed. I was born in Meifod ....an ancient village, with a large monastic enclosure , the first in that area, at least 1600 years ago....into a timber industry family. Nearby is St Materianas church, with its overgrown wild churchyard. Founded from Wales 1500 years ago and no doubt, like so many, associated with Celtic deities, often female. I have wandered in Scotland and Wales and Ireland and in Austraalia in ancient sacred places where connection is just the start of a reassuring spiritual journey. We thought it very strange to be offered wellies to wear...very english urban alienation to us. There was a nice deck where we had some food and a red bird came and chatted to us. We travelled thousands of miles and bypassed cities. Britain has an enormous ancient heritage ...nothing like it in Holland...amazing pagan island really...
Looks nice but would certainly have to carefully pick my day to go on this one, bit too touristy for me, but hey another great walk from my two favourite piskies as always.
Hi there, I can't imagine this place in August during the school holidays, a totally different atmosphere but we had to satisfy our curiousity! Cheers! Sarah :)
That was kind of like the Narrows in Bryce Canyon National Park where the trail is the river running though it. So you have to hike in the river through the canyon. Water is just a bit deeper though. Dude.........that lunch Andrew had made my mouth water. May just have to plan a trip to that cafe, then maybe see the waterfall. LOL. Yep, there have been many times I just had to wait people out to get the shot I wanted. I guess its part of a creators life. Well, no ice cream this time. I just want what Andrew had. Have a great weekend.
Enjoyed your vid thanks, informative & real ! Some nice comedy lines thrown in too😄looking to do this walk this spring…how do you think kids aged between 5 & 7 would cope?
My special places in Cornwall are Out on the headland of the Rumps ..... down on the lower mound at the Crown Tin Mines or anywhere on the coast path if there is nobody else about if i'm honest.
Sarah what was that, that Andrew demolished it looked nice, Also we have a fresh water spring at 14 miles from us in Buxton that people fill up plastic bottles for free. Can you drink that water ?
Never thought to ask if you could drink the water - I think I would aim for up stream!! Too many feet for my liking, if you know what I mean! Ha! Ha! Sarah :)
Awesome guys ...Been years since i have been over there, bit steep to pay to go into the waterfall , Guess not to bad 5.90 for a foot spa !! ........Sorry don't think much of the chanting Don't give up the day job ...😎😎😎😜👍😱🙃😵😎
I really dislike the commercialization of the UK's beauty spots and building rampways and boardwalks make it to tame and easy to access, taking the challenge away from the experience. the easy access means too many get to these places of peace and contemplation. i will never visit this place, lucky i know some quieter spots in those woods. nature sould br left completely untouched ,worts and all. if left as nature intended then no charge is needed.

“It’s a day I will remember, it was a day of giggles, a day of smiling” - life is truly made by small moments like that.
Now I know to bring my wellies thank you
Love you guys lol iv been there but we didn’t pay then but that was a long time ago but it was enchanting
Thanks for watching! Sarah :)

Its very beautiful! I bet the cold water would feel nice on a hot day. Another glorious perfect creation God made. I agree, free!
My feet felt lovely and refreshed afterwards, if a little dirty! Sarah :)

We were intrigued and it was on our 'to do' list this year. Very glad we went, Sarah :)
Brilliant video, lovely scenery ,great water full ,

Sometimes you just have to do something just to have the experience! Sarah :)

If you was to read the book called Tintagel, one can realise that there is a lot more to this place as a spiritual sanctuary.
Lovely walk and glen, with all the recent rain it’s probably even muddier now! Loving the waterfalls, definitely a place for us to visit next year😀👍💕
Mann thanks for this wonderful video!❤
Nice. I am hoping you get to a place called "Harrowbarrow", in Calstock County. My G greaddad was Christened at the Parish there in Calstock.
Not sure if you have had a little look on our channel but we visited Calstock this year, although not precisely Harrobarrow, Sarah ruclips.net/video/4TdzW66NWLwh/видео.htmlttps://ruclips.net/video/4TdzW66NWLw/видео.html
Calstock is not far from me! I live in Saltash on the Cornwall/Devon border!!😉
Made me chuckle. Too many people for my liking, and I agree with you both that there is much to see and enjoy that isn't going to cost £5.95 So pleased I stumbled across your channel. BTW best waterfalls I've ever seen were at Milford Sound NZ 😍
These are exceedingly sacred though, and need experiencing with the glen and river. Too many tourists spoils the broth.

At least being local, we can find those place where tourism has not yet reached.... Sarah :)
So money actually does grow on trees. Wait until I see my parents when I pass o'er into the great beyond. They clearly diddled me!
Precioso, estuvé allí hace tres años!!!!!

What a mesmerizing place. But I understand well that you found it a bit crowded :) Bossiny Cove though; looked very peaceful :)
We would like to return to Bossiney Cove, maybe walk to Tintagel - on the 'to do' list! Sarah :)

If you read the Tintagel book by Paul Broadhurst, you will soon realise how sacred and special this place is.
Looks nice but would certainly have to carefully pick my day to go on this one, bit too touristy for me, but hey another great walk from my two favourite piskies as always.

LOL! Yes, the chanting! Well, what can I say?!? Sarah :)
oh, you guys are so cute when you want to politely say that we should really not bother going there :D
He!He! Sarah :D
You can get to there from the back without paying.
Sounds interesting ..... Sarah :)
😮
Yeh sneak in robbing Bs xxxx um
Lovely place ,though I wouldn't pay £6 to see a waterfall, as you say , I'd feel uncomfortable I'd be in people's shots , food looks nice though ☺️
Cheers! and thanks for watching! Sarah :)
💟💟💟
Lol Andrew, I want my money back.

Unfortunately it's all about the money here. Balance sheets and not spirituality is key here. Such a shame.
