She seems so much older than 22. Way ahead of her time in every way
She had an old soul
She was really out there showing young blk girls that they didn’t have to fit in a box. She’s one of the biggest reasons I try to be original 💕
I feel like that's the real beauty of who she was and why people love her. She's an original she did her own thing. Now a days originality is kind of lost. Everybody wants to look and sound the same. I hope people learn from her in that regard
@@MsTrueTy That’s definitely the case, Aaliyah inspired males and females alike just with her character, creative bravery and quiet confidence. She always had a sexiness but that came through more through the way she moved, it wasn’t a forced element. I’m glad new fans are finally getting access to her full artistry beyond ‘One In A Million’ and ‘Try Again’, because she was so much more than those songs. Back in the day we didn’t even really know what she looked like for most of her career. There were even rumours she had a glass eye, as her face was always concealed in some way. She wasn’t sold on her beauty, it was just a bonus. When the shades and hair were finally removed we were like “Damn, she’s gorgeous😍” and that was about 6-7 singles and features into her career lol. So to have her be reduced to an aesthetic all these years has been frustrating, Cos it aligned her with acts that are mostly that now. Her artistry was louder than her looks, she just happened to be timelessly beautiful💯
@@damyanthelion Very well put. I'm happy too. I remember I always thought she was pretty but it was her energy and overall presence that hooked me.
@@MsTrueTy This is so true!
Same!💞
even though she didn't write her songs, she was part of the development of the songwriting process. and her performance of every song that was written for her was always flawless.
Also nobody could imitate the chemistry she had with her team in the studio. Her sound couldn't be imitated...
Now a days, you change one word and they give you writing credits...cough..cough- Beyonce...
@@britneytian3768 ntm on Beyoncé now... I’ve seen ur other comments... you are weird and obsessed. Learn to praise talent without dragging/degrading other talented people. This was supposed to be a positive comment section but here u go starting stuff and ruining the vibe.
@@dugebuwembo especially static who wrote half of this album
@@yungmiami7675 exactly thank you.
It feels like 2001 all over again 🥰🥰🥰
wish it was i wish we could bring them back and get rid of alot bad people
This is Aaliyah’s best work to date. This album was just so diverse with many different genres from R&B, Trip-Hop, elements of Rock, Pop, Funk, etc.
This album definitely showed growth in Aaliyah with the subject matter talking about abusive relationships, feminism, double standards (what if), etc.
From start to finish, this album is a bop.
Also Soul and elements of Electronica, Middle Eastern and Latin.
I loved that edgy and dark side about her, I enjoy dark and edgy things as well
Yes
Me too! It’s the part of her that’s always over-looked when people talk about her. Of course Aaliyah had a sweetness but it undermines her artistry to reduce her to only that. Aaliyah was a visionary with a lot of sensuality, heart, edge and innovation, as well as being sweet. More than anything she was a risk-taker and she lead the way for her peers to be more risky💯
@@damyanthelion agreed . She changed the lane for r&b
@@damyanthelion very well said
Still got this on DVD from her CD it’s a GEM 💎
Me too back in December 2002. Excellent classic double CD I Care For You. Aaliyah was on her way to the top in the music industry and an actress 😭😭😭. She was taking away too soon
@@pigramgregory2 I try not to think about it cause it really don’t make sense at all man😭 like why here she was on her way to being a icon
Shes a icon in my opinion for sure though
No hair or makeup done . Just natural beauty. Miss you Aaliyah . You were 10 months older than ma . You're Jamuary 1979 I'm November 1979 . So this one I'll never get over
she actually had both done here hehe but you're still right 😊
I love Aaliyah voice she's so well spoken. I could listen to her talk all day.❤
Me too
She was so mature for her age and she was ready to grow even more, she would’ve been so powerful now.
Man i don’t mind it being this way because it gives the vibe of back in the day . It’s a vibe for me 💎
Aaliyah would be so proud❤️
This album was her breakthrough era to International Superstardom type Umbrella for Rihanna more edgy, seductive, women empowerment. I can’t fathom Not to think if she never died Timbaland was going to keep working with her. Maybe All the Nelly Furtado hits were going to be Hers. Missy Elliot and Ciara Lose Control . Now that we know she was sedated.. it hurts so much. She REFUSED. There’s so many things that could’ve been prevented. Her original plane arrived two hours later after the accident. Like damn ..
Dame said that hype Williams took the private jet that Lenny kravitz sent for her . I will always look at him funny from here on out
It was all setup to happen like that. Sad to say
wtf are u talking about? Her scheduled flight was for Aug 26th (the next day). They wrapped shooting earlier than scheduled so her and the others decided to leave that same day (the 25th) but could not get the plane scheduled to pick them up any earlier than planned, so Hype’s (the videos director) partner-travel agency booked that flight on that small plane.
They were all expecting a larger plane to arrive.
@@ashrick718 that is not true. It was rumored in the industry that hype would do all the extra shit to get money this is why they shot in the Bahamas but it was mostly behind a green screen. He took the plane that was sent for Aaliyah. Kenny Kravitz sent for her to get a private plane . They packed all that equipment on there knowing it was gonna fall . Look at Alberto Clemente scenario. It’s known if you overload a plane it’s gonna fall . That’s probably why she didn’t wanna get on the plane in the first place
@@destinixshakur I know what I’m talkin bout. Thanks.
And “Loose Rap” was written and the third verse is boasting about artists and mainly producers that have been jealous of Timbaland’s and also Static’s team unique sound, because Timb really introduced a new sound to hip hop/R&B in the late 90s and had everyone wanting to work with them (Missy too).
If u do thorough research Aaliyah’s flight was intended for the next day. Lenny probably suggested he’d send a flight BUT Hype booked that smaller plane for them. Might not had been purposely though.
They were all pissed when the plane arrived at that private airport, and they couldn’t book anything else. Private flights are expensive.
the way she spoke gave older than 22. so mature
Are young adults supposed to speak like they are dumb?
I love her so much she was so damn smart and creativity and of course really talented
I love how she said my writters. Most of singers will say they did it all by themselves. She was so humble ❤️
I know a lot of 90’s artists were
this album is my favorite, the beat the sound is unmatched!
Her best work was really ahead of her
If you can tell this is slightly different from what's on the DVD that comes with the self titled album!! I Love it
Your right I just watched it 20 min ago it’s definitely different I might post the dvd version
@@crow2111 post it please
this is from the I Care 4 U DVD
@@crow2111 please do. Just followed you. Put it up. 😂
This may have been the VHS version, I’m guessing.
Still never getting over her death man.
me either
Me neither
Aaliyah was executive producer for her last album. She took control like JANET JACKSON of this album and I think that’s where she drew inspiration from (hints the red album like Janet’s Control).
love her tone and affliction. She inspired me to work on my diction.
¿Why Aaliyah's albúm dont got a nomination to the grammy's?,the Albúm was so well done, every song was amazing,¡you're missed!.
The highest most exalted no doubt always for ever and ever
Man , I miss her . Rip baby girl .
She could be role model of everything, music, hair style, make up, fashion everything. . She's the Queen. . I still cant accept her premature death :(
Aaliyah girl I miss you. Watching this with tears in my eyes. So sweet so YOU without regrets!!! Wish things were different
I cant believe it's been 20 years. I was 20 when the Red Album came out. RIP Babygirl...GBNF🔥🙏🏾❤
In 4K please ‼️‼️
Like seriously. Fans had this in HD and they pulled it just to upload their version in 480p... 🥴
Damn
Aaliyah…Static…R.I.P.
DMX Too
The album was definitely ahead of it’s time. My favorite songs on the album are I care 4 u, rock the boat, and we need a resolution.
This album brings back so many memories. This was the first album I bought with my own money when it came out
I really miss baby girl and her music What a Beautiful Soul🌹👑💜.

Thank you for this 🥺🙏🏾
Thank you 🙏🏽🥰🥰
Thankyou so, so much 😭
Love this
her face card 😍
She summed up the emotional state of the so called other woman very well. A woman isn’t happy. She feels something is wrong in this whole situation.
Legend ❤️❤️❤️
So if your over 80 don’t try that I’m laughing Aaliyah was funny
Finally!! I been waiting for this to be posted ♥️😊
She haunts me... I know she wants better for me. I love you. I'm never gonna stop "TRYing.
Awesome
Wow 🥺❤️
Aaliyah's a lot of life and a lot of experience light I see the reason why so many people want to work with her she's the best of the best.🙏😇🙏❤️👑
I jus noticed they changed the picture of her album cover on here and played the We Need A Resolution video at the end I remember having the original I Care 4 U DVD and I remember the original completely I wonder why would they change it

Still got the VCD
Why didnt they remaster this?
Upscaling a VHS Tape to 1080p is not pretty. Upscaling a DVD and DigiBeta tape to 1080p would look better.
@@Classical01 this was from the DVD
@@thamsachembe There is a DVD version but this upload is a Tape copy rendered at a low bitrate, A DVD would look a lot more sharper than this.
