Honestly I wear my hand-knit socks all year 'round now and have completely stopped wearing commercial socks--I feel the wool breathes better even though it's so much thicker. I do move toward more lace socks at the height of summer.
Ahh your comment makes me so excited to build up my hand knit sock collection! Do you have any lace socks that you recommend? I’m not familiar with that many beside the petal drop socks and the augusta lace socks!
@@hipknithooray Ooh, the Mercury socks by Kim Drotar is one of my go-to patterns because it's so rhythmic and memorizable. Debbie Ford has a bunch I haven't gotten to yet but keep meaning to knit... I also really enjoyed knitting the Weeping Angel socks by Maire Martin and the Mabon Morn pattern by Eva Romeijn--those definitely feel like some showpiece socks!
I made that basket pattern 2 years ago and I highly recommend it! I will say that the bigger one I made slouched a little so I would recommend making it pretty tightly or going down a crochet size. Love your videos! :)
Oh’ for the crochet basket TL yarn crafts has a stargazer basket video that’s free and a blog pattern. Also uses waistcoat stitch and I’ve made it several times ❤
I’m knitting the champagne cardigan by petite knit atm with double sunday and tynn silk mohair (in brown!) and it’s a super easy heavier cardigan! I reccomend for a heavier layering piece :)
Champagne cardigan is on my to-knit list and also in brown!! I have this chocolate brown wool and mohair ready for a fall cast on ☺️ yours sounds lovely!!
Thank you! I ordered from wool warehouse! They have great sales but just fyi - I find drops dye lots can be hit or miss (colour and softness)! It’s not wool warehouse’s fault but I think sometimes it better to pay a bit more and see the kid silk in person first before purchasing ☺️
Mohair is great in socks because it acts like a natural nylon and strengths the socks. I think they will last a long time
Ooo great tip - thank you! I think I’ll keep the mohair in then for the sock 😊
I really like the Esther Jacket and the crochet basket.
Me too! Especially excited to pick up my crochet hook again
I love your plans ! I want to knit another slipover but also a lace cardigan, a lighter pullover, all the socks ... 😅
Yes to all of those!! We will be matching haha
I love a fleegle heel! I've knit several pairs of the Bear Paw socks by Andrea Mowry, a DK weight toe-up sock including a fleegle heel :)
Ooo glad to hear! I’m excited to try it out ☺️
Your plans for the Humlebi socks sound lovely!! I can’t wait to see how they turn out! ☺️🐝
Was very inspired by yours!! 💛🐝

You should experiment with reds. You'd look great in red, I think!

Ah good to know! I’ll size down a hook size then to make it every sturdier because I was planning on making a large one
Also, Danish Musings made that vest. You should watch her video about that.
Thank you! I’ll have to check the video out ☺️
@@hipknithooray It's in her most recent video.

Ooo thanks for reminding me about that basket! I’ve the built in handles 🙌🏼

@@hipknithooray omg twinning! It’s such a fun knit! You’ll have so much fun!
I like your choice of yarn for your Esther jacket. Where did you order your drops yarn from? Have fun knitting your socks.
