Jeremy, Go compare the winning time to the winning time of the Men's 1500m in the Olympics THEN the world records. It's unusual (Apart from Markus Rehm in the T44 Long Jump) for people with a disability to beat someone who doesn't.
They didn't beat the able bodied runners! Their "record" time was over 20 seconds slower than men in the able bodied race can run. That represents over 150m! Put another way, in a paced Diamond League race, the handicapped runners wouldn't even be in the finishing straight when the the Olympic class able bodied runners had finished the race.
The winner's time of that year ("able bodied runners" gold medal) was 3:50.00 (USA M. Centrowitz). The time for the FOURTH (4º) paralympic racer was 3:49.84 (F. Baka).
He wouldnt need to run the closing 400m in 50 seconds, because he ran more even splits. The regular 1500m is a disgrace, if you don't think so you're contributing to the problem. Why is the 1500m the only even where we don't expect the best times like 800, we watch track to see people run their best, not play mind games and run hs times
Can the silver medalist not see at all?? he mustve misunderstood where the goal was he suddenly stopped running n appealed for peace that mightve been done after race.
Bruh they two should have been allowed in the Original Olympics to kick(or pressurize) all the runners(Including Matthew Centrowitz Jr) in the Rio Olympic 1500m Final coz it was so slow (Although it was tactical) and also one more thing, if Genzebe Dibaba was to break her own 1500m WR(World Record) again she could have probaby even went sub 3.50 then that could be kinda embarassing LOL
pranesh kumar meaning the race wasn't run at a fast pace. The runners chose to run at a slower pace than they are capable of running to save their energy for a sprint finish. You see slow tactical races a lot in championship style races. Where the goal isn't to run a fast time, but to just win. It's very hard to run in the front and run a fast pace so no one does it. They all run slow and wait for their opportunity to make their move.

This race is for athletes with a vision impairment and so they run with a guide. You can find out more about athletics classification here: www.paralympic.org/athletics/classification
Did the 2nd place finisher not know where the end was -- is this what makes him "para", he's not quite aware, what now is called "special"? (Seemed like he was closing and had a chance to win, but entirely gave up at the very end with a few steps left)
Hi Ruth. The athletes in this race are T13 athletes. This means that they have a Visual impairment. You can learn more about Para athletics classification here: www.paralympic.org/athletics/classification

Algerians 1500m Masters, New World Record
Please don't say that this dude would win the Olympics easy, guess he can't close in 50sec...

Much Respect for the Baka brothers.. I'm really impressed
why cant they just run in the olympcis and win it there. thats crazy
Some races are slower because they're more tactical, if they ran in the Olympics they would've been out kicked at the end
ALGERIAAAAAA NEW RECOR , CONGRATULATION BAKA
Am i wrong or the Ethiopian could win the race if he didn't think to do Oromo Protest Symbol?? What a fool!!
Yess that's right , i saw him
I thought he was going to pass him.
Leonard Tough Yea, he was at the edge on winning.
Can the silver medalist not see at all??

incredible.. the time clocked is faster than olympics gold medal time
hangaku selenggara Cause the Olympics was a slow tactical race
It was slow and tactical, the guys in the normal olympics were not going for time, if they were they would have gone 20 seconds faster
