Wow, a year later and this is my second most popular video ever (behind that one Smash Bros. video that was both really boring and almost definitely the reason you're subscribed if you are haha). Thank you to everyone who watched this for your support: I know I hardly ever upload but I do intend to continue making videos, if not for Tears of the Kingdom the next roster video might be out by now.
Here is a clever way to use Mirabel as a fighter. Each of her moves includes a power from her family and her final is a delay grantee critical hit on all parties. It start with a green sandstorm ending with plants exploding on a vision tablet pepa, lusia and Antonio all show up tossing the opponents into the air alma comes in with the candle which turns into a flame thrower as julieta comes in with an food to heal Mirabel and Isabela comes in at the last second to give Mirabel a pollen pod which she slams down right at the perfect time to have the entire stage cover in sundew, Venus flytrap, poison Ivy and other deadly plants granteeing a 50% damage strike. But only if you hit the five button QuickTime event failure Mirabel takes 20% damage
Nice roster! I'm glad that Simba, Judy Hopps, Sora, and Homer Simpson all made it, and I love that you included Tigger and Snow White too! I could see Snow White being a mix of Peach and Olimar with the dwarfs mixed into her moveset. If I could add on two bonus characters, it would be Dumbo and Baloo. Then it would be a perfect roster for me ;o)
Now I’m just imagining Snow White pulling out a dwarf as a shield a la Peach with Toad, just it would randomly choose which one sand give a different effect each time. Also you’re right on with Dumbo, that would be a really cool fighter especially considering there aren’t a lot of other aerial based characters
@@spongehead93 I was thinking something similar regarding Snow White and her dwarfs on the battlefield. Admittedly, Dumbo was a bit of a bias pick since he was my childhood favorite, but he hasn't been playable in a lot of Disney video games, and lack of aerial fighters could provide ample opportunity to bring him in.
Also wanted to give some thoughts on the echo fighters. I can see Beast being an echo for Sulley, but I'm not sure if Mr. Incredible would work as an echo for Wreck-it Ralph due to differences in dimensions and so many different moves to pull from in their own respective films. I'm curious to know how you would make Captain Hook work as an echo for Jack Sparrow, since Captain Hook has a hook hand, but Jack Sparrow does not. I think Scar would make a great echo fighter for Simba, not only because he is so recognizable and popular, but because there's a lot of room for dark/villainous nuances to his moveset to complement Simba's. If not Scar, then maybe Kovu, to represent Lion King 2 (that one would also make my friend happy lol).
I actually could see Marvel and Star Wars being DLC. The only Kingdom Hearts character I could see them choosing would be Sora anyway and I guarantee that if this was real, he’d be DLC as well. The only other Kingdom Hearts representation I could see in the roster is Mickey pulling out his keyblade. It would fit with the magic idea anyway since the Mickey from Sorcerer’s Apprentice is the one King Mickey is mostly based on.
For whatever reason I feel like Disney wouldn’t want to have Mickey actually use a Keyblade in this game. Maybe we could get him in his King Mickey or Organization XIII costumes tho
Personally I was thinking the keyblade would just be in a taunt animation where he says “All for one and one for all” or something as a two hit reference to his time as a musketeer and as king. But that’s as far as I saw that going. The costumes would be great though.
Id love Peter Pan because of just being a huge Pan fan but Tink seems the better idea due to being the icon for disney and the one on every disney opening shes the light going over the castle
Yeah Peter Pan is definitely one I considered but ultimately I didn't think he brought enough unique to the table on his own. Tinkerbell is both more unique and more iconic, acting as a character that represents Disney in a more general sense the same as characters like Jiminy Cricket and The Genie have been.
The big thing i like about this roster is how you didnt choose the option everyone would have. Like choosing Ms. Piggy over kermit, or Simba over timmon and Pumba. Adds some very nice variety to the roster
I'd be surprised if Mickey wasn't the first character revealed for this game. Elsa can be the second reveal in the trailer, but I'd rather kick off the announcement with their big cheese. Or should I say, their eater of big cheeses. Outside of that, I'd be a Day 1 Tigger main, with or without his flaws, strictly because I'm a massive Pooh fan. I love the amount of franchises and characters chosen, though. Like, getting a Muppet in this game, and including the likes of Snow White and Mary Poppins would astonish me. However, I would add one final DLC pack to make it worth it: 1: Donald Duck 2: Figment 3: Bear (Bear in the Big Blue House) 4: Will Vandom (W.I.T.C.H.) In this pass, we get a classic Disney character who was long overdue, a real Disney Parks rep, a Playhouse Disney character, and a Jetix/Saban fighter who depends on which stance you take. My apologies for having the longest comment out of all these.
Haha there’s definitely been longer comments, you’re all good. Bear in the Big Blue House would be fun to include but I just don’t see it, aside from Donald I’d say those DLC characters are just too obscure
Well, I thought adding the European mascot of Disney, a theme park character, and representatives of their old preschool and teen brands could have been worth it. Plus, Will is another female rep, and you did want as close to equality as you could get out of a Disney fighting game. Just my two cents.
While I think its a good roster, I would definitely switch out a few characters. Starting with the base roster, I think Tinkerbelle is too much of a stretch, as we would have to drastically scale her up to work. Instead I would switch in Kida from Atlantis, she has a spear allowing for mid range attacks, is shown to be quite agile, and her going full crystal control could be a good super. Plus Tarzan could be an echo fighter with a different super. I would switch out Isabelle for an obscure choice that fits the same role, in the form of the sprite from Fantasia 2000. She would have similar powers to Isabelle (and if we had to, then Isabelle could be an Echo), while also being a unique design to stand out from the rest of the cast visually. I would switch out Mary Poppins (as I just can't see her actually fighting anyone, trick and manipulate sure, but never fight) with Ariel wielding her father's trident (as shown in some games). She is a popular princess, and the trident could allow her some water spells similar to Rain in Mortal Kombat. I would also switch out Tigger and Simba with Robin Hood and Hercules. Both are classic disney action heroes, and could come with a variety of moves. Hercules could fight bare handed, but his specials include his sword, bow, and grappling techniques. Robin hood, meanwhile, can use both sword and bow in combat, can include special trick shots, and use Merida as an echo. For the villains, I would switch out dr. facilier with John Silver from treasure planet. Most of your selected villains are going to be range fighters, and Silver primarily uses his cyborg arm for combat, allowing for strong, but short range attacks, something the villains need. For marvel, I leave it alone. For star wars, I would switch out Han Solo, for Ray, using her staff and lightsaber together, just to include all eras of starwars (classic, prequel, disney, and tv). For "girl power", I'd drop Scarlet witch, for something from disney's tv productions. Specifically, Spinelli from Recess. Rougher brawler that can also use dodgeballs as projectiles. Lastly, I would switch out Alien for Predator, because of the movie Prey being an early success for Disney plus, and the Alien may be to monstrous for this game.
Lol I’d love to see a vid of all of this. Can’t help but disagree with a lot of your changes tho. You’re taking a lot of my weird picks and replacing them with kinda stock alternatives. Plus I just don’t see Disney wanting to promote a lot of the properties you’re suggesting, I also grew up on early 2000s Disney shows/movies but I don’t see them emphasizing any of that stuff in a game like this.
@@spongehead93 thats fair. I also admit that both kida and the sprite from fantasia 2000 are odd choices that I admit are just my preference. However, while recess is not currently being pushed, it was a major show from that era, and I thought Spinelli would work better as a character young girls could see themselves as over Scarlet witch. I still think Ariel would be a better fit then Mary Poppins, and Disney does push her far more then they do Mary. As for my choice of villain with Silver over Facilier, I did make my choices of one per film series, and I thought the villains needed someone more physical, as most of them seem to fit a magical archetype. Most of Disney's more physical attacking villains are male, and I thought Silver was the best without breaking the 1 per film series rule, otherwise, I might have suggested Gaston or Shego

I think someone mentioned Stevie at some point and I now feel like that’s a bit of a glaring omission from this video. If there’s gonna be a Homer echo I think I’d want to make it Krusty the Klown, meanwhile if Peter was a character his echo could be the Chicken Man 😂
@@spongehead93Maybe give her a move that slowly heals her if uninterrupted, and a big energy burst for a strong aoe move. Just one little touch I'd personally make as well: instead of using Sorcerer Mickey for the umpteenth time, why not have him pull from his toony side? Think Peacock from Skullgirls or Bugs in Multiversus for an idea of what I mean by that.

I could definitely see Scrat working here, would more sense tonally than the Xenomorph at least. Or maybe knock off Sora and then that whole pass would be characters from the Fox buyout.
@@spongehead93 Well, i think if you replace one of the 4 star wars characters, by ahsoka (maybe obi-wan or han solo), there would be space for another female character, you could aqua from kingdom hearts there and remove sora, i know it's a weird choice, but most of the characters in the roster aren't the main protagonist anyway, so i think it's not too absurd.
@@spongehead93 Honestly even though you made a more realistic approach in this video, i think you should do one where you go all out, putting like a big number of characters, smash ultimate style like 89 or something. just because it would be like, fun, and to see more like the full potential that disney could have in a crossover like this.
I would put third party charather like marvel or star war in dlc like dlc 1 would be star war dlc 2 would be marvel dlc 3 would thing like Kermit or ice age character but it good

I'm......... really not sure how to feel about that, it's never crossed my mind before. I guess I kinda feel like it'd be a disservice to the character because those two both have very distinct utilizations of their powers and they're very different, but like yeah, I could totally see it working in action. More than anything, I just want to watch a really good animation of those two fighting, has anyone done that? Damn, Death Battle get on that. Side note but I remember a mobile game where Frozone was the only Incredibles character in. Don't remember what it was called but I think it kinda looked like Fall Guys? Buzz was also there?

Oh and considering that you have said it would be a more traditional Fighting Game, I think for Xenomorph you can take some inspiration with moves from their appearance in Mortal Kombat X(minus the Tarkatan arm blades).

If I was going to do a video with DreamWorks characters in it, I’d probably just do an overall universal thing. Include illumination, Jurassic Park, monsters, etc..

Well this is the first I’m hearing of it. Looking into it there seems to be a lot of specific references in footage that I can’t find, so I’m gonna guess that means said footage got taken down and is probably legit. Seems the character roster is leaning on Marvel and Star Wars way more than mine, which is probably to be expected. Idk, like I say at the beginning of the vid, this whole concept was a bit of an inevitability. If it is legit, we’ll I hope the devs have seen this vid and think some of my picks are cool haha.
Yeah I mean if you want, I feel like Helen just has the most interesting potential for a move set out of all of them. Honestly all of the Incredibles would be cool fighters tho, like imagine if Jack-Jack was a fighter
That’s a fun idea but I think Sully fills a pretty standard fighting game archetype well. He’s recognizable, he’s beloved, he’s obvious, I don’t see any reason to rock the boat with him.
Rey is one I was kinda going back and forth on including. As of right now, it seems like Disney is trying to distance themselves from that trilogy due to the controversy around them so I made my picks reflect that. I could easily see her taking the spots I made for Obi-Wan or Ahsoka, tho.
I considered a few different characters from The Little Mermaid but I was having a hard time figuring out how they’d work, it’s hard to imagine how characters that move around in the water with no feet would move around in this kind of setting

Like she'd mainly fight with her bow, which I'm not sure you could build a whole moveset around: I think it'd work better as just one tool in a character that had several, which is how it's implemented for Mulan. Same goes for Robin Hood, I just don't see what would make him a unique fighter.
Wendy is female and that's what I was counting, these days Smash has a lot of characters that are either male or female depending on which skin you use.
Why are people so small minded when making rosters like this. Disney has an unlimited amount of characters. This game would release with maybe 30 characters, and they could probably maintain a new character every 2 weeks for 2 years. Disney just simply has enough for that to happen and I see no reason why not. I dont get the 1 character per movie rule. I think what's more interesting then debating characters, because probably all characters people want will get in the game, is to debate the stages/maps. Me personally think it should be a smash bros type of game, rather than street fighter.

I’d much rather have a fighting game with 15 characters where they all are unique, balanced, and fun to play as than one with a roster of 50+ where the devs clearly weren’t able to properly implement and think through each one. The reason that Smash Ultimate is able to have 80+ characters and make it work is because 1. It’s one of the flagship games by one of the most major game companies and 2. They had several previous installments over literal decades develop those characters. You’re basically suggesting that Disney, a company that has just announced huge cuts to their spending, make an original game on the scale of Smash Ultimate. If you think that game would be anything other than a train wreck idk what to tell you. Pro-tip: don’t start a comment by calling people you disagree with “small-minded”. It makes you seem like a pompous asshole.

pretty odd roster. It has a hint of trying to be Politically Correct which i totally expect Disney to do instead of just putting the coolest characters in. They'll totally bring in a series and then just make the character from that series be some side character because it's a person of color or pushes the LGBTQ agenda (smh)

Wow, a year later and this is my second most popular video ever (behind that one Smash Bros. video that was both really boring and almost definitely the reason you're subscribed if you are haha). Thank you to everyone who watched this for your support: I know I hardly ever upload but I do intend to continue making videos, if not for Tears of the Kingdom the next roster video might be out by now.
Here is a clever way to use Mirabel as a fighter. Each of her moves includes a power from her family and her final is a delay grantee critical hit on all parties. It start with a green sandstorm ending with plants exploding on a vision tablet pepa, lusia and Antonio all show up tossing the opponents into the air alma comes in with the candle which turns into a flame thrower as julieta comes in with an food to heal Mirabel and Isabela comes in at the last second to give Mirabel a pollen pod which she slams down right at the perfect time to have the entire stage cover in sundew, Venus flytrap, poison Ivy and other deadly plants granteeing a 50% damage strike. But only if you hit the five button QuickTime event failure Mirabel takes 20% damage

Nice roster! I'm glad that Simba, Judy Hopps, Sora, and Homer Simpson all made it, and I love that you included Tigger and Snow White too! I could see Snow White being a mix of Peach and Olimar with the dwarfs mixed into her moveset. If I could add on two bonus characters, it would be Dumbo and Baloo. Then it would be a perfect roster for me ;o)
Now I’m just imagining Snow White pulling out a dwarf as a shield a la Peach with Toad, just it would randomly choose which one sand give a different effect each time. Also you’re right on with Dumbo, that would be a really cool fighter especially considering there aren’t a lot of other aerial based characters
@@spongehead93 I was thinking something similar regarding Snow White and her dwarfs on the battlefield. Admittedly, Dumbo was a bit of a bias pick since he was my childhood favorite, but he hasn't been playable in a lot of Disney video games, and lack of aerial fighters could provide ample opportunity to bring him in.
Also wanted to give some thoughts on the echo fighters. I can see Beast being an echo for Sulley, but I'm not sure if Mr. Incredible would work as an echo for Wreck-it Ralph due to differences in dimensions and so many different moves to pull from in their own respective films. I'm curious to know how you would make Captain Hook work as an echo for Jack Sparrow, since Captain Hook has a hook hand, but Jack Sparrow does not. I think Scar would make a great echo fighter for Simba, not only because he is so recognizable and popular, but because there's a lot of room for dark/villainous nuances to his moveset to complement Simba's. If not Scar, then maybe Kovu, to represent Lion King 2 (that one would also make my friend happy lol).

I actually could see Marvel and Star Wars being DLC. The only Kingdom Hearts character I could see them choosing would be Sora anyway and I guarantee that if this was real, he’d be DLC as well. The only other Kingdom Hearts representation I could see in the roster is Mickey pulling out his keyblade. It would fit with the magic idea anyway since the Mickey from Sorcerer’s Apprentice is the one King Mickey is mostly based on.
For whatever reason I feel like Disney wouldn’t want to have Mickey actually use a Keyblade in this game. Maybe we could get him in his King Mickey or Organization XIII costumes tho
Personally I was thinking the keyblade would just be in a taunt animation where he says “All for one and one for all” or something as a two hit reference to his time as a musketeer and as king. But that’s as far as I saw that going.
The costumes would be great though.

Id love Peter Pan because of just being a huge Pan fan but Tink seems the better idea due to being the icon for disney and the one on every disney opening shes the light going over the castle
Yeah Peter Pan is definitely one I considered but ultimately I didn't think he brought enough unique to the table on his own. Tinkerbell is both more unique and more iconic, acting as a character that represents Disney in a more general sense the same as characters like Jiminy Cricket and The Genie have been.
The big thing i like about this roster is how you didnt choose the option everyone would have. Like choosing Ms. Piggy over kermit, or Simba over timmon and Pumba. Adds some very nice variety to the roster

I'd be surprised if Mickey wasn't the first character revealed for this game. Elsa can be the second reveal in the trailer, but I'd rather kick off the announcement with their big cheese. Or should I say, their eater of big cheeses.
Outside of that, I'd be a Day 1 Tigger main, with or without his flaws, strictly because I'm a massive Pooh fan. I love the amount of franchises and characters chosen, though. Like, getting a Muppet in this game, and including the likes of Snow White and Mary Poppins would astonish me.
However, I would add one final DLC pack to make it worth it:

3: Bear (Bear in the Big Blue House)
4: Will Vandom (W.I.T.C.H.)
In this pass, we get a classic Disney character who was long overdue, a real Disney Parks rep, a Playhouse Disney character, and a Jetix/Saban fighter who depends on which stance you take.

Well, I thought adding the European mascot of Disney, a theme park character, and representatives of their old preschool and teen brands could have been worth it. Plus, Will is another female rep, and you did want as close to equality as you could get out of a Disney fighting game. Just my two cents.
While I think its a good roster, I would definitely switch out a few characters. Starting with the base roster, I think Tinkerbelle is too much of a stretch, as we would have to drastically scale her up to work. Instead I would switch in Kida from Atlantis, she has a spear allowing for mid range attacks, is shown to be quite agile, and her going full crystal control could be a good super. Plus Tarzan could be an echo fighter with a different super. I would switch out Isabelle for an obscure choice that fits the same role, in the form of the sprite from Fantasia 2000. She would have similar powers to Isabelle (and if we had to, then Isabelle could be an Echo), while also being a unique design to stand out from the rest of the cast visually. I would switch out Mary Poppins (as I just can't see her actually fighting anyone, trick and manipulate sure, but never fight) with Ariel wielding her father's trident (as shown in some games). She is a popular princess, and the trident could allow her some water spells similar to Rain in Mortal Kombat. I would also switch out Tigger and Simba with Robin Hood and Hercules. Both are classic disney action heroes, and could come with a variety of moves. Hercules could fight bare handed, but his specials include his sword, bow, and grappling techniques. Robin hood, meanwhile, can use both sword and bow in combat, can include special trick shots, and use Merida as an echo. For the villains, I would switch out dr. facilier with John Silver from treasure planet. Most of your selected villains are going to be range fighters, and Silver primarily uses his cyborg arm for combat, allowing for strong, but short range attacks, something the villains need. For marvel, I leave it alone. For star wars, I would switch out Han Solo, for Ray, using her staff and lightsaber together, just to include all eras of starwars (classic, prequel, disney, and tv). For "girl power", I'd drop Scarlet witch, for something from disney's tv productions. Specifically, Spinelli from Recess. Rougher brawler that can also use dodgeballs as projectiles. Lastly, I would switch out Alien for Predator, because of the movie Prey being an early success for Disney plus, and the Alien may be to monstrous for this game.

Can’t help but disagree with a lot of your changes tho. You’re taking a lot of my weird picks and replacing them with kinda stock alternatives. Plus I just don’t see Disney wanting to promote a lot of the properties you’re suggesting, I also grew up on early 2000s Disney shows/movies but I don’t see them emphasizing any of that stuff in a game like this.
@@spongehead93 thats fair. I also admit that both kida and the sprite from fantasia 2000 are odd choices that I admit are just my preference. However, while recess is not currently being pushed, it was a major show from that era, and I thought Spinelli would work better as a character young girls could see themselves as over Scarlet witch. I still think Ariel would be a better fit then Mary Poppins, and Disney does push her far more then they do Mary. As for my choice of villain with Silver over Facilier, I did make my choices of one per film series, and I thought the villains needed someone more physical, as most of them seem to fit a magical archetype. Most of Disney's more physical attacking villains are male, and I thought Silver was the best without breaking the 1 per film series rule, otherwise, I might have suggested Gaston or Shego

Honestly this is a great idea for a base roster. But personally I’d love to see the addition of Peter Griffin as Homer’s echo fighter.
I think someone mentioned Stevie at some point and I now feel like that’s a bit of a glaring omission from this video. If there’s gonna be a Homer echo I think I’d want to make it Krusty the Klown, meanwhile if Peter was a character his echo could be the Chicken Man 😂

Just one little touch I'd personally make as well: instead of using Sorcerer Mickey for the umpteenth time, why not have him pull from his toony side? Think Peacock from Skullgirls or Bugs in Multiversus for an idea of what I mean by that.

It's weird to have no ice age characters, but it's a good roster overall.
I could definitely see Scrat working here, would more sense tonally than the Xenomorph at least. Or maybe knock off Sora and then that whole pass would be characters from the Fox buyout.
@@spongehead93 Well, i think if you replace one of the 4 star wars characters, by ahsoka (maybe obi-wan or han solo), there would be space for another female character, you could aqua from kingdom hearts there and remove sora, i know it's a weird choice, but most of the characters in the roster aren't the main protagonist anyway, so i think it's not too absurd.

I'm......... really not sure how to feel about that, it's never crossed my mind before. I guess I kinda feel like it'd be a disservice to the character because those two both have very distinct utilizations of their powers and they're very different, but like yeah, I could totally see it working in action. More than anything, I just want to watch a really good animation of those two fighting, has anyone done that? Damn, Death Battle get on that.

Oh and considering that you have said it would be a more traditional Fighting Game, I think for Xenomorph you can take some inspiration with moves from their appearance in Mortal Kombat X(minus the Tarkatan arm blades).

Well this is the first I’m hearing of it. Looking into it there seems to be a lot of specific references in footage that I can’t find, so I’m gonna guess that means said footage got taken down and is probably legit. Seems the character roster is leaning on Marvel and Star Wars way more than mine, which is probably to be expected.

Rey is one I was kinda going back and forth on including. As of right now, it seems like Disney is trying to distance themselves from that trilogy due to the controversy around them so I made my picks reflect that. I could easily see her taking the spots I made for Obi-Wan or Ahsoka, tho.
Also you could probably put Kylo Ren as an echo for Darth Vader, or maybe even a Rey echo for Obi-Wan, if you really want.

The two occupy too similar of a niche to have both and I feel like Alien is a more well-regarded and iconic series. It is kinda weird tho I'll admit, the two series have such entangled legacies at this point that it feels kinda incomplete to just have one or the either.

Ehh, I just don't think she brings anything that interesting to the table. Like she'd mainly fight with her bow, which I'm not sure you could build a whole moveset around: I think it'd work better as just one tool in a character that had several, which is how it's implemented for Mulan. Same goes for Robin Hood, I just don't see what would make him a unique fighter.

Why are people so small minded when making rosters like this. Disney has an unlimited amount of characters. This game would release with maybe 30 characters, and they could probably maintain a new character every 2 weeks for 2 years. Disney just simply has enough for that to happen and I see no reason why not. I dont get the 1 character per movie rule. I think what's more interesting then debating characters, because probably all characters people want will get in the game, is to debate the stages/maps. Me personally think it should be a smash bros type of game, rather than street fighter.
You ever heard the phrase “quality over quantity”? I’d much rather have a fighting game with 15 characters where they all are unique, balanced, and fun to play as than one with a roster of 50+ where the devs clearly weren’t able to properly implement and think through each one. The reason that Smash Ultimate is able to have 80+ characters and make it work is because 1. It’s one of the flagship games by one of the most major game companies and 2. They had several previous installments over literal decades develop those characters. You’re basically suggesting that Disney, a company that has just announced huge cuts to their spending, make an original game on the scale of Smash Ultimate. If you think that game would be anything other than a train wreck idk what to tell you.
