Just came back here for the first time in a long time, and BIG CONGRATS to you kids who grew up to be scientists!! 🥲😍 I remember sending the video file to so many of your teachers when RUclips was not allowed in a lot of schools yet.
And THANKS to everyone who remembers this song fondly and/or still enjoys it. ❤ You better believe I'm still a CERN fangirl. Yes Higgs - now where are those extra dimensions??

Heard this in middle school 6 years ago.
Now pursuing a degree in Theoretical Physics starting this October :)
I still come back here often :)
Hopefully I get the chance to work at CERN or something similar!

Thank you quite a bit, I found this song in middle school when I was having quite a rough time. Physics was what gave me a future to strive for, and you inspired me way back then to continue forward no matter what. I’m about to declare my double major in mathematics and physics and I hope to be in time to find those extra dimensions!

Best science video *ever* and an inspiration for me as I've been selected to lead a team competing in Sigma Xi's #SciCommMake2022. I'm the scientist, and I'll be matched with an artist and science communicator with the theme being 'Public Health For All.' Thanks for making it cool for geeks and nerds to rap!

This has been living in my head, rent-free, for twelve years now. I think it got played in an assembly when I was in secondary school? Anyway, 'LHCB SEES WHERE THE ANTIMATTER'S GONE-' really does just play in my head on repeat. I came back to this expecting it to be lovely and cringey, but instead it's lovely and GOOD. The rap is actually good? The video is really sweet? This is some top-quality sci comm. Thank you for this wonderful creation

In 2008 I was 11 years old in my first year of secondary school and this video inspired the hell out of me. We used to watch it at the end of a science class, sing it at lunchtime, and every one of us thought that being a CERN physicist riding around in a fiat panda wearing a hard hat was the coolest thing in the world. Ten years later I'm in the final year of my physics degree thinking about where to study as a postgrad, and watching this still brings a smile to my face like it did the very first time. Thank you alpinekat, you've inspired a generation of scientists.

The most beautiful part in that song: "if the Higgs exists they out to see it right away, and if it doesn't, scientists will finally say "there is no Higgs we need new physics to account for why things have mass, something in our Standard Model went awry.".".
An important part of science is being willing to discard a model if contrary evidence surfaces.

For the function of time for particles moving at a given speed s
[f(d) = d/s = t], you could say [t = f(d)], or time = a function of distance, which is a measure or space, therefore I guess you could argue that for some functions, time is a function of space
