This was produced by a group of students, probably filmed with they mobile phone, and edited with some free linux tool. We only saw it 2 days ago, and we think that its poor quality is part of what makes it cool!
Damn dude you should be made emperor of the world. Your amazing insights into the secrets of life would surely initiate a new age of enlightenment and happiness for all mankind.
I love you so much! Writing raps and songs about science is really such an excellent way to teach and explain it. I hope I can use your work to teach my kids about the LHC when I'm teaching next year!
I'm 34, the first time I've ever listened to a rap song has got to be around 1989, but I've never heard of this one which is obviously the best rap song ever made!! Science rules!!
Brilliant! Deserves to be put on a gold plated DVD and sent out on the next Interstellar satellite to be launched by NASA. Any ET'ers that might one day find it will conclude that those Earthlings know their particle physics stuff and will cancel their own LHC project and wait for us to (hopefully) just send another DVD with the CERN LHC Test results in rap release 2! Really cool Alpinekat!
Thanks! This is the only thing that has helped me understand particle physics at all, and believe me I have tried! I agree with the other poster - Schoolhouse Rock rocks and you should get the vid out to high schoolers and maybe middle schoolers. Also the backup dancers are great; make sure they know that. If you do any more editing, I would suggest changing the font color of the subtitles to something darker when you have the light background. Great job!
haha this was great guys!!! I just got back from CERN - I think this would be better received among those who understand what the lyrics are about. That chorus was awesome!! ALICE and lead ions - brilliant!! Keep on posting vids like this!!
Hahahaha that's sooooo cool! Particle physics and music together with such an awesome result! I totally loved it! It could definitely become a hit! Hahahahaha so clever!
I did a project on this. I could count watching this homework! Good job on this! The sensors have so much more about them than the stuff you said. Good summary though.
GREAT video! Very funny, really! Nice lyrics, explains wells what they're doing in there! Great job our scients are doing, collecting more and more information about our universe and all the things in it! Keep on working, guys!
Great job, I wish it was in the charts. Why shouldn't our folk music be about 'stuff' we are doing today. I don't think I have bothered to listen to pop lyrics since about 1980 but I listened to every word in this song. Nice one Alpinekat you lucky person.
Precisely. This is not meant to be an Academic nor scientific channel, but a communication medium for scientific vulgarization targeted to non-Physicists. If you are loooking for academic and technical level information, please refer to our intranet websites, our scientific reports or to a University.
I reckon this is great because i've read a lot about particle physics to know the LHC is definitely worth it and since a lot of people these days listen to rap music, this is a great way of communicating the information to people who don't like to read books.
And always the ultimate unspoken commandment is "Thou shalt not question!" But we question. We break that commandment as a matter of course. The work to which we have set ourselves is the liberating of the imagination, the harnessing of imagination to humankind's deepest sense of creativity.
i used to want to be a quantum physicist in CERN. but as i went to highschool and cannot get a proper physics education for three years i gave up that dream. now its 3rd year in HS and im a linguistics student but this is super cool and makes me remember my dreams :)
hahahahaha the best thing ever! :D i loved it, and i learned a lot. It seems like students are having a lot of fun at CERN! xD man i wish i could study physics and work at CERN...
Really liked this video .. made the LHC real for those of us with a basic interest in physics. Still wondering about how likely the higgs-boson is and whether string theory has any real foundings ... the LHC rocks because it's trying to solve some of those things :)

You are all absolute legends! Thank you :)
Where is a current update version of this part 2 ..?! We need MORE Hits!!
This has to be a ploy by the organization. What could they be up to, i'll keep you noted. El Psy Kongroo
Reminds me of when I visited the LHC, it was wonderful! Standing eye to eye with a collider felt amazing.
wow
Fabulous! Great job sharing some very elusive content in an entertaining way!
Still jamming to this in 2015!
CERN!!!
2020 and still going strong
@@ArunKumar-ms2ew 2021!
2023 Everybody!
In 2024 this island go crazy
This is a great video. I finally understood what the LHC is all about. CERN rocks!
Love it, wished I was Physics teacher so I could use this to teach kids!
Great beat!!! nice work CERN!!!
Innovative, accurate, creative.
Thanks for the cool skit and rap.
Best wishes, Mark

I LOVE this rap!
Well explained! I cant wait to see what this brings to light!

first *educational rap* i heard..
oh man, I have actually specifically been looking for "Large Hadron Collider Rap" for months. Kate McAlpine, you make dreams come true! =D
"I'm about to drop some particle physics in da club"
LOOL
you guys rock and roll - total respect to you
i wish i was back in school
good luck next week

Great song. Thank you very much for it!!
This is just great! Very good job!
I'm so jealous of everyone working on that project...just to brag that you revolutionized physics......
haha this was great guys!!! I just got back from CERN - I think this would be better received among those who understand what the lyrics are about. That chorus was awesome!! ALICE and lead ions - brilliant!! Keep on posting vids like this!!
You totally rock !! Keep Your nerd on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That has to be the best clip on RUclips ever! I hope that you are all scientists in the vid, that wouldmake it even more awesome!! CERN is so amazing.
Cool video and cool song. I think science and engineering need more of this kind of creativity.
Thank you and bravaeu!!!!!!!!!!
i am con/cern/ed
This is simply GREAT, should be part of a every physics class in the world!
Hahahaha that's sooooo cool! Particle physics and music together with such an awesome result! I totally loved it! It could definitely become a hit! Hahahahaha so clever!
increible que se halla echo realidad !!!!!!
felicitaciones atodos los que participaron e se interesan por el progreso de la comprencion !!!!
Hi friends of the CERN my hat off to you for this creative way of teaching science, Best Carlos
Two thumbs up...great work Mlle McAlpine..made our local talk radio site..WTOP News in DC....Mike
The fact that this was actually released by CERN is just funny but great hahah
I did a project on this. I could count watching this homework! Good job on this! The sensors have so much more about them than the stuff you said. Good summary though.
Great! Loved it.
Our physics teacher showed us this today, interesting how our knowledge has grown since
I like it. Good Job.
You Rock Kate. Don't stop.
Fantastic!
Kate your good. Please do another video.
Oh, I LOVED this. Physics is phun, and so are physicists.
pretty good job with the video and informative.
I LOVE IT!! THANK U!
Pretty good, and I learned something too!
School House Rock, revisited!! Thanks for the info!
Fantastic
Brilliant!

legendary song!!!
OMG, wat a great song which helps me to know more about CERN and LHC~
AWESOME!!!!!
thanks!

This is simply GREAT, is for that i want to be a sientist
CERN unironically made a rap song just to celebrate the launch of the LHC.
Love it.
I reckon this is great because i've read a lot about particle physics to know the LHC is definitely worth it and since a lot of people these days listen to rap music, this is a great way of communicating the information to people who don't like to read books.
I wanna work at CERN!!! O___O
Same, though I'd settle for simply living near it :)
Did you work
Dang! That's great!
2018 anyone? Will be back for the 10nth anniversary (7/31). Who with me?
I need to make this my cellphone's tone for some reason.. i just feel the need :/
just brilliant!
yay! You go, girl!
heard about this song on 1070 AM news radio out here in los angeles. interesting song.
Perfect Paul! Nice to hear some DECTalk! DEC in da house! Or in da computer. Or what have you.
There is more information in this video than my entire science class could muster about the LHC.
This is the best song EVER!
"matter's evil twin"
genius from the geniuses, thanks
This is my fourth favorite RUclips video

Priceless.
i used to want to be a quantum physicist in CERN. but as i went to highschool and cannot get a proper physics education for three years i gave up that dream. now its 3rd year in HS and im a linguistics student but this is super cool and makes me remember my dreams :)
and nice beat to
Word to your molecule!
Genius!
hahahahaha the best thing ever! :D
i loved it, and i learned a lot.
It seems like students are having a lot of fun at CERN! xD man i wish i could study physics and work at CERN...
McAlpine Rocks... more physics please!
i think im in love
I'm in love
Im gonna put this on my ipod :)
haha, nice job, good luck with your work
Kate McAlpine is teh hotness! Very nice, can't wait for the first result set.
This is history.
Loved
Fantastic. :D
If nothing else would've convinced me on the importance of funding the LHC, this surely would.
Is she selling her song yet? Would love to buy this wonderful physics rap she did.
Awsome
yo! Dude! Physics, like, is totally SICK!
well i watched this in a science lesson and the sound wasnt messed up like RUclipss but still very informantal
hahahhaha that is awesome! not only does it demonstrate classic old-school flow but its very informative. and funny as shit
AWESOME!
(astrophysics major)
Really liked this video .. made the LHC real for those of us with a basic interest in physics. Still wondering about how likely the higgs-boson is and whether string theory has any real foundings ... the LHC rocks because it's trying to solve some of those things :)
Awesome! :-)))
Is there a version with constant volume? That would make this much more watchable.
As CERN is a more than 50 years old institute, can we classify this as old school rap?
that was funny and entertaining....
that demonic machine rocks a lot!! oh yeah!.
This reminds me of the Bill Nye closing songs, only longer. It's funny too! :-D
i agree
