Your backyard is epic lol , I enjoy driving down the 101 from Washington. Next we come through Oregon we are definitely stopping by your store. Thanks for all the great videos
I use compressed air to clean the cars and change the bearings more often than when I'm not running in the sand. I never use a lubricant in the sand because the sand sticks to it and makes the problem worse, except for the diffs , I use white lithium grease in there and usually earplugs for the spider gears.
As I started watching, I recognized the dunes you were riding. Yerp spent many days playing at the Oregon dunes. Only on 2 wheels. Dirt pickles. I'm in the Albany area. Love to hook up some day. Have Fun
When you guys run these monsters on sand, do you disconnect the motor/ESC fans so the sand doesn't destroy them. Any tips for running on sand to keep bearings and other things from imploding prematurely.
I dont use any lubricants, I keep my fans connected and try to keep and eye on them while running to keep the sand out and replace my bearing more often than most, I use fast eddys and sometimes Jim's bearings. I always aware of the rolling resistance on my rcs in the sand. Always use an air hose whe I'm done as well and blow out every knock and cranny when I'm done running.
Hi, amazing video, after running on the sand dunes, what cleaning do you do? pressurized air, water, brush, lubricate everything at the end? Is the sand dangerous? any special advice? thanks
No lubrication. Compressed air. I only rinse after beach use to get rid of the salt. It wears out bearings, and to keep your diff gears good, clean them occasionally, because the sand will slowly get in and turn the diff fluid into a black grime. Not dangerous at all.
There off the oregon coast, from Florence Oregon to coos Bay Oregon. They are about 50 miles long and 1-4 miles wide. There are the largest coastal sand dunes in North America! There are also wet dunes with rolling sand dunes instead of big bowls like dunes usually form
Definitely, what is your point? They absolutely are mine and I will run paddles in the back only for the rest of my life! It's the best way to run them in the sand and if you disagree then run 4 and mess your car up😄. Do what makes YOU happy with your rcs man🤙
@@RCdune Well - yes and no. You made a video and came down on a manufacturer because the front tire separated "on the very first run". Now, why do ya think that happened...?
Because the glue let loose, and because when you wheelie the center diff transferes the power to the front tires no matter what kind of tires tour running. I'm surprised you're not aware of that, it would have happened with ot without paddles. That center diff needs taken apart and ear plugs put in replacement of the diff fluid. Problem solved then.
Really doesnt matter front or rear diameter size because of the center diff negating the difference. If it had a solid center diff like the typhon 3s, then it would matter.
Why you don’t use paddles on all 4 instead only the rears? (I’m want to drive my xrt on the beach but the tires are exspensive so if I only have to buy 2 for the rears it’s better for my wallet 😂)
The front tires are more for steering with rcs and having paddles in the front just fills your rc with sand and slows you donw on the top end because its having to scoop so much more sand when it already has more than enough traction. I'm almost 40 and have been playing in the sand my whole life. Make sure to seal up the 2 holes on the inside of the rims with duct tape or hit glue before you go in the sand and good luck.🤙
I live here and play in the sand every time i take my cars out. The sand isn't as hard on bearings as everyone thinks, their sealed bearings. Sand is actually easier on rcs than hard packed dirt or anything else! I say rule no. 1 with rc is to HAVE FUN!
Absolutely. If you do your PM's the sand is no different then fine dirt. People that say sand is bad for your rig's, should find a different sport to play. It is no different than riding your dirt pickles or 4wheelers. Have Fun
@@RCdune No problem. I just don't watch rc videos with music. Can't stand shorts also! I didn't sign up on yt to make videos. I signed up because someone had some information I needed. Not a hard concept to understand.
This is why you need so many RCs because they continuously break
You guy picked a great area to run these toys!

OMG you guys are having a blast there, would love to join 😝
Awesome video. Nice playground.💯👌👍
How do you clean your RCs after a sand/beach run? I live in OR too and thinking of going out there but don't want to destroy my RCs

They are yours, so do what you want with them - but, those are 4WD RC's geared to run the same diameter tires front and back... no??

Great fun that sand gets everywhere all those bearings will be toast . Rule no 1 don’t take rc. Cars in sand . No no no no
