I have seen that jaw movement before and always wondered why someone would do that. I didn't know it had any effect on what the listener hears, and now I do. From a consumer standpoint I actually like hearing the spaces between the notes in a run. Also it's a lot easier for me to break down the runs to learn myself given I'm not a trained singer. 🤣

I've seen the video and I've also seen two different live versions of the song you being one of the two. Demi is so good, that her live performances are usually better because of the impression she leaves.

That's your opera opinion about her mouth movement every other vocal coach and singer that I have seen watch this video say it actually makes no difference. But they also all have said that opera singers would say exactly what you're saying.

Just curious. Have you ever heard of Christina Ramos? She has appeared on a few " (country's) Got Talent " shows. I first noticed her on Spain's Got Talent. She starts her performance singing opera and then switching to rock. I think you might find the mix interesting.

I whole-heartedly agree with what you said about the verse transitioning into the bridge. It's a "mistake" that a lot of singers seem to make, where they don't give themselves enough time to breathe or to properly adjust to what's coming next. It makes it sound awkward or like something happened, but it's just them trying to replicate the studio version into a live-performance, which is quite hard to do in real-life. I guess musicianship would play a huge role in avoiding this sort of hiccup in the future.
it's all a personal preference too. she knows the song well enough to know how maneuver through and into the bridge. and I'm sure she knows of the alternative but wanted to take this route, which is perfectly fine ☺️
