i had all of them removed at once and 3 of them had hooks and i didn't need anything. didn't need painkillers. all i needed to do was chew a bit of bubblegum to keep the swelling down and that was it. sure i couldn't eat some types of food because of the wounds but still.

Believe me you do not want those sockets to fuck up in the healing process I’ve seen people in so much pain that they ripped house phones out of the walls with ease
I got dry sockets back when I got mine out and it took forever for them to heal and it was super painful. One thing that helped a lot, though, was clove oil. My dentist packed my sockets with gauze with clove oil and it helped so, so much. I still needed painkillers and couldn’t do much of anything, but at least I didn’t want to punch thru a wall or kms.
I hope Naomi makes a swift recovery, wisdom teeth are just awful as fuck.
Recently got an x-ray. My bottom wisdom teeth are horizontal with the front towards my other teeth. Fun stuff.
Oh and one of my top wisdom teeth is growing at a 40 degree angle towards my cheek. Thankfully that not a big problem.
Bottom two took 2 hours a piece because they had to chisel them out of my jaw. Top two came out in 10 minutes (counting the numbing injection kicking in lmao). Terrible experiences altogether, so i empathize

Problem is stigmatizing people for having a disorder isn't helpful (regardless of how offensive we find said disorder). Stigmatization of actual crime is great, but this broad stigmatization probably hurts more than it helps.
For people this stigmatization, at best, stops some crime while at the same time alienating some people to the point of committing crime.
And for science this stigmatization makes it harder to study this disorder.

Had all 4 of my wisdom teeth pulled back in 2016. My insurance wouldn't cover general anesthesia so I was awake the whole time the dentist was wrenching them out, with just local anesthetic to numb away the pain. Wasn't a fun time, but I'm pretty sure I only had to take a couple days off work. Hopefully Naomi's recovery is quicker than expected.

I lived on mashed potatoes and scrambled eggs after I got my wisdom teeth out. Tell Naomi to take her painkillers regularly (I didn't bc I was given bad advice about using ibuprofen instead of my prescribed painkillers). I hope she feels better soon.

Dev, I don't know how it is in Canada, but you have no idea just how genuinely, pathologically, virulently racist Black Americans are. It's not just some random cultural quirk either, it's a regimented, culturally enforced mindset that is passed down to and enforced in young black kids by their parents. I grew up with it, a lot of my friends grew up with it, other young people I know are being taught that same bs.
