I can't understand the one "thumbs down" on this. Allen was such a gentleman & a talented songwriter, singer, and producer. He is greatly missed. A new Orleans treasure. And again thanks to Elvis Costello for getting Allen back on the road touring after Hurricane Katrina. We saw him live a couple of times before he passed. Great shows!
True Story. I was playing maraccas on someone's step by Pal's, And Toussaint was rolling down the street in his Rolls, and waved at us. RIP Allen. You are still the Master.
I have never seen Robbie Robertson look so nervous & nerded out! Such a fanboy, that's so sweet. We here in New Orleans have always loved Allen Toussaint, it's nice that he finally got more recognition before he passed.

James Dupre The thumbs down was probably from a disgruntled runner- up who didn’t get voted in that year.
probably a die-hard Band fan who can't stand Robbie
Pretty sure the thumbs down are for Robertson, not Toussaint
He was so humble. What a treasure for new orleans

so cool! I don't think I've ever seen him NOT wearing a fly suit!

Rest in peace Allen Toussaint.
Amen. Amen so hard.
What a lovely man.
Thanks for posting this -- an essential piece of musical history. Plus, Allen Toussaint was epic.
Allen Toussaint is my cousin.....New Orleans has always been the staple city to music
He's my cousin also? Do you know Joyce? Ethlyn? ...
A true gentleman. The first time I heard of him was from a cover by Iron Butterfly "Get Out of My Life, Woman"
Wow the hall got it right for once.
This man is so underrated.
DEP Allen Toussaint🕊️
Sin duda bien merecido uno de los más grandes de la historia 👏
If Allen was still around, I'd say, please be president. Because he would show us all, What a good American is and how to be a good American.
WOW!
❤
Yeah James Brown, Funk came from somewhere down in New Orleans, his name is Ernie K'Doe! Here come the girls.
I’ll check him out
People are gonna miss the Boomers when they are gone.
What about Ted Nugent, Boston, Joe Cocker, Carol King real rock legends
they are all in the rock n roll hall of fsme
how cocker I love but name 3 songs that he didn't cover
Lol and a good read of bio is Carol king
@Chairman Meow Nugent would have to be 10 times better in order to be good enough to suck.
Did Toussaint write songs for them?
What about Dr.John, Leon Russel, Chubby Checker, Blue Oyster Cult, Carol King
Wow I can't believe how lame this place has gotten
Dr John and Leon where both inducted in 2011.Very informed comment.
