  • The Kenai Fjords is a must-see if you’re visiting Alaska! Kenai Fjords National Park is home to the Harding Icefield covering more than 700 square miles of the Kenai Mountains with endless glaciers. The Kenai Fjords covers approximately 669,984 acres and receives over 350,000 visitors a year. The scenery is absolutely breathtaking, and one you don't want to miss. On this Alaskan boat tour, it is common to see sea otters, whale (we saw a humpback whale!), seals, sea lions, puffins, and more!
    You can easily make this a day trip by driving 2.5 hours from Anchorage to Seward, Alaska where the boat tour begins. In this video, we take you aboard a 6-hour boat tour along the majestic coastline of the kenai fjords. We booked our tour through Pursuit's Kenai Fjords Tour.

    Some incredible footage! You weren't kidding about the blue glaciers. So interesting to see!
    It is great that you were able to make a recreation of the whale breaching. Hopefully it was just fun and majestic to see real life.
    Looking forward to the next video!

      Thanks, mark! One of our favorite videos so far. So hard to not include everything we have captured. Glad you enjoyed it as much as we did.
      It’s like we sneezed and missed capturing the whale breaching. Next time! Haha the whale breaching footage is as good as we can do for you all 😆 Cheers!

    Another great video!! I loved that you saw all the wildlife, especially the puffins. Are the glaciers really that blue? They look really neat. Watching whales breach is tremendous. I went to San Ignacio Bay in Baja California when I was in college and we saw Gray Whales breach. It was so cool. Looks like a great trip even with the hassles you had. Can't wait to see your next adventure!!

      Thank you! We were so shocked how much wildlife there were. Thee glaciers are that blue depending on lighting. Apparently clouds, sun, and blue skys and change the colors to make them more blue.
      So cool you had great whale watching experiences. We hope to catch something like that in oregon. Watching them in Baja must have been amazing! Yes, despite the hassle, we had a good time ☺️ managing stress on trips seems less daunting when back home for some reason

      So awesome to hear that! You’re going to have a blast. It was one of our highlights. It was around 50 to 60 when we were there but on the boat it is a bit chillier with the wind especially if you’re outside. Feels like high 40s to low 50s. Glad you enjoyed the video! Have a blast and let us know if you have any other questions

      @HelenandTimTravel  Год назад

      It was in the areas with more open water. One of our parents took Dramamine before getting on because she was afraid of getting sea sick. Also, sitting outside helps too plus you can see the beautiful scenery easier. Sitting inside seemed way more rocky.

    Thanks for the video - very helpful! When we were planning our AK vacation your video popped up for us on RUclips - the infamous YT algorithm is working for you! I also checked out your website, the “Our Story” page filled in the background gaps for me. Please consider doing a more personal/detailed video about your background to attract more subscribers and current fans would ❤ it. Everyone loves a good story 😊 With Love, Rikki

      We did the 11:30 am cruise since we knew we needed to make the 2.5-hour drive from Anchorage. We left around 7:30 am to account for the rain and traffic. We wanted to get on the boat early and they recommend arriving an hour early so we could snag a seat too@@parissar3905

    Your airbnb got broken into???? Wow so sorry that happened to you. Would you say it's a dangerous area? I wonder if that happens often or they target tourists? Maybe they targeted you because of your out of state plate? Sorry to ask so many questions, it' just I am planning on visiting

    • @HelenandTimTravel
      @HelenandTimTravel  5 месяцев назад

      Yeah, it was an unfortunate event. think Overall impression at least near downtown where we stayed it wasn’t a dangerous area, but we have heard there are some sketchier parts like most major cities. We felt like it was a newer Airbnb listing and they had waited until the owners upstairs (this was a downstairs street level apartment) part of a house. They waited until they were gone one weekend. We rented a car locally so we had Alaska plates. Definitely rent or stay in a place with external security cameras. We never stay anywhere street level any longer unless there is a secure external gate. Definitely hide or take your valuables with you when you leave.

  • @Seattle_Wayne
    @Seattle_Wayne Год назад +1

    I've never stayed at an AirBnB and I'm not sure how much you and Tim do, either, but I've heard rumor that they are more susceptible to break-ins because your information is there and they may have an idea of who you are. Lots of RUclipsrs get targeted because we haul around a lot of equipment. Sorry this happened but glad it did to ruin your trip!

    • @HelenandTimTravel
      @HelenandTimTravel  Год назад

      We mix up our stay often with Airbnb, bed and breakfast, and hotels. But we are in tents often haha 😆 We are pretty certain the person who stole targeted us because they knew it was an Airbnb and likely have been tracking this place for awhile. It was the first break in for the owners who live on site and they happen to be out of town the same weekend the person broke in. We will be sharing more on our next video. Our laptop pinged to a residential area about 20 mins away in a sketchy neighborhood. But we never recovered our stuff when the police attempted to try and get in. It didn’t ruin our trip, but still a big bummer!
      Thanks for watching ☺️
