      Well chuck disbanded death after symbolic to start control denied, record label asked him for one more album and use his control denied lineup and the songs they wrote for Sound of Perseverance. Im sure if chuck didnt decide to disband in 96’ then Bobby would have still been around

      @@Boogaloogian Shannon Hamm, Scott Clendenin and Richard Christy were Control Denied members before they made TSOP. Many songs from that record were originally made for Control Denied, such as Spirit Crusher, Story to Tell and A Moment Of Clarity. Chuck denied these rumors at the time, probably because the label was putting pressure on him to promote the album. But there are demos of them songs where Chuck sings them in a clean vocal style, which was his original plan.

I taught myself all of Leprosy, Spiritual Healing and most of Human. Wish I would have gotten to see you guys here in Vancouver. I went to a fundraiser years ago that Gene held to raise money for Chucks cancer. My band was suppost to play that but we weren't ready to play the show so we passed it up. But we were still there to support Chuck.

  • @danielblake1537

    That's actually really interesting that Chuck was more of just go off of feel type of player self taught compare to someone who may know all the names of each chord progression (Which I'm more like Chuck) in that I've only played and learned guitar by ear with a right handed guitar turned upside down for a lefty to play it like myself and I can play songs from what I've either learned by ear or by guitar lessons videos like this which teach me.....and I'm 31yrs old now I've been playing since I was 7yrs old and I STILL can't even tell you hardly all the guitar strings letter when their open strings lmao but I can play practically any Metallica song and about everything off Death's first 3 albums that I recently just learned these past few months (But not solos) because of me having a strat body type right handed guitar the lower horn is on the opposite side of where I need it to make it easier for me to get higher up on the frets to play solos....so unfortunately I haven't gotten Alot of practice on soloing or even doing covers of my favorite bands solos for some reason it's just hard for me to memorize all the notes and to play them in such fast secession that it sounds seamless when playing along to a solo I like, and also my string retainer is shit....so I can't hardly even bend my higher strings because they literally feel like they're just going to snap which sucks!! But anyways I'm curious how did Chuck learn to solo like he does.....and after listening to Alot of his solos throughout the years on the different albums and I notice there's this certain kind of solo Chuck loved to use like this certain box of frets and he would do that rapid speed picking I dunno it's hard to explain it but if your a big fan like I am and play guitar you know exactly what I'm talking about Chuck especially used that go to solo in parts of his solo all throughout like Scream Bloody Gore and Leprosy but he even would play little similar figures on later albums too like off the top of my head like the song "Pull The Plug" you can definitely hear what I'm talking about on Chuck's solo on that track I wish I could atleast learn that technique he seemed to like to use often in parts of his solos

      Yeah man, same i play for 8 years and know basically no theory. Jam in the same scale all the time probably but it sounds good and rest doesn't matter. Chuck definitely liked a pattern in his solos, the fast part, i can recognize it in every album

    I wish I knew exactly the correct terms for everything I can play lol it's weird I know how to play songs I cover either by ear or guitar lesson videos but I'm totally oblivious to the actual scales names notes or chords pretty much I can't read sheet music at all music comes naturally to me but I feel like learning all the technical stuff seems too difficult for me I just play what I like but I would love to know what type of scale does Chuck usually use when playing his solos especially on his earlier albums?

    • @danielblake1537
      @danielblake1537 4 года назад

      And I find it hard to believe Chuck could come up with all the stuff he played with riffs and solos yet he doesn't know any of the technical stuff either.....I've been playing since I was 7yrs old ever since Christmas of 1997' and I'm now 31yrs old but I STILL can't even come close to coming up even some of the cool riffs he came up with let alone his badass solos that's just crazy to me
