- The jets dubbed Porphyrion stretch for 23 million light years, equal to 140 Milky Ways lined up side by side. They erupted from a black hole that existed when the universe was half its current age. Full Story: www.space.com/...

We can have faith in humanity whilst there are still researchers capable of such amazing thing. Not everything is TikTok or 'influencers' - thank goodness for that.
And He’s young. This isn’t going to be the first amazing thing that he observes. He’s just barely getting started.
I was just thinking the same thing! How the HELL does someone amass that much knowledge in just a couple of decades?
What's up with these comments? Just discovery is just insane. At first I thought it was 23 light years across and I was like woah that's freaking huge, then I saw the word million and simply didn't know what to say
I think the word gobsmacking is appropriate.
The structures at the ends of the jets in what appear to be voids is quite intriguing.
There’s no way, there’s just… no way.
How…. How does that much energy even get produced in the first place?! How does it sustain itself for so long? The sheer distance!!
Right there with you. This is beyond staggering. The scale of the cosmic web blows my mind. But from our perspective, you can think of it as a static, unmoving structure.
This is something different. This is something actively moving through that monstrously massive structure.
It makes my brain hurt, but it also fills me with wonder.
The big bang
It's totally not the point of the video I know, but that shirt is epic
Aren’t these known as Quasars?
Imagine living ( or have been) in a galaxy having that bow shock heading to you.
Stunning!
They are quite big
Yeah
Is that Goku and Vegeta back-to-back?
we humans are incapable of understanding how large that is
imagine the power needed to force a jet like that ....ufff
Very interesting rapport. Thanks and best regards from Sweden
Astronomy - half science fiction.
I mean that's the bigger cosmic fart ever
I paused at the picture at first thinking 😮is that the cosmic web?!
After he explains the juicy science i said "that is proper Cool "
Are we not also told that nothing, escapes from a black hole?
Why can’t we ever see the real picture not just illustrations. How do we even know everything they say is true js
Anyone know the song in the background? I know it's Paul Saunderson but I can't find this song anywhere
black hole jet? isn't it called a quasar?
Humans tell each other scary stories
Omg hes gorgeous.
Unbelievable ♥️♥️
Amazing!
That's where my tax has been going! I see...
That is soooo cool
23 MILLION LY GEYSER 🙄🙄🙄
Burkeland currents
Are white holes the output of black holes?
No white holes would be like a big bang. The black holes are to big and heavy and can't keep the amount of matter they are pulling in inside so them so they spit it back out as those giant beams of plasma
@@lancesims8627Actually the jets are from the accretion disk around the black hole.
The magnetic field of the spinning black hole catches most of the plasma as it falls towards the black hole and shoots it out forming the huge jets.
It is the part that never actually falls in.
Hmmmmm, I'm never convinced with these videos because without actually visiting it. We will never actually know for sure.
What lol
The odds of one hitting us is almost 0!
Terrible odds but I'm hopeful.
is it possible that, it was used as super highway to who ever lived there?
Thats some Epic 1-Way Highway heh
Radiation levels beyond imagination. SMH.
Uwaoow (#3)
I believe those filaments /vorticies of galaxing squeezing together and unforming extends to infinity, no big bang, no beginning, no end, no god " creation. "Always has been in existance, and will be forever. You are welcome ! 😊
Impossible. No young stars can exist after a very long time. Darkness cannot exist in infinitely old infinite universe that did have any stars.
