I've been saying that for a while. Don't get me wrong, I really like the 570S and I think putting that side by side with a 911 Turbo S for example is a no brainer in my eyes. But the 650S is so much car for the money, so usable every day yet insanely quick and a proper super car when you want it to be. It really properly takes your breath away. I'd personally have it over a 488 GTB easily. I'd even go as far as to say a 12C is still insanely good value. The 650S is an evolution of that car so only incrementally faster (albeit more updated of course).
I want your hair. On a different note: You got the relaxedness that shmee is missing and the professionalism that seb is missing. Keep up that amazing work!
I love the sound of a naturally aspirated engine more than anything else. BUT, the anger that spits from this V8 when floored, like at 5:40 is just out of this world.
Everyone complains about how McLarens depreciate but actually that makes a nearly-new, low mileage, well-conditioned 650S one of the best bang-for-the-buck car on the market.

Why have mclaren all of a sudden made loads of cars? Not that its a bad thing, they had a period between the F1 and the 12C where they made nothing and those cars are a decade apart. (yes i know the SLR)

It's really good to watch a video that is not slagging off the noise from the 650S. I personally would go for the 650S within a heartbeat over the 570S. Not only do I see it as the 'flagship' car, but the model that looks the best for me. I really hope you get one. It's funny that Shmee has had lots of McLaren's and everybody is now slowly understanding why he opts for McLaren rather than Lambo. Funny really.

Cool James! Still hard to make up which car I like the best. I am in a lot of trouble would I ever be fortunate enough to buy one. 570GT, 650S or the one I like the looks of the most, the 12C. I sort of want the P11 platform because of the suspension. So.....yeah. Keep it up man! You are awesome.

Given the "magic suspension" in the 12C/650S I don't think I could buy the 570S unless I already had a McLaren with the hydraulic suspension. Once I owned one of those I could totally see having a 570S/GT as the "every day" car. Then the other would be reserved for weekend rides and track day fun. I'd just feel like I were missing out on the McLaren experience without that trick suspension. Either is obviously a great choice though!

One thing I'd like to ask, how does the 650S compare to your GT3 in terms of dynamics and every day usability? I would imagine the torque of the 650 will be higher given that it's a Biturbo, but what else would you say separated the two cars? Actually while I'm on the subject, how does the 650S compare to your beloved F12 too? - So not much to think about there bud!!!😳😳😂😂
Please tell me you put it in track mode and tried it?! I was lucky enough to drive one last year, holy shit- track mode turns everything up to 11! Such a great car, in my opinion there's not much that touches a 650s at that price range

Great explanation of the range. It gets a bit confusing when the new car is a 570 but the older 650 is better. Don't think I'd want a LT when that 650s does the job so well. Mind made up that's the one I'd have.

If i was in the market for a 650s I'd wait for the new P14 which could possibly be a hybrid - instant torque like the p1 potentially.. also if comparing a used 650s against a new highly specced 570s you also need to consider how much warranty the 650s has left :)
Love the colour on the 650S, it fits so well in the environment ! Do you think the turbo engine sound is a loss compared to N/A experience especially with Spider models like the 650S ? Awesome video as always :)
1080p 60FPS is quite enjoyable to watch. I've only recently been able to view videos at that size (I also used to have to watch at 360p in order to remove constant buffering), but it sure is enjoyable. Just because you are unable to use it doesn't mean you should hate it. You might as well be saying that supercars are a waste of money and effort. Both are luxuries. v-v

Seeing as the 12C came out in 2011 and then the 650S came out in 2014 surely it might be worth waiting for McLaren to realise their new 'super series' car? and can you talk about the depreciation/appreciation for Mclarens in the UK market bit depthy but it is interesting!

The suspension in the 650S is best in class. Worth it for that alone.
