Can we give a shout out to Demarre Carroll, I believe millsap was the best player of that Hawks squad but Carroll was the piece that kept it all together, sorta like the glue guy.
He is a good dude. I knew he was gunna defend his teammates
Kyle Korver deserved that all star game. He had 21 in it too, knocking down everything. He was so dangerous for that Hawks team and he was the one you were scared of. If you shut him down you knew you could beat them, if he went off just say goodnight and try again next game. The greatest shooter coming off a screen I've ever seen, the way he would float through the air whilst shooting those running 3s off a pin down was so elegant. Fantastic player
Those Hawks teams with the Millsap and Horford core could beat any other team except a LeBron led team imo. They were an underrated duo who were very versatile.
They was really good just no answer for Bron. Just like Toronto. People give Kawai the credit but if they kept derozen and bron still went west I think they still would have been in the finals

@@bdukes8075 lol that ATL team was good when GSW was just getting started. But in the east, the Pacers, Cavs, Celtics, Wizards, Raptors, Hawks were all top teams. In the west it was GSW, Spurs, Clippers, Blazers, Thunder, Rockets.

They were an amazing Regular Season team. But, lacked any singular talents who could take over when their sets were well scouted and prepared for defensively in the playoffs.

The Hawks had 4 guys who made it that one year but none of them were perennial all stars. Each of them made no more than 2-3 all star teams over their entire careers.
Cleveland had 3 perennial all stars at that point with Bron, Kyrie and K Love. Saying 'ohhh they had 4 All Stars' as if their 4 all stars are anywhere near as good as Cleveland's 3 is just Bronsexual glazing to try make it look like he beat stacked teams. He always had the talent advantage in the East from 2010 - 2017

Of all the supposed contenders that I've ever seen -- I can't think of one I took less seriously than that Hawks team. I never for a second thought they had what it took to win a title. I also didn't think of them as having legit all-stars outside of maybe Hortoad .. on the flip side I'll praise them as probably the most overachieving team I've probably ever seen

*Loses to LeBron, Kyrie and K Love. All 3 were all stars in that season too and not just ones who made it a couple times like the Hawks guys. The Cavs guys were perennial All Stars and HOFers. Those Hawks teams were never going to be anything more than a very good regular season team
