I'm glad to see folks still playing this game and creating tutorials. I just picked it up since it was on sale and have been enjoying it immensely. Why, though, are you charging low wealth people higher taxes than high wealth people? I tend to go the opposite way and have been charging (from low wealth to high), something like 9%, 10%, and 11%. Even then they will complain periodically about the high taxes. 😅
Glad you are enjoying the game. I have the taxes set at a rate that the simulation regards as neither too high or too low. Both will cause residents to complain or even move out. 10% high wealth, 11% medium and 12% low causes neutral reactions while generating the highest tax income. I have a tutorial on taxes.

Hey Leonard! I've been watching a lot of your videos recently but decided to come right back to the first season today. One question that I had was how are you able to zoom out so much to see almost all of your plot in city mode? Would it be possible to share the best graphic settings etc..? I'm playing on an Apple iMac "Core i5" 1.6 21.5" (Late 2015) model. How do I set things like scale and stuff like that? Would you also recommend all graphic settings are on high too? I have no problem with loading graphics and animation etc but my screen seems smaller than yours in game play. Anyway, I am so so grateful for these videos. When it first came out I couldn't afford it and I had a crappy PC but now as a 40 year old man I'm loving playing this, it's awesome! I played the original when everyone was playing Sim City 4, then when everyone was playing Sim City I was struggling to play SC4. Like you, I find it so relaxing. Thanks again!
