So funny enough, i do coach 1 and 2 step drills for my students. Plenty of them just wanted to use their upper body and this taught them that they needed to have better timing and more leg focus.

This is so great - I'm still getting use to launching the ball at and angle compaired to how I use to launch my ball straight down from the targeting dots up to the far right arrow (My old 15 year old ball couldn't hook to save it's life).
The DV8 Collision is game changing for me and I've managed to bowl a few mid 200 games - Because the ball has such great grip and is my 1st reactive asym - I've had to get use to providing more room for the ball to work.

It’s funny you mention blindfolding yourself . In Archery we have what we call blank bailing. We basically close our eyes and just work on the release. You’re not aiming you’re not doing anything but working on your shot execution with your release aid only about 3/4 feet from the bale …

I have been Bowling a year now i started with 3 other friends I watch your videos and guides they don't I have the most improved average in league going from barely breaking 100 to having a handicapp of 0 over a year and I attribute it all to 3 days a week and your videos my high is 244 with an average @214 I'm pretty consistent i bowl with one ball and I started watching you always trying to win the balls you guys have all the time never won but still satisfied with the massive improvements also my friends started same as me and they aren't even close to me because of your help there stubborn and won't change there game cause it's uncomfortable learning to spin the ball practicing walk ups and releases keeping your hand under the ball paying attention to where you release and where you hit the dry biggest change for me was learning how to bowl on different lane conditions instinct told me to throw closer to the gutter when I'm cutting to hard but you taught me to bowl in so i stay in oil longer or to love a bit further so I cut further down lane much love and appreciation guys massive help thank you

Great video and drill guys! Just a quick question, but when I was learning to bowl and later when I taught youth, I used a tarp on a home built pvc frame that set in the adjacent lane gutters and across my lane at the dots or arrows to block the view of the pins and wonder if you ever do the same? I still regularly use it for target training and I can also identify when I feel my brain pulling my eyes from where they should be. Cheers and thanks for your content!!

Getting to know your arsenal and having a well rounded bag is paramount to optimal bowling. I also suggest using a dedicated spare ball, throwing straight at all your spares to increase that spare percentage.

I think the biggest thing that gets overlooked outside of bowling, and is extremely easy, is getting a $20 smartphone tripod, and video taping yourself over the throwing shoulder, and at the foul line three gutter caps over. There is a lot of information on your good and bad shots to study what went wrong, so you can present it to your coach. When you're done practicing, maybe you can even figure it out for yourself by studying your favorite pro players frame-by-frame to see what fundamentals might be missing.

Your arms aren't perpetual motion machines. Every single bowler who continues to swing their arm after releasing a ball is using muscle to do that. They might think they're not and swear on their life that they're not, but they actually are. If your arm was actually fully relaxed at release, it would fall and dangle like a limp noodle after the follow through. I get guys like Patrick Allen looked super cool flapping their arm like a bird, but it's the most meaningless thing ever. "Look at how loose and relaxed my arm swing is" says the wacky-waving-arm-flailing-inflatable-tubeman.

One step drills at the foul line absolutely do not work. As soon as you use your full approach, that one step drill is out the door. They are a waste of time. If you’re a pro, you make it look good because you already know what you are doing.
