This is the most complete, accurate and peer-reviewed and easy to understand explanation of the newborn with respiratory distress that i have found. Thank you OPENPediatrics
Great video! You explained it very clearly! I just started my own medical youtube channel, and I also made a video on respiratory distress. However I still find it hard to find the balance between informational content and a fun way to explain it. You do this in a very natural way, which inspired me to make my videos more visual. Thanks for all the knowledge and keep it up!
Sir, my baby was born on 17.08.2023. He has problem for breathing. Till now he is in support of NIV. All tests are conducted including genetic analysis but could not diagnose till.
1:41 The increase in blood flow to the lungs, is caused by a decrease in the lung tissue's resistance to blood flow. I speculate, whether or not, this triggers the closing of the foramen ovale, like a checkvalve slamming closed under reversed pressure. (for example, a sewage backflow preventor valve, closing as water attempts to flow backwards against the weir)
My son is in the NICU for low oxygen levels? Is that respiratory distress? Somebody please help me I’m overwhelmed the hospital where my son is at , doesn’t give me answers at all.
Hello! I am a mother of 4 days old infant. My baby is a boy and he was born premature. I was at my full term 38+ weeks and his growth was slow for almost 2 weeks at the time of his birth he was 35+ weeks old with birth weight of 2.3 kg. I had gestational diabetes and my doctor advised me to infuse 4 dose of dexa two days before my emergency c section. The doctor advised me for emergency c section because of abnormal CTG of my baby. After birth my baby also inhaled his meconium. Now he is in nursery for 4 days and he is suffering from pneumonia, fever and abnormal heart rate. Please guide me what case does he falls in and what should be the most appropriate treatment.
My son just born and he is in incubator with tube in his lungs to support the breathing bc he has RDS after c-section,he born at 37weeks but a bit less wheight,2.8kg.I hve got the injection to mature the lungs, but durin ,c -section he was breathing in fluid and he couldnt improve in 4 hrs by himself. In your case should be the ssme treatment.but the doctors know their best. God bless
