You didn't even show how it folds up damn it.
ザカリー・バトラー since it's a prototype I'm not sure it actually can...
It can.
It doesn't fold if u look closely they slide in and out over the main screen
Check out Razer on FB, they show the fold out video.
i checked out the cnet review of this and i guess the sliding mechanism doesnt quite work yet
Linus you stole it, didn't you?
judging by how many times he encourages viewers to voice their potential interest in the product, this is obviously a part of razer's marketing survey
OhManTFE here in my office with this new Razor Notebook. I don't call it stealing anymore I call it free advertisement. 😂
And today some people is selling it at a price of 20k on a second hand website
which one
OhManTFE it was totally linus.....
Apple: We've added a touchbar to the new Mac
Razer: That's so cute
Lmao, that's good, just like COD games vs. Battlefield games.
the new macbook has a UHD screen with another smaller screen with 4k by 100 something.
Razer: Well, CHILD, lets see how ur low res screen puts up against our fucking tv
lol
I would like this comment but it has 420 likes XD
Dude, macs are not meant to game on theyre meant to Edit and stuff, thts Why i got imac and a gaming pc
You can tell it's from Razer because the thing is made from 95% LEDs.
LuxUmbra37 RGB*
sorry to ruin the 69 likes
every led is +10% value.

I bring my notebook to school for computer science and in the lunch break, I'm playing some split-screen games in the cantina. I think this would really boost up my "one of the nerdiest nerds in school" image.
i think having this would make even a jock look like the nerdiest nerd
[Sable] Even bigger nerd...
I just use a Windows tablet and a android tablet with Spashtop WiredXDisplay. It does exactly as described
the envy of the school more like it hehe
I don't think this will last for 20 minutes considering the huge power consumption it will take without being plugged in , and aside from that will the battery handle the three monitors running together even while being plugged in electricity ? And for how long ? Besides, playing on three split monitors like this I think is kind of confusing ( at least for me) I still prefer one big monitor or a t.v.
Though ' it is a really great idea to have on the go, if there is no battery issues and if the screens do not appear separated ...
Of course they put an RGB lightning on their concept product.
AlphaCore if they didn't, is it even Razer?
They put lightning in their product? Wow!
yeaah, "lightning"
***** Thats not very nice
Welcome to Razer
We have rtx 3080 in our laptops now I think this concept should be possible?
Sortoff, but mobile 3080's are not as powerfull as their desktop counterparts, I think they don't even share a gpu. They talked about them on the WAN show form two weeks ago I think, not sure. Also, with the current shortages it might still be viable, that way you can share a gpu with three people each having their own screen ;)
3060*
Yuppp
A Laptop 3080 at 100W, is about equivalent to a desktop 3060 in gaming performance. Not sure about RT and Neural cores though, those might be better than that - no clue.
Speaking of that though you could probably run DLSS on all 3 screens and it should work fine-ish.
I've run Cyberpunk 4k Raytracing Ultra on a TV with my Razer Blade 14 and it worked and looked more than fine.
To be honest though 3x4k is just completely unnecessary, maybe 3x 1440p would be more realistic.
The only thing I could see this be brought into production would be only 2 screens, where you can slide one to the left side, to have the right side open for your mouse, for more efficient office and creative type work in hotels, not gaming.
This is exactly what I need for app development / 3D animation / software development / web development / game development. For me, this laptop is a must-have, and I would very happily drop $10K on this. No ones wants to carry two extra monitors in their briefcase, or bother with the hassle of plugging them in, and stabilizing them on tiny coffeeshop tables. I work out of cafes. This is so perfect. I am incredibly upset this isn't real.
I second that. Video editing, gaming, and basically any other situation as I prefer having multiple displays. No one wants to deal with carrying around or hooking up extra monitors. I'd drop $5-8k on it.
Agreed
Did you know about the Slide n' Joy accessory ?
Just imagine if you can adjust the side screens to be horizontal. That would be overkill for development.
Exactly, fellow software engineer at day time and game developer at night time, one machine for all my needs would be perfect, would gladly drop 5k on it, not more.
1 Monitor- current work.
2 Monitor- toolbars or browser for searching info.
3 Monitor (optional)- YT or TV shows.
Tomasz Kwasimorda exactly
Toolbars? wat
thats... basically.. your.. like.. toolbar?? U know whare the "windows" button is??
You're talking about the taskbar. What the original comment meant was some programs toolbars or plugin windows and stuff. Like in Photoshop or Sony Vegas and others
Toolbars?
Holy shit lol.
all of that for only 4000$
Current Razer Blade Pro is like 4000 dollars
TheFamousDigital 10000$ then xD
hell top of the line from them all ready is 4k...so maybe 6k
and it all made of plastic
it would be even more... thats 3 4k displays
If you put it on your back an jump of a building. Will you glide?
You sure will glide,. like a brick
lol
yes
You will be the next F***ing Concorde with the fans needed to keep the thermals decent
Probably you will fall obviously
Idk about jumping of a building, but if u jump off a building im pretty sure you'll fly.
Will this ever be mass produced? It's been over two years.
We continue to pray, drop tomorrow you say? My blades going in the bin, this bad boy is my new unlapable laptop
3 years now. Still waiting
Well I mean who has the desk space, cash and the ability to use the 3 screens in a good way and not playing as the entire squad in cs:go
lol
I doubt anyone would even buy it cuz it's probs gonna cost over 5k
Yes they are on the right track. Writing a paper at the university becomes a lot easier when you can have your webbrowser, word and another program open at the same time. If something like this can be combined with good battery life, I'd love it.
Me too. But 1080p Screens or even 720p will be very much sufficient for writing/ browsing :D
It's just a concept like those Acer 21 inch laptop or msi gt80
but some people really use it because its really good and efficent
You realize if you bought this laptop you would be paying an extra like 1/4-1/2 year of college just for a laptop, yay for student loans! lmao
Fernando N So you're saying that writing is less important or "real" than photo and video editing? Nice one dude
yeah i would like to see a lower end laptop achieve this for productivity. maybe even just 2 screens lol
I JUST WANT TO SEE THE EXTRA SCREENS RETRACT
I assume they don't, as this is just a custom build for CES: For that, it's looking quite polished though.
Autobots ROLL OUT !!
They do. If you look behind the middle screen, you can see how thick the plastic is. its like 2 inches deep, clearly they are meant to fold in and then fold the entire 3 of them closed.
Haha xD I got this :P
There's a harness that holds the two extra monitors. You pull the monitors off the back, fold them in on each other then fold the laptop like normal. Not nearly as exciting as it could be sadly.
Looking at this from 6 years in the future, I think the best approach is pairing a laptop with a tablet, such as with Apple Sidecar or Duet Display. That way you get a second display that can be left behind when you want, but also you have a tablet that’s useful separately.
So in the video, Linus asked us to say who would want one of these and why... Who are we and what do we need it for...
ok, here we go.
I need one because I am a maker, simulator enthusiast, and a frequent remote worker. With three screens neatly contained inside the laptop, I could travel and work effectively without the trouble of all the extra gear. blah, blah blah about thunderbolt displays and clip on screens... I really need it in a single piece of gear! This thing is exactly what I need! No, I don't use my laptop in any kind of coffee/donut shop. additionally, on my down time, I prefer to engage in simulations or CAD design. It should go without saying that flight sims are 300% better with three screens!
~~(voice of someone who doesn't think before posting) But then, aren't you carrying a bunch of controllers and flight sticks, rudder pedals and stuff with you?! Isn't that extra gear?~~
No, I wouldn't take that stuff on a deployment with me. However, I also don't want a second computer at home where I really relax.
I just want one sweet computer that I can take anywhere with me. That way I don't need a second one at home, thus doubling the expenditure on computers, to get a better experience.
I hope I convinced at least one reader that this type of thing is a good idea. If not I still hope RAZER makes this system. I like the company, I like their values, and I like their design aesthetic.
Maybe, Linus could send me the one he got so I won't have to wait for an upgraded version.
Kenneth Trawick l
Kenneth Trawick get za other one he reviewed boiii
I need one so i can play on 3 screens
I was waiting throughout the entire video for you to show us how it opens/closes/transforms.
mkygod it's more than meets the eye
mkygod he didn't show it because it probably doesn't work yet or is totally wonky
plot twist: it doesnt close, it stays that way forever
mkygod I don't think it does lmao
mkygod yeah..if it can transform into like a laptop model that would be nice right? but it nice but I think a lot of work needed to succesfully made this razer project and that will super expensive
It's so top secret that Linus posted a video on RUclips for millions of people to watch
ye
No its the reason why its even made that is a secret
**Was top secret until they showed EVERYONE at CES you mean ? it's called Marketing !!
Linus? Towing the marketing department line? Shocked and appalled.
Squilliam_Fancyson _ I would rather not even see this since I can't buy it
I am a mechanical engineering student and I think this could be very useful for design. This is because you could use one screen as a modeling program, another could be used for a program that has material or structure manuals and lastly the third screen could be used for documentation with all of the requirements. This would be wonderful for people trying to go to meetings and get work done.
Might as well call it the Razer Wing, Could even FLY with it
Chyeqarl Alhasni Razer Ophis
Razor Edge? ...like a knife edge? Idk...
Did you "forget" to give this back? :D
2 prototypes stolen at CES.
Someone definitely liked it.
How does this even happen
Lol... LINUS PLZ NO
Very bad security, and not explaining to the employee that they need to WATCH the product, and not locking down the product, and CES is a bees nest of devious bored people.
hahaha man u got fooled by bad photoshop skills
NOW WITH FIVE SCREENS FOR AN EVEN CLOSER SHAVE!!!
Well it is a razer.
Oh the irony
IamNemoN01 when you have to explain your own joke.
myusernameisthisduh
There are a lot of dim-wits out there.
@Matt0401 hahaha I did the same thing.
It isn't irony if it's something you'd expect. That's just humor.
While they were filming, Linus was secretly planning on how to sneak it out of the back door. Just like a Mission:Impossible film.
I think if they make the screens fold in on each other it would be easier to carry around so your at the place you wanted to go all you would have to do is open the laptop up fold the screens out then turn it on. If you only want the laptop part then you should be able to clip the adapters off of we're it folds in.
For the price I paid, this is a steal!
I see what you did there
Ikmel A.A.A. Ehm
Nailed it!
... YOU BROUGHT A STOLEN ONE FROM EBAY DIDN'T YOU
James Taylor XD do you get it? He stole it XD
Battery life: 3 minutes
It would at least have 2 hours. Even the best gaming laptops keep up a consistent minimum of 2 hour battery life
haha lol thats not true at all if I dont put mine in battery saver and run games at max fps i get 15 min of battery life if im lucky
Titouan Magret haha you have a prety bad eye for choosing gaming laptops. Though that is surpising. Have you thought of buying a new battery? Some say they degrade over time
Dodeca I have origin laptop what do you mean bad eye? lmao and I've had it for a year. and you see running a i7 and 970 on a laptop battery while trying to run games like Witcher is pretty demanding but you must be right ur clearly a expert
fucking roasted.
This looks like what I need. I am a website developer and I travel a lot. I use 3 monitors at my office which makes me very efficient when I am at work. But when I am on the road and need to work, it takes me about 4 times longer to do the same things with only one monitor on my laptop vs the 3 at my office. I have thought about getting a setup with multiple monitors, but that makes traveling a little more difficult.
As a digital artists I would benefit from extra screens, because I do draw on laptop sometimes when I am not near home. But artists are poor.
Just make an ultra-wide laptop.
It will if the base of the laptop is also wide. You probably meant curve
big gaming laptops are already a pain in the butt to carry. Make it 21:9 with the width of a proper desktop keyboard and build a backpack to go with it and maybe.
Acer already did...
Acer did one like that, and it was curved.
What they need to do is keep their design but use that fold able glass stuff that is being developed so instead of three screens you have one big fold able screen. They also need to be able to fold the side screens behind the main panel so that you can use the laptop with the two side panels out of the way for situations that call for it. Then I would see this as practical.
I'm not a fan of Razer. But damn, I'd welcome anything new and innovative.
But it'll probably cost me an arm and a leg.
Ikan arts and a kidney or two!
The RGBs under the monitor probably add an extra $300 to the standard price with Razers pricing logic.
Saw the exact thing as a crow-funding few years ago, so new... not that much
This existed almost 10 years ago, though. Google ThinkPad W700ds.
I'm a professional trader and I need this in my life.
Ben second that.
third that
Being an Aerospace Engineer something like this would be great for CAD and games. But something like you mentioned of clipping it on would be better. They had a great idea with the Core, and something like that with a screen would be killer
I edit video and do 3D modeling. I would buy the SHIT out of this.
Gauge Wiley so stop waiting around and buy the "shit" out of it
Well it's not available yet you "shit" head.
aren't desktops better tho for that?
Yes but I do most of my work away from home and on the go,
+csjdruid A lot of people forget about the portability factor. Heck, this makes no sense for gamers since their ideal gaming environment will always be their desktop rig. I think Razer needs to consider marketing this for professionals instead, who will actually NEED to take work with them.
Razer laptop every year "The new razer blade"
TheEagleDynamite
I mean, they're *not wrong* 😐
That's Edgy.
I would definitely get that, for video editing, audio recording and general multimedia management. Those extra screens would so come in handy for tools and preview screens.
Yes, I would use this for work. I use 4 1080p screens to work on now. This would be incredible!
This is the saddest day of my life. I had this idea for so many years.
i mean seriously I had an idea for reaction-type videos back in the early days of youtube, before it was a thing
+Lagging Yeti But your idea was not that uncommon.
Someone tried to pitch this sort of idea to Dell once, and I saw a TigerDirect April 1st joke ad for something similar as well. It's just no-one has either gotten the R&D money to actually try it or not made it, you know, actually work, until Razer.
A laptop with multiple screens is not a new idea at all and has been done multiple times before, this is just a new, larger form factor of that idea. 3 might be new but there have been ones with 2 since a long time ago.
Eddie Spaghetti I never said that I was the only one with the idea, and as you said, this particular "new" from factor is what I've been specifically thinking time ago. Laptops with 2 screens is another story. What I'm talking here is about in-laptop multi-screen gaming.
It would be neat if the screens folded to a triangle. Then you could give presentations and people wouldn't be huddled around a single screen.
Even neater if all three were touch screen because then you could bring it into classrooms as a group learning tool.
that's actually a quite good idea tbh
spyder000069 there's a product called slidenjoy that does just that. it right still be prototype tho...
And then the logo will turn into an eyeball
The Illuminati already invented it but it's so secret, only they have them.
I would definitely buy one of these if they become available. i do agree that having the two extra screens as a seperate module that plugs in would be a more flexible solution.
I think the project is amazing - it instantly made me think of 2 consumer segments:
1. Gamer's perspective: From my experience, I can definitely say that it gives you a huge advantage in terms of FOV - it's not to say that you should look at 3 screens at once, just look at the middle one, but if there is someone moving in the side screen, you are able to detect it quite easily. Very good for snipers or shooters in general - Arma 3 for example.
2. Professional users: stock traders or video editors - you can work on several screens at the same time, without having to press Alt+Tab every time you want to switch to another screen. Saves you a huge amount of time and you are able to detect minor changes instantly and work on them.
As a programmer I've been looking forward for this for a while. (at an acceptable price that is. So a laptop of €1000 at max.)
edit: 4k is not needed. 1080p or 1440p is fine. Just like a GTX 1060. What I mostly care about are the 3 screens
Yep, this is what I would use it for. I don't need the fancy GPUs, just give me three screens.
Same. Usually keep documentation and google on one screen and my actual code and terminal, etc. on the other screen. I think the clip on idea would be better though, because I won't always need that extra screen
Imagine taking 3 paperthin oleds stacking them on top of each other, and then having a servo push the screenbezel to the left and right. Theoretically you could have no bezel separating all three screens since it would be enclosed in the same case. This could make for a pretty trippy OS feature where dragging a window to the far right or left of the screen could just start extending the monitor. Even if you only move it 10 pixels to the right, it would still function as if it is one monitor. I imagine at first it would just be half a screen on each side, and then the advanced generation of this tech could have 3 identically sized screens that extend all the way out.
€1000 at max? I'm pretty sure the base model of the pro is more than that, and I'm pretty sure their other laptops are more than that.
Yep, programmer here, the main reason I dont like laptops is I love having multiple screens to have multiple pages of code up.
If they announced this id start saving immediately, price be damned.
Linus: why do u need this
Razer: cuz why tf not
BECAUSE WHY NOT?!
I've never had 100 likes on a comment before
I’m out there this is great for designing software or 3D modeling where you often have like six tabs running at once
I hope this will be mass produced, I 'm watching this video for over three years alter and for as far as I know not for costumers. Hope this will be a thing in the future.
This would be perfect for professional work! Although the guy next to you on the plane would totally hate your guts!
not folded but detachable I reckon, because if it was folded, it would make the laptop really heavy and thick
Onur Alp Biçer what about detachable and foldable? So it comes off then you're not using it and folds up into the same footprint as the laptop so you can easily pack it with the laptop when it will be useful.
If you sit in the middle, you can all play a game against each other :')
why? then the person next to you could use the most right screen to watch a movie.
Ser Garlan Tyrell The thing with folding is if you fold it inside, you won't be able to see the middle screen when for example say you want to take the laptop out of your bag to check something but don't want to bother taking the 2 monitors out first, or if you fold it outside, not the back side will be a screen and it will be more fragile.
I would buy this as a programmer.
you only need two max as a programmer. one for running code realtime, if you're actually coding in something like erlang, which lets you do this. even then, its a ridiculous thought, over the top. but something makes me want it nonetheless.
Im a beginner programmer myself and can assure that 2 monitors would be more than enough.. Maybe if you're doing really advanced stuff then the third one can be of use, i dont know im a beginner anyway..
2 for actual programming, 1 for fucking around
Good point
If you were a senior programmer, you would know. Third screen for movies. :)
Dude, I think this BEAST of a laptop needs to be available for purchase by the consumer, and I will explain why.
First off, for the professional content creator. Then you have your Gamer/Twitch Streamer;editing and streaming simultaneously and/or while editing videos sounds like a god-send. There are the RUclipsr's; have multiple screens for editing and mixing, chatting/social media.
It has so many purposes, a device like this has endless amounts of potential and people will buy it, not only for it's performance but also it's *WOW* factor.
A few personal suggestions:
1) Allow for external triple monitor display capabilities as well
2) Have as many USB and other popular connectors for maximum useability
3) Allow for single screen, double screen, and triple screen capabilities natively. That alone is a huge plus.
4) Allow for docks on the undercarriage
5) Choice of having high quality sound system, but not mandatory (if not already available)
6) at least 1080p capable built-in camera
7) Adjustable angles for each side-mounted screen (where they can be the same angles or different)
4 years later this is still cool
''TOP SECRET''.... yup, very secret
I don't know anything about this entire LinusTechTips CES 2017 video that Linus himself attended with his camera crew and such to film in a studio he has special access to for the purpose of product review and edit all of this various footage and sound into a four minute and six second RUclips upload.
I know nothing about it.
Lol jk
DoctorBlackson no
This seems like a Streamer's dream machine.
nope
Flotts Gryffin You're joking right? No big streamer would ever stream on this or even for that matter a laptop lol..
***** oh, see, I forgot that streamers never travel and have scheduled shows at the same time, and only play graphically intensive games. And, of course, no streamer would ever benefit from being able to see OBS, their chat, and their game at the same time. Silly me.
Flotts Gryffin Yeah I think Syndicate who actually got to see this exact laptop said the same thing.
with the screens being non adjustable in height you are gonna have to play on 3 screens which are in a position not recommended for long hours of game session. this is going to break your neck, give you back injuries or neck strains. You arent gonna be gaming on this comfortable like a desktop would offer. We also all know that more screens = more electricity. and when more electricity is consumed its also going to generate much more heat and its already in a compact format so this thing is probably going to toast whoever sits with it for hours on end. I would not recommend this for gamers and specially not for streamers who tend to sit and game for many hours in row.
Lenovo W700ds ThinkPad was actually the first laptop with more than one display with a 17" display accompanied by a 10.6" reatractable display. Released in 2009.
Would definitely use if priced appropriately. Programming, systems architecting, and administering. I have a quad monitor setup at home and it's always a bummer working on the road with reduced monitor space. I've been getting by with vDesktops though.
Could be pretty sick for music production honestly...
i know right
.
or for video editing
Maker's Muse lmao, its bad for both
Well people usually dont use laptops for music production let alone video edition... You need a really expensive laptop for video editing and even that might not be enough. Not even seeing it for music production, since its for laptops...
stockbrokers/traders would snap these up in an instant
Webdeveloper, i second this...i'd kill for it if it weighs under 4 kilos.
Imagine how much easier life would be at a hackathon
toby1248 i am a financial analyst and i would live one of theese
can confirm I really want this...
Yeah, My first thought
I love this kind of thing. I like gaming on my laptop, the keyboard and screen distance is just right for me.
They are on the right track, but the extra screens need to be thinner...
With the thickness of tablets now, it's easily possible to have them slide in BEHIND the main central screen, one behind the other, each behind the main.. on a kinda clicky-latch mechanism (like you get for microsd slots, or some doors on PC cases etc)
Give it back, Linus. Razer is crying.
Umm. He built this
nice one
+rwdplz1 i havent stopped crying
yhea now we know who stole it during the convention
ut then agen its there flaut since they just left it on top of the table unguarded LOL good steal kill
Surround monitors in laptop. That is a big 2017 tech forward. :D
slidenjoy a 2014 product did it better.
3 monitors on a laptop is fucking retarded! i have a 3 monitor computer set up and use only 1 monitor!....
Computer Hacks! then this isnt for you. I edit on 1.5 monitors, desktop on .5 monitors and google on one. perfect use case
Totally!
maybe you should learn to live a little bit more....
I find it awesome. You can work so many things in the same time and much faster, in work and even in games. I think it's a great concept. I will look forward to it :D
Absolutely YES!!! I have been waiting for years for a company to come out with a built-in multi-display laptop. This laptop is a dream come true, and I would be MORE than happy to do my design work from any coffee shop I typically frequent with a Project Valarie laptop. I'm an architectural designer and I use Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp Pro, 20/20, MS Office, and Photoshop on a daily basis; many times I have ALL of those programs open at the same time including multiple web browsers. This would drastically improve my productivity.
i would kill for that thing. even if i could only use it for work
Have been available since 4 years ago: slidenjoy.com/en/
yes
The weight? Hit the gym
if you fight someone to the death in a chainsaw duel! i will give you the money to pay for it!
Frosty. if you use gun let me give you the ammo for that thing !!
i would pay 4k for 3 screens on a laptop than 4k for Mac book with a touch bar
KitCat CandyPony agreed
KitCat CandyPony yup I would too and I'm not a gamer
KitCat CandyPony i agree completely
2k for just an aluminum body and perhaps a power cable xD. extra 2k if u want a "laptop"
Andrew Tes 2k for a dual core with minimal specs...
I would absolutely buy this, maybe just as a flex but it would be really nice to be able to extend the screens. It should have a button (probably above the keyboard) to extend or retract the screens so that you could use it either as a full setup or if you have limited space then just a chunky laptop.
I'd hook Left and Right screens to screenshare applications so I can show people what people back at my office are working on. I could show project and time-sensitive information like trial-stage software to clients without carrying anything with me that would be "very very bad" to lose.
"the technology will not catch up for like 10 years" *Shows it working perfect*
Nojus Šimkevičius in reasonable framerate is far from perfect for linus
the other 2 screens dont work so you're wrong
matistis reasonable frame rate for linus standard is 144 fps..
not 30..
The tech will be affordable for mass production and quality to cost ratio in a goood number of years. doesn't matter if it works.
peter K Monitors are retractable. The screens have hinges/tracks on them. You an see them throughout the video.
This vid is secretly market research
brendon lay true
brendon lay that is exactly what it is
They very clearly said that it's exactly that. No secrets there.
Yup. "Secret" for those that dont see it, but yeah, they basically want to see reactions to see if something like this is worth it for the company to make money of.
Ojasvi Sharma sarcasm mate ;)
I just bought a 5th wheel to live in full time, so space is something I don't have a lot of. So the thought of something with triple screens that fold up is wonderful. Video editing, coding and gaming on a "portable" scale is something I am very interested in.
they are absolutely on the right track and I would still buy this in a heartbeat
If people buy macs I bet they will buy this
stroodle01588 People that buy macs think that apple is the leading brand in computers.
lol some people. having both a gaming pc and a mac. theres advantages to both. i used to be sheltered as fuck, like you, before i decided to buy a macbook. lol they are good for different reasons :)
thank you john
John Poulis If I want to write an essay I'll buy a typewriter.
Razer - the Apple of Microsoft PCs.
I need this machine for:
1. Age of Empires II
2. Work (IT stuff)
wtf, only ever met one person that's not me or my brother who plays Age of Empires II!!! You sir must be a great person : )))
Mr. Mars hey my good sir! Im not so good at the game but I love it, maybe one day we can at least play against the AI at hardest :)!
Well actually, after tons of toiling I managed at one point to win against 7 AI on hardest, when I did deathmatch on fortress. It hard as hell and takes forever, but after a couple hours the AI's literally just stop making units for attack and just build towers all around their bases, and you can just take them all out. :P
Mr. Mars I always play RM, in my days I win against 3 AI at hardest. Nowadays I play with a friend against 2 AI at hardest and won 95% of the time. I have not play against humans so often, I need more practice XD.
dmax Ha, ok. Yeah I never managed to even begin playing with other humans because I never bought a newer version & didn't know anyone that I could 'LAN' with.
THIS IS THIS PROJECT SHOULD COME TO LIFE IT CAN ALSO BE USED AS A MUSIC STUDIO MACHINE. I WOULD BUY THIS.
They are on track because if it made it to stores then RUclips creators can have three screens to manage recording on one screen and play on another if you are live you could pull up the stream on the last on and is portable so you could record anywhere
How much 20K ? A Kidney?
nope, your soul and your right leg.
Eddie R nooo not my potato of a computer
H C i sold my soul what other can i give
It be 5-6k
fuck me, i need a new profile picture
I wonder if it would come with a 50kg separate battery you would have to carry in a separate backpack or will it just run for 5 minutes?
I'm pretty sure it's meant to be used with a power cable attached to it, basically a desktop replacement small enough to carry around.
" small enough to carry around "
ItsTheWilly exacly because is smaller than a case but with much power and big monitor
the idea is that laptops fold, it would be bulkier but the sarcasm is unnecessary
Ever tried to pack your rig with your monitor(s) for a lan party? You could put this into a backpack.
As a software developer this would be amazing. I would jump on something like this because I can have my IDE on one display terminal on the left for compiling and run the application as I make changes to the right or debug window on the right. This is how I run my desktop.
i loved the klip on idea. i think that if your going on the move all the time and need to edit stuff or work on what ever. it can be a good idea to have 2 screens to just klipp on. then you just have that one during normal use.
This is perfect as a portable workstation. When it comes to working on games for me, 3 monitors is a hard setup to beat. Being able to bring that with you while you travel and set up in hotels is pretty useful.
As a developer I would buy it. Its a good option when you need to constant switch the rooms in the office. Also if you have a lot of open applications that you need to continue switching from one to another. ex: remote connection, VMs, IDE. It will be good if you could have one the screens as a touch screen(for testing the applications on a mobile device emulator).
I would love a laptop like this for cad modeling, Photoshop, and even just writing on one screen and ebooks/webpages on others. However I agree that if it could be done using thunderbolt and some sort of mount that attaches it to a standard razer blade laptop then that would be just as good if not better provided the mounts are really secure with no wobble
Waiting for Razor to launch this kind of gaming beast
I'M a gamer
Razer*
Its a pretty one, but i want to know how long the battery will last with 3 monitors.
Lucas Towers 3 minutes
Lucas Towers good point haven't thought about it
I was about to say the right exact thing haha
but it brokes the main idea of laptop, for that purpose just build a desktop pc and done.
Looking i'm getting a lot of likes, i want to say hope you have a great start 2017 everyone.
yeah right
we like laptop cuz its small and easy to work with
but this need a full set up
i think in may cost 2500$ something like that
build a desktoop is better
This is perfect for computer programming!! ...and creative work in general.
CIRUS MEDIA Its not a product, its a project that will be ready in 4-10 years.
linus asked who this would be for, and cirus just answered. No one mentioned this being a product
***** Not only is the HTC vive cheaper than this prototype, but its better
Then just open a game and find out that you have 1 fps
CIRUS MEDIA I agree I use a razer blade stealth for embedded programming it's awesome. I need portability but crave multiple desktops the qhd display really helps but nothing beats having two or even three displays. Plus with programming graphics power is not going to be a bottleneck compared to multiple monitor gaming.
I'd buy this. I use three monitors at home, three at work, and I'd love to have three on the go. Having three distinct, insulated workspaces is invaluable to me.
Hey. It’s 2020. I have a total need for this for work. I’m running Education livestreams, so I could use the screens for audience participation and of course zoom calls while looking at paperwork.
just make ultra wide laptops
i just had an idea,
a 21:9 ultrabook 0.0
that canadian guy too late they go back as far a 2012 mate... even got curved ultra wides now.
i mean a modern one because all 21:9 ultrabooks i could find are thick (compaired to modern ultrabooks) and ugly IMO.
Just picture, a dell xps 13 (example) with a 2560x1080/3440x1440 21:9 display and with the extra width why not throw in extra storage
and when i say 21:9 i mean if the laptop is wider itself
that canadian guy yeah I think ultra wide laptops are the way to go they are just so much more functional that way as it fits the keyboard better etc
Ultrawide is the most horrendous trend that appeared this decade. 16:10 remains the best aspect ratio. The only advantage of a 21:9 display is media consumption and gaming. For anything else, it's shit. If you're a programmer, you'll understand why. I mean, for any kind of text reading, having to scroll down every 4-5 lines because of the lack of vertical real-estate is a _huge_ pain in the ass.
I like it because I can monitor 2 website real time to make sure up and running by browser refresh every 1 min and make sure they are not hacked and defaced or down for reasons such as power outage, dns, etc... I will use middle screen for remote server connect
with the advent of flexible displays In the mobile world, I can see that an impelmentation for this for professional engineers would be awesome (using a flexible screen than can be unfolded to a larger size. This would mean I can carry my thin laptop anywhere around the world and at the same time still have a multiple monitor setup to keep my productivity as high as ever.
Shut up and take my family
Neck Rawfeel dude....I'm a fan of your brain
This made me spit out my drink it was so funny, now my laptop is ruined. Fate, I need this laptop.....
i would buy that if it was at a reasonable price.
i am a hardcore gamer that likes multiple screens, video edits from time to time, and loves ultra wide gaming.
Hardcore gamer. Wants a laptop. SMH
I cant carry 80 pounds a mouse and a keyboard and 3 4k displays plus a power generator with me to work or on vacation.
that's why i said for a reasonable price. if it is 200-400$ more than a the desktop equivalent id buy it for its portability. besides I already have a beastly tri-screen desktop.
Sure, I'd buy a Bugatti Veyron if it was at a reasonable price too!
as an arquitect this came very handy I actually do use this configuration with normal monitors and my laptop
Linus, I am a software developer currently traveling the world with my dog. There is a whole community of us (called Digital Nomads) who work online while traveling. My current setup is large and clunky (foldable table, desktop computer, 3 displays attached to the table with clamps). This is exactly the kind of thing I’ve been searching for. Let me know if you want more info about the digital nomad community. There are thousands of us.
Data analysts would love this. SQL, spreadsheets, emails.
Digital media. Photoshop, Premier, browser.
Web dev. Notepad++, browser, server.
Streamers. Game, chat, browser
Pirates. Torrents, websites, media player.
not for practicality XD
Regular person: porn, fb, youtube
Totally. I'm an app front guy, I code and test web pages all the time in a dual screen rig, and I could use two lateral screens when on the laptop. The people at the local cafe can screw themselves if they don't like me using a table at the corner for half an hour.
Hey boss, buy me a $4000 razor laptop coz I want be the more productive web developers.
Good fucking luck with that
Yes ... that's the idea ... to be mobile and to have more screens at the same time.
As a programmer i would love to have this
As a programmer this is something I've wanted for a very long time
PNathan same here, being able to have references on one screen, my IDE on one and a third one as a preview of the result would be Amazing!
Same. I was tempted by the kickstarter
I absolutely love this idea, I think it's super badass. If it were to work properly and efficiently, I would totally buy this
as you said Linus, it is an excelent project to inspire new products.
If I would want to buy an item like this (honestly I'm not a multi-monitor fan, I´ve done it, don´t like it). I would design the two side screens as half 16:9 screens (8:9) which are the same height of the main screen. these screen can be placed in the back of the main screen, so when you want to use only main screen it will be just twice as deep as a normal screen.
when all full displayed, you can have a 32:9 screen, with only a thinner black gap (I hate them) and a much wider view.
Yes. This is awesome. If getting Dual 1080 SLI, a Kaby Lake laptop i7, 3 4k screens, and a mechanical keyboard in a "laptop" is possible, then it needs to be real.
In a form factor like the Blade Pro, SLI probably isn't possible.
Even if it's larger, it would still be awesome.
DerpFails
for sure.
there is a laptop that has 1080s in sli and a mechanical keyboard but its 7cm (about 3 inches) thick and heavy enough to break your spine if you tried to carry it on you back
Woodie 2714 which one is it??
Triple monitor laptop would be great.
for what?
university in the cafe u can plug in and have web open word and more
Cad.
Although I could easily get by with only two monitors. It wouldn't look very symmetrical though.
Piipperi800 search up "slide n' joy"
Exactly, then you could argue to just keep it plugged in, But a laptop is for portability. Everything about this Product is hypocritical. At least in my opinion
As creative professional (illustrator/animator), this is definitely a product I would really buy, and might make me switch from a desktop. Hope Razer comes out with this soon!
I do Data Science work with tensorflow, CUDA, etc, and I love gaming. This thing is just about perfect for my needs. I'd throw down money for it in a heartbeat.
Linus, return the laptop back to Razer before they arrest you please
