The reason Gojo was dodging in this fight,is because the tool that Toji was using is the “inverted spear of heaven” that goes through any cursed technique including limitless, so limitless even with the older Gojo wouldn’t stop the “inverted spear of heaven” from hitting him

It's crazy to think how this whole between Toji, Geto, and Gojo makes such a huge impact on things later down the line. Starting Geto's monkey hatred arc which leads to more stuff like the movie, and Gojo saving Megumi and becoming a teacher. Gojo could've became a villain right there if Geto didn't keep him in line
Truly a huge turning point. I swear this would’ve been an entirely different series if the main bad was Gojo 👀

Revealing and explaining your cursed technique is a self imposed binding vow involving giving your opponent information about your technique in exchange for a boost in power.
The binding vow also works with heavenly restrictions.
Gojo was dodging because the cursed tool that Toji was using which is called the Inverted Spear of Heaven is able to bypass Gojo's limitless as it can negate all cursed techniques. You can see this in episode 3 when Toji catches Gojo off guard and the cursed tool breaks right through Gojo's defence.
Gege is an awesome author, but he's also crazy smart and will not miss a chance to let you know how big brain he is. Just wait till we get to the real complex shit.

@whydoihavesubs6644 I need to correct myself. They're* crazy smart. I don't actually know Gege's gender. Used to be? I haven't seen any decline personally. I would be interested to know why you feel that way. I'm current in the manga, and Gege seems to be at their peak as it pertains to just how far the power system can be explored and expanded upon within the rules of the rules they've made us aware of. Not to say those rules haven't been broken, but it's not as though the precedent for the possibility of rules being able to be broken hadn't been foreshadowed throughout the series.
Unless you're referring to Gege's health issues, which I'm admittedly relatively ignorant to all the details of. It seems all too common among the greatest mangakas. It's unfortunate.

The handling of gojo's death based on how the fight played out was poorly written, in my opinion. Obviously i expected him to die because for the plot, he needed to. I also dont really think it's been that great of a story since that chapter (236).

I respectfully disagree with your point about Gojo. Now, I have reread the series 3 separate times now. I have crippling ADHD so I do a refresher at what I consider to be major story moments so I can kind of refresh myself. I would've been lost during a good few of these recent moments if I hadn't. It's wild because JJK isn't the only series I do that with. The amount of One Piece I've read.... imma leave it, lol. You get it. That said, I personally thought Gojo's death was handled well. I guess I would need to know what you specifically didn't care for about it in order for anything I say to change your opinion, but that's not my goal. Your opinion is yours, and not everyone needs to agree with me at the end of the day.
Off the top of my head, I can say that I really liked the airport scene. It would take me far too long to go through and point out all of the little things throughout the story that really made it hit even harder for me. I thought the chapters leading up to Gojo's death as well as a few of the earlier chapters at the beginning of their fight were hinting at what Sukuna was ultimately trying to do. That's not to mention the subtle hints all the way back in Shibuya during Sukuna's fight with Mahoraga. I'm not saying that Gege planned out every single step. No author ever does, so it's silly to assert that. However, they, at the very least, had that particular attack planned since then. I also really liked the proclamation of Gojo's victory in the chapter beforehand. The basic reason is simply because it's a call back to Gojo's "Nah I'd Win" quote. I would elaborate more, but for the sake of brevity, I'll stop there.
I also disagree that the story has dropped in the quality. I don't blame anyone for feeling that way. Gege did take the story in a direction and has made a few choices that would inherently make any fan raise an eyebrow. I'll just say that I'm letting him cook. I won't go into all my reasons, but Gege has earned enough trust from me to let him bring this all together before I reach any solid verdicts. I personally really enjoy where the story is. It reminds me of a lot of some of the best aspects of some of my favorite arcs in manga history (Chimera Ant, Arrancar, and Frieza Saga). The pacing seems a little off at times, but I think I'm seeing why they've chosen to do it this way, but we'll see what happens. I could be wrong.
Either way, I get where you're coming from. I'll just say that I don't think that's a reflection of Gege's intelligence. Some of the most intelligent writers lose steam, slip up, or write themselves into corners. The great ones can write themselves out of them. I don't think Gege has done any of those yet, but even if they do, we'll see if they can pull it out of the fire. This was always going to be a tough ship to land without casualties. I don't envy them lol

Gojo. The attack itself made sense and how it happened. I just didn't exactly like how it was written (being off screen) and I especially didn't like gojo's dialogue in the afterlife about the fight. Him saying he'd probably have lost regardless of the ten shadows just felt very much to me like gege trying to cover his ass because they knew they were going to get tons of backlash for that choice, and also shitting on the character (as we all know they hated gojo). Since the fight played out in a way where sukuna DID need maho to survive and win. Obviously since that fight, we've seen that he most likely would've won with his upgraded form, but gojo didn't know about these powers. So for him to talk like that felt very out of character and just disrespectful to his character to me (and many others)
13:00 No. The spear/sword toji was using attached to the chain is a cursed tool known as inverted spear of heaven. And it can nullify any active cursed techniques including infinity. So if it hits gojo, it would really hurt him by bypassing infinity. That's why he was dodging it.

Still curious then on why he was dodging during the fight with Sukuna.. that’s what I meant when I said story/plot-wise, it seems like they were making him dodge either to make for a more exciting fight (for that particular one) or maybe to just not give any hints about infinity as early as ep 2 -Lisa

you will learn about it in ep 9 of s2 I think still a non spoiler explanation is - Top tier in verses can do something called "domain amplification" which is basically using domain barrier on themselves, which allows them to hit anything so it passes through infinity. Though the weakness of this is u cannot use cursed techniques while this is active.@@SxSReacts
gojo can use infinity but hasn’t mastered it yet. the sword toji was using cuts through any technique tho as stated in the previous episode so he had to dodge

revealing ones technique is a pact, youre allowing them the chance to plan against you by revealing your hand and in turn the universe rewards you with strenght.
The reason Gojo was dodging is that Toji was using the cursed tool "Inverted Spear of Heaven" which nullifies any active techniques. It is the same tool Toji used earlier to stab him, bypassing his infinity. Even an older Gojo wouldn't be able to stop it with his infinity.
Toji literally set God's fear into Gojo soo much that after taken down by Toji, he practiced one year full to keep the limitless technique on automatic mode...
Gojo had to dodge because the weapon that Toji was using can bypass all curse techniques including limitless. The weapon is called “inverted spear of heaven”.
So it's like this, the spear that Toji is using is called the "inverted spear of heaven", which breaks through any cursed technique and would break through even the current older Gojo's limitless technique so it's not like Gojo didn't learn to activate the limitless but the fact that he knew that the spear that Toji is using would break through the limitless technique no matter how much he'd reinforce it.
_Geto and Gojo is like a bunch of teenagers enjoying their youth & then they became adult been through hella shit in life that's how i view it. Either way Geto lost everything after that it's like after you returns to war and you got trauma that you can't never forget._
I love this episode so much! Toji when he died he gave his "blessing" to gojo (megumi means blessing in English) while he gave geto his curse (literally) and we all know how both of them turned out. Also that knife toji uses can nullify any curse technique. That is why gojo had to dodge the attacks and why toji was almost able to block red
Gojo was dodging the attacks because of the cursed tool Toji was using. That cursed tool can force release all type of cursed technique including limitless that's how he stabbed gojo in the first place. Gojo already know limitless, remember he used it in episode one stopping knives.

Gojo can use infinity but he cant sustain it for long at this moment. It will be explained how can he sustain it. And Toji can hit him even with infinity because of inverted spear of heaven that negates all active techniques

gojo's standard for right and wrong were set by geto during this time.If geto wouldnt have stopped gojo from killing all those people we might have had an evil gojo in the future simmilar to sukuna who only lives by his own pleasure and displeasure.
