Parallels between Sukuna and Gojo are common in the story,like when Gojo told Megumi to be more selfish,yet after Yuji dies at the detention centre Sukuna tells Yuji that being too selfish will earn him retribution
Toji left Megumi at a very young age so it makes sense he may not have noticed right away. And I do think him not having full control of his body had a part in it as well.
yeah the eyes also show when hes more 'there' they change from dark/almost black to clear when he remembers and regains control for long enough to end it.
He didn’t even remember the name he gave his child so I have no idea why he thought he would recognize him immediately or care.

Toji may not have been a good father, but the man loved Megumi greatly in his own way.
Jogo was actually strong but the problem was he had 3 fights and two of them were against Gojo and Sukuna which just makes him look like nothing even tho he is probably the strongest or second only to Mahito cursed spirit we've seen.And yes Sukuna is human, back in the day he was a Curse User and in his time he basically defeated every jujutsu sorcerer and cursed spirit because as you can see he enjoys fighting and wants a challenge.Right now Sukuna is a cursed object i think since he split he's soul in the fingers that's what he would be classified as and The King of Curses is just a title.Btw another great reaction can't wait for the next ep

Toji was acting based on instinct. He wasn't himself so that's why he was attacking his son. When he got control of his body for a second he killed himself so as not to kill his own son

All of Shibuya happened in the span of a few hours, and it changed the entire series. Probably the most impactful arc in all of JJK
I really don't think that they portrayed Jogo as a weak curse, every battle he show at least 4 attacks that can literally kill every sorcerer in a instant . But most people don't watch the "fight" and just watch the "match", that is like watching bear against a pit bull. You can't tell "bro, this pit bull has weak as fuck", you need to notice what the pit bull is doing in this fight

guys. sukuna is not a curse spirit and never been. he once a human, strongerst sorcerer in the heian era, he then died but turned into cursed object (probably due to binding vow) and lay dormant for 1000 years, he is currently a reincarnated sorcerer inside of a vessel (this is all explained in S1). and for the title "king of curses" it refers "curses" as in the power system of the series itself. hes the king of this jujutsu stuff. 👍
This dropped right as I finished your episode 15 reaction, so it was instant gratification to see your reactions to the Toji x Megumi fight plus the Sukuna x Jogo fight (and a bit of stressful "red light green light game" with Panda and Kusakabe)! And you're right about the high intensity of each fight, so it's understandable to take a short pause! I'm actually glad I watched it week-to-week when it aired because it's a whole lot to take in! Phew! 😵💫Excited to see what you think of the rest of the arc!
P.S. Toji really came back with the milk after about a decade, beat up his "blessing" (translation of Megumi's name), then bounced before he had to pay child support 😂🥲 Megumi has the 2nd worst matchups behind Jogo...they both get beat down every time 😭😥

The Fushiguros are tragic characters and I agree, I wish we could've seen more of them. The joke about Kusakabe is that he spend most of his time avoiding curses in Shibuya only to come face to face with the king of curses himself, but his character is so real

Sukuna was a human who became a curse king, Gojo explains this in season 1 ep 2. From my understanding, Sukuna is the complete opposite from Gojo from what I saw from another comment was that Sukuna had to learn everything and become strong whereas Gojo is just innately strong. (idk if that is true, but Sukuna the goat either way)
Oh we remember Gojo saying Sukuna’s just the king of curses, not specifically he became one. So we were curious if this was just a title he was given or if it’s literal. But we did learn in the next ep that he’s not a cursed spirit so def still makes us wonder how/why he’s the king of curses 🤔
Also that’s interesting if Sukuna had to learn to become strong! We really need that backstory lol
In the manga, someone asks Sukuna if he was "born the greatest or became the greatest?" And his reply was something along the lines of "I don't know, I was a weird kid." HE IS MY KING !
I won't go too deeply, but the difference between Gojo and Sukuna philosophically is more nuanced than talent vs hardwork

Toji realized that Megumi rejected the Zenin clan which despised Toji. The only reason he left Megumi there is because he understood that with Megumi's ability being so coveted his life would be pampered and happy. But despite that Megumi still rejected the clan to live his own life outside of their politics and corruption. Remember Toji had no power like Maki but a Heavenly Pact so the clan would reject him as well. So to see his son inherit the clans most precious power and still reject THEM must have made him proud.
Toji died twice while Megumi was his last thought
Not to undervalue Gojo because its not like he's not put in effort, but Sukuna is the epitome of a curse user that got to where he is through absolute dedication and mindset, which brings me to respect his name way more in comparison. And it shows, because everytime he's on screen, you feel like you learn a bit about the intricacies of cursed energy.
His respect for strength comes from his experiences and its not a personality trait that comes out of left field. Jogo really was no scrub, and would've been way stronger provided he had a different kind of mindset. Its something Sukuna will portray often in the series.
I never thought about it but Sukuna essentially had zero reason to freeze Panda and those guys for the Meteor attack. He just did it for fun. It served no purpose and he did it in the middle of a fight while Jogo was using his strongest attack.
16:54 I feel like it was like this in manga too. Same pacing I mean. (I read after season 1 before movie came out. Reading chapters of season 1 was hard, because I've already seen it before, but then I read all other chapters at that time in 2-3 days, maybe that's why😅.

It’s once Megumi used his 10 shadows technique is when Togo realized it could only be his son. Megumi is the only person alive that could use that technique
It's never specifically explains why Toji* recognized Megumi, but megumi is not the only person who could use ten shadows, its a staple of the Zenin clan and highly sought after in the clan. Toji had explained to Naobito that megumi was "talented" but Naobito reveals that young megumi hadn't gotten his technique yet, telling Toji "I'll pay you double if he ends up developing the Ten shadows". So toji had no way of knowing his son developed that technique.
@@marksman24444 it not specifically explained but when Toji stepped into the shadow technique during their face off it’s inferred that it could only be his son since nobody in Toji’s time had the technique, but he knew Megumi having it was a possibility
@@marksman24444 Only people in the Zenin clan can use 10 shadows correct, but it doesn’t mean everyone actually has it. Just like Gojo only people in the Gojo clan can use 6 eyes but it doesn’t mean every has that technique.
@Jacofall55 He could have also come to that realization at any time during the fight, Megumi was using 10 shadows the whole time. My interpretation is that he saw megumi's "talent" by nearly getting the drop on Toji despite being so much weaker.
@Jacofall55 Yes absolutely, everyone gains a "random"(probably not the best word) technique from their bloodline, I just mean Toji could've assumed that he was fighting another Zenin potentially a member of the Hei or even higher. It's weird how he only took notice of megumi when he nearly fell for his trick and almost got stabbed. Maybe it's a combination of the two, this is why I wish Gege would do an AMA

Jogo was extremely powerful but his luck was so worse that the two time we saw him fighting with were gojo and sukuna the two strongest characters in jjk that's why he feels like a weak curse spirit
I mean jogo was the one that picked the fight with gojo and accepted the fight with sukuna, so it’s more so stupidity than luck.

You may not know that. Sukuna now has 14-15 fingers, Jogo's strength is actually around 9 fingers.
Says it in the episode
Sukuna's "King of curses" title doesn't refer to curse spirits specifically, but to everything curse-related (so essentially, it's about his unrivalled mastery of cursed energy and curse techniques and his knowledge of jujutsu). And he was born deformed. He was born with those four arms. We don't know that much about him, beyond a few things here and there. His origins, the reason for his absolutely absurd power and why he divided himself up 1,000 years ago are yet to be revealed.
And in case others didn't clarify it for you: Toji is a Zen'in. He's from one of the 3 great clans. Old man Naobito (chief of the Zen'in clan), Toji's father and Maki's father are brothers. Toji and Maki (and Mai) are first cousins and Naobito is their uncle. Toji was rejected by the family because he was born with zero cursed energy, thus deemed a loser (even if as we know, the physical prowess he was born with in exchange eventually made him such a G he could've wiped his whole clan off the face of the earth had he wanted to). So his case is a bit similar to Maki. She was born with regular human cursed energy level and was mistreated by the family as a result. Fushiguro is the family name of Megumi's mother, which Toji took upon their marriage, not his birth name. Hence when that old medium woman summoned him, she invoked "Zen'in Toji".
OH wow we didn’t expect that Sukuna was actually born with those arms.. Thanks for explaining his king of curses title too! That makes a lot of sense. Man we really hope they give us his backstory one day

sukuna was a normal human but he learned everything. He was basically a normal sorcerer like junpei but his mastery over cursed energy got him where he’s at today. No one understands cursed energy like he do. He himself said back in season 1 of ep 4 while fighting finger bearer.
Also slashes his not his Cursed technique. Kind of side technique. His main technique is activated when he chants fuga.

You should watch the Blu-ray version of the next episode. When season 2 episode 17 first aired it wasn’t fully complete due to the animators being rushed, but they were able to finish the episode in Blu-ray version and it’s way better

Yes healing with reverse curse technique is not an easy feat. Not all sorcerers can use RCT, gojo can use it but he can't heal others. It's the same as domain expansion, there's quite a handful of sorcerers who can use it

Jogo is insanely strong, yeah nanami may have been tired and such but he one tapped the lot of em, but dude just so unlucky he had to fight the 2 strongest in the whole verse. You're yet to see how strong those 2 really are, jogo is like a glock's bullet shot at a child compared to normal sorcerers, but those 2 he came across are just nuclear warheads, freaking supernovas kinda firepower

Idk if yall still reading comments but ima explain the toji thing and why he attacked megumi,in the ep before this the narrator said toji had become a murder machine and was just fighting the strongest person near by. so after dagon died next strongest near by was megumi so toji attacked him.But when megumi brought him closer to himself toji saw his face really close up and realized it was his son

Toji was just a killing machine at this point and for the that moment he got fully control over the body and remembered megumi and when learned he was not in zenin clan he was happy that gojo saved him. Toji knew he can loose control again and hurt megumi if that happens so he decided to end it. He cared for megumi and his wife he even left his Assassin's job but when his wife died it became ti much for him he felt like he cannot look after megumi alone ir Megumi would be better in zenin clan that's why he decided to sold him even tho zenin clan is trash but for those who got megumi's talent of ten shadows it's a good place. Also Gojo in my opinion would be 15-17 finger scale.

@@kamaldhillon775 it’s not about opinion tho, sukuna was at 19f and ate a curse object to give him an extra finger worth of strength, so basically 20f, then has 10s which he fully mastered, with mahoraga, with agito, and the fight was evenly matched throughout for like 12/13 chapters. 15-17f level sorcerer isn’t going blow for blow with 20f and even beating him in a lot of moments.

And maki and yuta are really strong yea, they’re able to put up a fight, but none of them are able to and hasn’t been able to so far to put up a fight like gojo did, that’s an objective fact. Also I think you’re forgetting the biggest difference between the version of sukuna gojo fought and the rest are fighting now. Gojo fought fully fresh sukuna, full amounts of ce, rct, domain, etc, and damaged him so much to the point they both are forced to use mostly hands in the 2nd portion of the fight cuz they both couldn’t use domain anymore and used up so much ce that their rct barely worked. So all of the sorcerers now are fighting sukuna with no domain, ce as much as yuta, even tho the beginning of the fight with gojo he had 2x as much as yuta, and sukuna can’t use rct ever since. So yea, not the same whatsoever lol
