Hey brian, quick question doesn’t xdrive bmw have a front and rear differential, why would you change front differential fluid and not rear. And how do you know when it’s time to chenge those fluids?Love your Videos btw!!
Did the xDrive fluids on a 2017 X5. Used Red Line 75w85 API GL5 on the front & rear differentials. Used Red Line MT-LV 70w75 API GL4 for the transfer case. After the 3 fluids were changed I noticed a small increase in MPG.
Hallo Bryan, I came across your channel since a few days before and I watched a lot of different vlogs of yours. I found that you are a genius and like a God father for cars (BMWs). I subscribed to your channel straight away. I have been thinking about the Bimmertech MMI kit to be installed for my BMW m135i xdrive 2013 for CarPlay feature. I found through your channel a link to look for the Product and I can actually find a lot of,quite clear, information on the Product on its Website. However, I feel it good to ask for your help and guidance if this installation does not hinder the actual idrive system and particularly the quality of the audio music sound system on my car or if it does not creates malfunctioning of the whole system. I would be extremely grateful if you can spare a little time from your busy schedule to give me your advice. I send you many greetings from Switzerland.
Really appreciate you making this video and providing the links. Any chance on getting a similar video for the rear diff? Or is the procedure identical?
I’m confused on the actual amount, ik it’s prolly diff per model, but for my 440i im seeing 1.2 L or 0.63 L in just tryna figure out which is correct ?
Don't buy into the "Special" fluid for these differentials unless it is the transfer case on an XDrive model. The front and rear differentials just need 75W90.
To clarify, the transfer case mentioned needs a specific oil because it contains an active clutch pack and is computer controlled. the front and rear transfer cases are just good ol' fashioned big ass gears.
I love all the mods, but honestly these high quality maintenance videos are the best; tough to find and super helpful. Thanks! 👍🏻
Great video! Could you do a video also on the rear diff and the transfer case please!🙏🏼
Can you guys to the transfer case cuz fcp hasn’t make a video about it yet, you can beat em to it 🤣🤣
Grts from Poland 👌🙋♂️

Always good to do both. Rear diff video launches next week 👍🏼
Could you do a video on the transfer case fluid change? Seems like the most overlooked maintenance item.
Wait so do you have to do a rear one too, if so, when?

Better than the expensive front diff fluid?
how many bottles of Red Line you used on the front & rear differentials. Can 3 did the completed job?
Best I have seen so far thanks
It does seem easy!
No adaptation reset necessary? I read something about needing a clutch adapation reset.
Red Line offers a 75W85 GL-5 gear oil for a fraction of the cost of BMW oil. I don’t see why you couldn't use that to save some money. Any thoughts?
Nice.. How often you need to change it? Would it be the same for the 2013 328i?
Awesome vid; thanks!
The fluid is the same specs also for the rear?
Hi Bryan!
Love your videos!
Question: Are the Drain and the Fill Plugs the exact same part number?
Thank you!
Can you do a coolant change video please
Thx, Bryan!
Same fluid for the rear diff on this X-Drive model?
Rear diff is a different fluid, I believe that the rear diff fluid is sold in a transparent bottle
Would have been good to compare the old oil and new plus how much km you had it
Can you try and see do n52 cams make power on n55
how many miles/kilometers it is recommended to change this fluid
Every 30k front and rear for most cars.
@@dailydriven991 ah shit mine has done 95 O.O
@dailydriven991 absolutely not, thats totally ridiculous

“You don’t want to get any leaks in your BMW”.😂
How often that differential fluid needs to be changed and is there difference between front and rear exchange interval?
I do them at around the 50k mark

is the front differential and transfer case on in the same?
How often is the front differential fluid suppose to be changed? If you are doing just highway driving...is it required at all?
I like to do them around 50k miles, personally
is the front and rear differential oil the same?
I have f32 440ix coupe and i have little oil leak from front differential, do you know what causes that leak??
Why not use liqui moly ?
i think this applied on x- drive only ?
Transfer case video?
Is this the same on a g20 m340?
How often should you do this..?
30k miles
I'm going to watch the video. Please do a lot of good videos next time. thank you.

FIRST!
There has to be alternative fluid for this crazy overpriced BMW fluid
How many litre did you fill?
