Logically you could be right regarding the speed bottle neck, but usb drives are not used as ram proper.. They are rather used as page files.. So it wont affect or slow down the system, you might not get a drastic improvement in performance anyway..

He's right about speed and lifespan.. This video doesn't target people who have strict parents and can't upgrade their 4gb ram laptop. Rather Targets someone who has the money but feels like saving some by going the pendrive route thinking there are no consequences.

Steps:
1. Insert any pendrive, SD card drive, hard drive, etc.
2. Right Click on the USB you inserted in your computer.
3. A drop down list will appear, select format. Be sure to backup your important data in the USB to another storage device in case needed.
4. After formatting, click on properties again, this time select ready boost.
5. Select, use this Device for ready boost.
Now you're good and ready to go. Rock!
