To the “lady” with the eleven children, I have heard of you here in Canada..you talk about abortion, but what you are doing is having children so your benefits will increase…here is a suggestion, birth control or tubal ligation..you are a leech who is sucking the blood out of taxpayers…the money you get doesn’t come directly from the government..it comes from people who WORK a word that isn’t in your heart…stop breeding, your children learn from you and you are teaching them not to work because you know how to work the system, and therefore they have picked this up from you…🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

It’s the Entitlement that astounds me. I own my own house and am on a 6 figure salary. My neighbour rented their house out to a family on benefits. They kept knocking on my door asking for food and money and whilst at the beginning I helped out it got out of hand. I told them enough is enough and do you know what I was told “why should we watch you driving a big car and doing huge shopping and we have to go without” BECAUSE I WORK 48 HOURS A WEEK AND AM SELF SUFFICIENT. Now we suffer abuse and rubbish thrown over the fence and stolen Amazon packages while I’m at work. Even pot plants get stolen. Needless to say my house is now on the market.

There was a time when our kids were Littles that my husband was was out of work due to injuries attained at work, and I was severely ill do to a genetic illness. We could have signed up for benefits, but we just couldn't. Both of us had at one point been on welfare as children, because both of our dads NEVER paid child support, even though they were both well off. This was in the 60's and 70's before the government really did anything. We did everything that we could to make sure that at least our children had enough to eat, and were well taken care of. I remember our leanest Christmas we had twenty dollars each to buy gifts. I got a few things at the local resell shop, and my husban made a "Dolly House" for our daughter (then 3) out of an Ikea cabinet he had found on Craigslist for free. Now here we are empty nesters, the two oldest have graduated Uni and the youngest is a Sophomore at UC Berkeley. They have all traveled to different countries, the oldest literally lives in a penthouse (works for Google), the middle one is a Scientist, and our youngest is living on her own. That mom is doing such an incredible disservice to her daughter who is try to break the cycle of generational poverty. I just hope that the daughter succeeds.

I couldn't have gone to school and worked without that help . Why not open daycare centers or give the lady with all those children free daycare while she goes to school ? Then she can have the security of a career . I'm not against getting help when your family needs it but they could be enrolled in college classes or vocational training if they have daycare assistance till they graduate.

Out of all of my pregnancies, I've only been able to get two living children into this world. I'm thankful for them. I just hate seeing people who just have kids for benefits. We have the same problems here in the States. It also becomes a generational problem. Most people who are raised on welfare, go on to live off of welfare.

Benefits for kids should be reserved for cases where a child or a parent is suddenly ill or dead.
Not for people who just have kids for benefits.
Even if you separate, you have to first prove that you didn’t plan on it.
There shouldn’t be an indent I’ve for parents to split up for no reason.

Why do these people think people who work should cover their costs? When they decide to have child after child with no plan to provide for them why is it the responsibility of people who have jobs?
In the US people lived on public aid for generations. When President Clinton overhauled the assistance program he faced lots of criticism - people were screaming babies would be dying in the streets.
    Ha! That didn't happen.
The system changed so instead of no end to public aid, people had a 5 year lifetime total. After that amount of government funding people would be on their own. During those 5 years massive amounts of services were available so recipients could become financially independent.
Welfare was NEVER designed to be lived on forever. It's always been something to help during a crisis.
Britain needs to consider such a change. Yes, some people will be very upset but it will create a positive change.
Once recipients are working they may have a different perspective about funding the children of irresponsible parents.

It makes me so sad to people feeling entitled to government benefits when some familes genuinely need help to get themselves out of a bad place. It makes everyone who asks for help look like a douchebag.
