What people tend to forget about when it comes to products like the iPhone is, while made in China, Apple controls the mfg specifications of how it is built. They choose the materials, the standards and control the OQE that go into their production units. Nobody is saying that EVERYTHING made in China is bad, but when you have a Chinese company that is deciding on the materials/standards/quality/etc and they are building on the cheap, that is when you have issues. I never listen to opinions from vidoes or even comments in the chat about how their cfmoto is trouble free.....bc I feel that everyone is biased to a degree. The true test is going to forums and seeing what the majority of threads are based around. Every cfmoto forum I look through is inundated with people having problems/issues. I'd say at least 9 out of 10 posts are like that.
It would be advantageous for everyone to have an approach when buying to avoid supporting China at all, just on the principle of which economic system that it benefits. Some things are worth more than saving a few dollars.
Its funny how people knock Chinese parts.. as if virtually everything they own isnt also made in china. Even your american made cars and motorcycles are loaded with Chinese components.. mainly electronics. Weird..
I’ve never had any good luck on honda Chinese CDIs I had one that someone else had previous put on but it was basically new and it dang near burned the whole thing down but when working on a cf moto u might as well use them since there’s no difference lol love the videos keep up the good work
Yeah I know people with cf motos that are just a couple of years old. One ripped of the trailer hitch from the frame just by normal use! Just look at the fram and a-arms etc compared to other brands. And as you said, alot of electrical issues. The newer ones are alot better i have heard but the price gap is also alot smaller compared to can am /polaris . I have a 2016 can am outlander 1000 with 600 hours on it and i have not even changed the battery yet 💪 greets from a snowy sweden
Have a 2021 CFORCE 500 has been in the shop more than it has been rode - they have changed ignition switch twice handle bar switch twice and they claimed they have done other changes ECM Replaced. I still have trouble getting the fuel pump to kick in - If you do not hear the fuel pump prime up it is not going to crank. Also watch the temperature gauge very close the relay for the fan will not kick in and it will run hot quick. I guess I just got a lemon.
Every manufacture charges delivery ect. Get an out the door price on a comparable model and the massive price difference will be there. We just bought a 2024 Uforce 600 brand new from Main street cycle for $9900 out the door. Local dealership near us wanted like $14K
Great video, Rock. Japanese Only for me. With everything you know and all your experience, it surprises me that you’d consider buying a Chinese machine. Maybe because you are so proficient at working on them. Give me a used Japanese bike any and every time. Love the content. Love when you take the victory loop/lap. Peace
Thanks i appreciate that. Honestly the only reason i was in the market for the 400 was because it was cheap and I wanted to give it a good beating and see how it held up. So much for the “cheap price”
Listen for the injector pump before cranking it over occasionally on my 520 it doesn’t fire up think it’s fuel pump relay but not often, my 625 and side by side have 0 issues in three years
Honda, and Yamaha should have reasonable quality electrical components, as their suppliers are usually from other Japanese companies. I’m not aware of too many electrical issues with Honda, or Yamaha. Over time starters, power steering motors, electric shift motors, and in some cases electronic fuel pumps can go bad, but for the most part they fare pretty well.
I have 3 hondas and 2 yamahas. The problem with the yamahas in the assembled in USA part. Sadly on my '20 wolverine x2 the roof was installed backwards (no joke), the drivers seatbelt was installed flipped over, one bolt on the skid plate had a broken head and one was stripped. My '23 grizzly has the alignment off. Not to impressed by my fellow american craftsmanship. My 2020 honda rubicon had the dct problem that took them a year to figure out which was 95% resolved with a software update. Overall I would pick the grizzly over my rubicon. Once gone through the bikes have been reliable and I would still pick them over the competition.
@ Yeah the DCT programing had to be revised due to overheating issues. I have heard things like that about Yamaha before, like with the handlebars. I’ve never really noticed any issues like that with Hondas, their manufacturing process is pretty good. I know the model I have has been out since 2014, but it’s a proven platform, and some of it in the model before that. I’ve looked it over pretty good, checking the bolts, frame components, etc. It’s put together well.
My 2022 600 has 3900 miles and 206 hours on it now. I had to change the swingarm bushings snd nothing else yet. My model already had way better clutching than previous ones luckily. 7800 Eur out the door. Similar yamaha is 14 000 for streetlegal one though.
That’s great to hear that yours is treating you well! Obviously by the caked on mud of this one, I’m sure the owner doesn’t take care of it as much as he should.
@@rockspowersports i think so too! I maintain it myself and also keep it clean. Btw the gear grinding is "normal" on these, need adjustment. But mine has never done it again after about 1000 miles, i was careful with it too.
I an considering getting rid of those miniature relays and rewire with standard Heavy Duty Automotive Relays - also sometimes the Headlight Switch Contacts - have to keep working them to make contact. Like you said the Electrical is a pain.
I have 2 of these 600 CFmoto's and my problem is cheap batteries, the battery post are junk and too soft. I have less than 100 mile on both and have had to replace the batteries.
I have the same bike but 1 seater it's a 2021 I've not really had too many problems with it With over 3000 miles now. The winch solenoid had to be replaced and a bolt came lose in the rear pinyin. Easy fix both times. But I do wish I bought a Yamaha 700 that's what I was going to get.
The first thing you do when you buy a CF moto is put a clutch kit in right away and upgrade your brakes. No surprise that there’s a delay in the clutch right now. They tuned like that from factory.
Hey rock powersports have you tried using a riding mower solenoid those are generally pretty good quality may have to do some modifying because they generally ground through the mounting hardware
I paid out the door $16000 for 2 new 600 cc They rake you through the coals on all the setup and shipping extras. Mine is the single 600 I could not find any touring addition for a year while looking. I think mine are 2021 3yrs old.
I had a 2019 Zforce 800 I can confirm it's true starter solenoid and the key switch were always bad it was covered with a tarp as well you needed to keep turning the key on and off for the starter to engage. And then injectors went bad then replaced em then sold It
All my local dealers make u pay for shipping here in nova scotia too. i think its 499 or 599 flat rate if i remember right. All brands do this unless its a used machine in my area anyways
Around me all dealers charge the shipping crating, assemble fees to all units. In the showroom or ordered. I’ve got a new uforce and new sportsman high lifter
Had alot of issues with the starter solenoids on my 14 yamaha grizzly 450. I have prolly replaced it 5 times now over the years i have owned it since brand new. Replaced it this summer again with a new starter, the original starter went out finally. Now i will say it wasnt an oem solenoid so thats prolly the issue. Just ebay specials.
I would have left the yamaha solenoid on, and just fused the ignition/acc side with same 40A fuse, and left it like that. Safe and reliable solution there.
I agree.... I've heard the electrical is bad on these, gotta dielectric grease everything once ya get it. Theres alot of parts on a quad, and it might look good from afar, but the cheap parts reflect in the price. It comes with nice rims, winch, nice guage, fake piggy back shocks, bumpers etc etc. But if ya gotta keep fixing stuff and having breakdowns than its all worthless. I noticed the plastics are super thin and bendy compared to other brands. And the resale is bad.... it might be cheaper initially, but after 3 years, the guy that paid more for the can am or yamaha or honda will get most their money back, where the CFmoto will need to be given away.
Die electric grease is actually a bad conductor for electrical componets. It's intended to keep the rubber in connectors from sticking. What can keep moisture out will also keep moisture in.
That is way too early to loose a sealed-starter-solenoid. Its tricky, parts availability long term, questionable even with the most well supported CFmoto (compared to Segway\Argo etc.) I've seen base King quad 750's even with power steering for 10,500$ Cdn ($7500 USD) I appreciate you get a free winch\wheels\powersteering (At this point all ATV's should have it, cmon Yamaha\Suzuki\Polaris) with a CFmoto, but I haven't had much luck with Chinese winches when you really need them. Polaris 570 as well close to that, I think they sold a lot of these during Covid, but these days with prices soaring, mmmm, a hard sell.
@@rockspowersports Those additional fees are rediculous, I know sometimes dealers charge like "setup" fees that can be 800$, but a pricing structure like that, with 25%+ of the total cost hidden, rediculous. (Also the 800 and 1000 are so humongous, maybe you can get one in for repairs sometime to check it out) Enjoy your videos as always, we have the cold and snow now here in Alberta, sigh.

It’s pretty tough to buy anything that isn’t made in China these days…. However, I will continue to support my American brothers and sisters by buying Polaris..

I bought a 2022 800xc and it won’t start half the time wish I would’ve just bought another Honda this cfmoto has been nothing but problems but when it works it’s a real power house
As an older person, the most perplexing thing amongst young people that I see is the willingness to buy anything from China, regardless of whether it saves a few dollars or not. Your best interests, and your country's, should be considered when sending dollars to an enemy of the west. What a mistake it was to outsource so many products we need to China because they have cheap slave labor. An effort to bring back self reliance and buying from friendly nations strengthens our base and raises self respect. It will be a long time before China can ever evolve their manufacturing to rival Japan's level of quality.
I have a 2023 600 touring and it stated doing the same thing! If ya go to speed cluster go to volts se what you're volts putting out when running ! If it is like 12 something you're running off battery ! My problem ended up being the black plastic box by battery has 2 big red wires going into it ! It's a fusible link one of the red wires back ot of the box enough to loose connection and it won't charge batt! Push wires in real good and 14.2 is what my volts read now! Bad connection
I do not trust used ATV in my area the put snorkel kits on them and see just how deep down in the mud they can bury one - Muddy Bottoms ATV Park is about half mile from where I live. People have more money than brains - spend thousands of dollars just to go out and destroy a new ride.
CF Moto are junk especially the older ones. My 2014 C-Force 800 has been nothing but trouble ever since I bought it. Ya it has really good power but ever since I put 2000 miles on it it's been broken in 1 way or another. Changed Starter solenoid at just over 2000 miles. 2,400 miles I had to put a new water pump and drive belt on it. Ignition switch replaced rite at 2,650, radiator fan replaced rite around 2,800 miles. Starter replaced at 3.255 miles. It currently has 3,386 miles on it and the front wheel bearings are going out.
New Atvs in todays market are gonna run you easily 10 grand on something really decent with some bells and whistles plus another 500-1000 from the dealership cost and then tax and reg your almost a used car out the door lol

Could be corroded. Very easy fix. I rode a 250R Honda 3 wheeler years ago and it had so many electrical gremlins that when I hit the throttle it will cut off and on. Traded it for a four stroke 200X four wheeler that ran great until I met a tree.
Why do you insist on working one handed and not use a tripod or clamping mechanism.? Your content is good but the camera bouncing around is very irritating and makes me feel like I am riding a roller coaster .
there is one good thing about cf moto..... you can buy parts..... Buy Japan or polaris..... they are almost the same in price and you can get parts.... example... textron stampede.... nice rig no longer produced and no parts!
When it comes to Chinese electronics off eBay, you have to factor in that Chinese Watts/Amps are 1/10th of a Watt/Amp from the rest of the world. If you need a solenoid that can handle 100A, you need one that can handle 1000 Chinese Amps. 😂
A lot of things are made in china now. But it is the quality standard they are made to, known good brands order better quality parts to be made in general. Others just slap on whatever is cheaper.

Its the same with polaris and can am
It would be advantageous for everyone to have an approach when buying to avoid supporting China at all, just on the principle of which economic system that it benefits. Some things are worth more than saving a few dollars.
Its funny how people knock Chinese parts.. as if virtually everything they own isnt also made in china. Even your american made cars and motorcycles are loaded with Chinese components.. mainly electronics. Weird..
I have a 2021 and never have a problem and go hard on this bike but I never put the quad under water is most dirk and sand riding
I’ve never had any good luck on honda Chinese CDIs I had one that someone else had previous put on but it was basically new and it dang near burned the whole thing down but when working on a cf moto u might as well use them since there’s no difference lol love the videos keep up the good work
I wife has cforce500. Bad battery was doing the same as that machine. Changed battery no issues after that.
The newer cfmoto side by sides have a Bosch computer box I noticed idk if that means the are improving the electrical or not
Yeah I know people with cf motos that are just a couple of years old.
I don’t disagree with the quality issues you point out, but every Japanese brand is using all Chinese made electronic parts also.
Your right. BUT whatever is used MUST meet the manufacturers standards.
Was your solenoid replacement an oem cfmoto or an amazon part? Not sure if it would matter much?
That is why we have stuck with Honda since the 300! Had a Yamaha big bear too!
And I totally appreciate that you’d do that and give your honest opinions. Thoroughly dig the Chanel for this very reason.
I am ashamed to say it, but I will, Honda, Yamaha, and Suzuki are much more dependable than Polaris, Can am. Cf moto is not even an option.
@ agreed 💯!
Listen for the injector pump before cranking it over occasionally on my 520 it doesn’t fire up think it’s fuel pump relay but not often, my 625 and side by side have 0 issues in three years
I've used solenoids from orielys made for cars and trucks, and they work fine. Ive ised one off and old tractor on a atv as well.
You got to love it!
Try the plug that goes to the solenoid mine was fried had to replace runs great now
My 2022 600 has 3900 miles and 206 hours on it now.
Got 2022 cforce 600 no issues Also have 2022 cforce 800xc no issues plenty of power.. 😊😊
Hey Rock my dads cforce 600 will crank but not start and we smell fuel .any ideas what we should look at , is it possible it’s flooded
Lol, i was looking at the Yamaha 700 too. But almost double the price...
Been seeing alot of these on the trails in Georgia.
The first thing you do when you buy a CF moto is put a clutch kit in right away and upgrade your brakes. No surprise that there’s a delay in the clutch right now. They tuned like that from factory.
Hey rock's I'm looking for some 12 inch aluminum wheels for a yamaha grizzly 700. You got any?
Hey rock powersports have you tried using a riding mower solenoid those are generally pretty good quality
may have to do some modifying because they generally ground through the mounting hardware
They are really nice looking machines and the price's are great which tells me if it's too good to be true.....
I'd be happy with the job you did, at least I'd know it would last. No way would I replace it with OEM.
I’ve never had good luck with those cheap eBay ones unfortunately. I get it though, you can buy 5 or 6 cheap ones compared to the $112 OEM solenoid.
I would have left the yamaha solenoid on, and just fused the ignition/acc side with same 40A fuse, and left it like that. Safe and reliable solution there.
Mine runs good. Starts great.
Glad to hear that!
You just gotta make sure you feel it go intol ow gear. You have to go all the way up with it.
Yeah I haven been sold on the Cf moto’s yet. Much prefer the Japanese machines compared to these.
My friend likes his !! But getting parts can be an issue !! He was down half a summer waiting on parts
With all the cf moto issues I made the great choice of buying an polaris 500 h.o 2008 instead of buying Chinese junk😀
I just want a new aircooled, lightweight 4x4 with a backup recoil start!
They fixed the clutching on the new ones.
That’s good to hear, haven’t drove any of the newer style ones yet.
@rockspowersports I drove the 2024 Overland 1000. Great machine. I have hear alot of great reviews on these. But I ride a 2023 Sportsman xp1000 with ride command and a 2023 Arctic Cat Alterra 600 limited.
Yup. Mine is smooth too luckily, i asked for the newer model when i bought mine for that reason actually.
To be.
Honest, I've owned a lot of 4 wheelers. And I don't find them any better or any worse. Then most new brands No nothing compares to the older four wheelers that did last forever
It’s pretty tough to buy anything that isn’t made in China these days…. However, I will continue to support my American brothers and sisters by buying Polaris..
Polaris, a Chinese machine that’s assembled in the USA..
@ that is totally not true
Cfmoto you need to replace all fuses and relays for better ones and dialectic grease all plugs and connectors. Did that day one on our race bike never a issue
Boomer get lost.
It's funny that you got it running with a yammy part because I was thinking listening to it it sounds like a grizzly😂
I like the Polaris 4x4 all 4 tires lock anytime in 4x4 all the time
I do not trust used ATV in my area the put snorkel kits on them and see just how deep down in the mud they can bury one - Muddy Bottoms ATV Park is about half mile from where I live.
That’s why I’ll stick to the used machines!
I have the same ATV but in a single seat. I regret buying it. Next ATV will be a Yamaha.
You won't regret it!!!
I hope all the other details on those machines are a little better than that Chinese fuse.
CF moto zero issues 2021 cforce touring.
Glad to hear that! How many miles on yours?
I have ridden one of these and yes the clutch got me first go was not smooth.
I’m happy with my 23 800 atv
Sadly no matter what you pay for any vehicle as soon as it leaves the lot your upside down
If battery amperage gets low, Starter silenoid can go out so uou want to use a better brand battery
You should have used the new solenoid and put the old fused section on the new one.
32:32 that’s the most annoying thing ever, CF’s are having this problem even if it’s a new unit, I can’t figure it out, what it’s causing that and how to solve it
If this was a Polaris it would need a full engine rebuild. Polaris is junk, i have a 2022 cforce 600 and so far no issues.
My buddy gets tired of fan fuse blown on his 2022 cfmoto 600 seems like happens as he go fast through water, now he doesn’t use fuse anymore, he using the one that reset itself thing not know what it’s called . Now he’s happy camper!!! Tie rods bolts mess up thinking factory didn’t tight enough. One a arm bent and thrown him off broke his ribs and dislocated shoulder after he gas that thing while in right turn!!!! He still thinks it’s a great buy though haha!!!
Too many threads lying around... the squirrels must be having a CRAZY FUN
That's why they're cheap but where you going to get all that for 8 Grand I have a brand new Polaris 570 Sportsman 1000 mi in the rectifier went bad I just think it's poorly made stuff maybe we can get Elon in there to make good stuff cheap like he does with SpaceX
Yeah even with the fees they are still cheaper for what you get. A comparable Sportsman 570 touring would be $11-12000 now a days,
Talk shit about atv someone else owned and abused neglected! It’s damn switch…
Could be corroded. Very easy fix. I rode a 250R Honda 3 wheeler years ago and it had so many electrical gremlins that when I hit the throttle it will cut off and on. Traded it for a four stroke 200X four wheeler that ran great until I met a tree.
My 23 uforce 100xl, 1500 + miles.ZERO PROBLEMS.
Maybe you're just a hack mechanic.
They’re literally the cheapest crap in the hobby 😂
@hunterm4188
So you believe overpaying equals better?
You are a hack.
newsflash all the other brands have chinese parts as well
A lot of things are made in china now. But it is the quality standard they are made to, known good brands order better quality parts to be made in general. Others just slap on whatever is cheaper.
Then go live there if you like their products so much..
It is a big problem when the electrical fails and there is no cellphone signal and miles from anything or anyone.
