    Is there a possibility that chlamydia can lay dormant for two years and without infecting one's partner during the two year period?

    I had just finished chlamydia treatment ( doxycycline )
    An had sec a day after with a clean person
    How long until doxicyline clears the chlamydia
    I know I should have waited but doesn’t it clear up in those seven days

    Dear doctor, is it possible to have it without penetration ?

    • @DrLane
      @DrLane  2 года назад +1

      Technically yes - if there is any fluid contact. For example, if a man ejaculates on his hand and then touches his partners genitals. Also oral sex can transmit chlamydia.

      @@DrLane Can someone get chlamydia by giving oral to someone who has chlamydia? and if so would it be mouth chlamydia?

    • @DrLane
      @DrLane  2 года назад

      @David King - great question. Yes, If someone performs oral sex on a person who has chlamydia, they can get the infection in their throat. But it doesn't normally cause symptoms in the throat, the main issue is that it can be passed on if that person performs oral sex on another person.

    Can it cause itching in males, just itching, specifically under the foreskin where the “german helmet” starts on the bottom not the opening where you urinate..and how bad is the itching if so?

    • @DrLane
      @DrLane  Год назад

      Not usually, itching around the helmet is often due to something else - like balanitis

    Can someone get Chlamydia through the cornea of the eye. By touching an infected surface.
    Can someone have trachoma and give someone else Chlamydia

    • @DrLane
      @DrLane  Год назад

      It’s a good question. Chlamydia can certainly affect they eye and technically speaking, transmission can occur wherever there is contact with infected fluid. So if someone had a lot of eye discharge and this was come into contact with another person, transmission could occur

    Is this the same as LGV??

    • @DrLane
      @DrLane  2 года назад

      Hi Don, good question. LGV is caused by a particular strand of chlamydia - in other words, LGV is caused by chlamydia but not everyone with chlamydia will get LGV. Chlamydia is very common whereas as LGV is rare.

    Im health graduate and i have a question about trichomoniasis. Can someone have trich with symptoms similar to gonorrhea and or chlamydia and mistake it for them?

    • @DrLane
      @DrLane  2 года назад +1

      Great question. Yes, trichomoniasis can present with similar symptoms to gonorrhoea and chlamydia, but is less common.
