That glasses is for nearsightedness. It's used to see something far clearly.
I wear these glasses too and sometimes I remove them when I read really small words.
Although it's unnecessary to remove them cause you can still read wearing these type of glasses. But it's more comfortable if you remove them, especially if the letters are really small.
