Everyone please please please read the labels on your food. I am noticing really bad oils, especially PALM in everything including ICECREAM. Why does Icecream need an oil added to it?? Anyway palm is a cheap inflammatory and totally unhealthy oil. Also cottonseed oil. Can you eat your jeans??? No you cannot. So why is that in our food?? What is a BIO ENGINEERED food product?? That’s on nearly every label too!!Thanks Hillary for having a channel for which I hope this post will reach many people. We need to contact our elected officials and demand better for the American consumer. We eat to live, not to be harmed. Ask your self why they can’t eradicate heart disease and why diabetes is EXPLODING even worse than ever before. I work health care and am horrified to see people on up to 7 MEDICATIONS to TRY to control their blood sugar. Granted some people abuse food. Many many many people with diabetes do NOT. Something is really wrong here and we need to make them stop it.

We definitely do try to focus on whole ingredients and cook from scratch. The short story is, we spend a lot on food, there's just no way around how much it takes to feed six people 3x a day, but I've never priced it out per month. We buy what we need, however we do try to buy quality meat in bulk which ends up being cheaper in the long run and I make most of our bread products from scratch.
Hillary seeing how much yogurt you buy I had to share! I have 4 kids the same ages as yours and we go through what seems like an insane amount of yogurt which can actually get pretty expensive at $6/container for what we buy. I started making yogurt and it tastes so good and is so easy. It’s like 2 min tops of hands on time and the rest it’s just doing it’s thing in the instant pot. I followed how Autumn Elle does hers.

I also LOVE Gingham. You reminded me of when we bought our farm in 1974 and I had yellow gingham in our daughter's room and green in the guestroom. What a great idea having it professionally cleaned. I too forced paperwhites once for our bedroom at Christmas. We had to put them in the hall so we could sleep. What an awful smell.

I am currently trying to read/listen all of Agatha Christie's works. And Then There Were None is what made me want to do it. I just loved the psychology and how she wrote the characters in the book. So good! Other favorites of hers are: The Murder of Roger Ackroyd, Sad Cypress, Appointment with Death and After the Funeral.

I was going to say when I saw the Sophie Hannah on your bedside table in an earlier video how much i love most of her books. Have you ever tried the Kurt Wallander books by Henning Mankell? It's intelligent police fiction but you have to read them in order because they're also about a changing Sweden and Wallander growing older.

Loved your info on the bulbs. I just finished the book Fair Isle Nurse. It was great as I am a knitter and it was history on a young nurse who was there in 1960's. She also went on to be a midwife in Africa and I'm waiting for that book.

I used to read so much when I was younger and all throughout highschool. Then around college and post-college, I realized I wasn't reading as often as I used to, and I really miss it. Didn't think that IG and other social media distractions was the issue 😬
My fridge is my nemesis 😢 our kitchen is still under construction but the new fridge came this week. I'm so nervous about organizing it that all our food is still in the old fridge in our living room LoL it's a little smaller which I'm hoping will encourage me to stop over buying (which I often do). My husband and I love to grocery shop and, together, we have maxed out the space in every fridge and pantry we've ever owned 😂 here's to hoping this old dog can learn some new tricks with this new fridge.

You should keep garlic on the counter. It’s too cold in the fridge and causes it to sprout (like autumn!).
Been doing it for 17 years with no issue, we go through a lot of garlic quicker than it can go bad :)

Loved your info on the bulbs. I just finished the book Fair Isle Nurse. It was great as I am a knitter and it was history on a young nurse who was there in 1960's. She also went on to be a midwife in Africa and I'm waiting for that book.

I used to read so much when I was younger and all throughout highschool. Then around college and post-college, I realized I wasn't reading as often as I used to, and I really miss it. Didn't think that IG and other social media distractions was the issue 😬

My fridge is my nemesis 😢 our kitchen is still under construction but the new fridge came this week. I'm so nervous about organizing it that all our food is still in the old fridge in our living room LoL it's a little smaller which I'm hoping will encourage me to stop over buying (which I often do). My husband and I love to grocery shop and, together, we have maxed out the space in every fridge and pantry we've ever owned 😂 here's to hoping this old dog can learn some new tricks with this new fridge.
