Beleive it or not but the song of the other team was even better, also taskmaster HAS to be enjoyed as full episodes not as compilations.
It was Nish's finest moment
Beg to differ but it's all subjective
Got to agree.
Nish and Mark's song was brilliant. Had us in tears.
Nish and Mark's song is absolutely fantastic
The other song wasn't better (although it was an impressive effort!), but the whole thing worked best altogether
Just as an aside, Sally Phillips from this series of taskmaster is equally insane but in a more frenzied way.
When she was in Alan Partridge she was hilarious, but on Smack the Pony she was brilliant
I agree..... the birth 😳🤣
Water cooler moment.
Cake pockets
@@madpaduk The best water cooler moment. We're still talking about it.
Bob released his autobiography in the U.K. last year. It’s called “And away” and it’s brilliant
The audio book is also a great buy as he reads it himself.
It's so good, I love him so much.
I loved it!
After 30 years as a fan, it's so lovely to see someone new, especially someone from over the pond, discovering Bob for the first time. A national treasure and then some.
As well as Bob's WILTY highlights (of which there are many), just watch as much (UK) Taskmaster as possible. Easily one of the best comedy/entertainment shows on TV.
Also, of course, there's years of Vic & Bob to catch up on - that's Bob with long time comedy partner Vic Reeves. Very, very silly, often very surreal, sometimes quite UK-centric (so a few references may be lost on you), but always brilliant. So look out for Shooting Stars (probably the most accessible), The Smell of Reeves and Mortimer, Bang Bang, Its Reeves and Mortimer, Vic Reeves/Vic and Bob's Big Night Out, and loose sitcom House of Fools.
@@bethcushway458 Oh my God, of course! I was that busy trying to decide whether to include Randall & Hopkirk (Deceased) in the list, I completely forgot Catterick! (Although, let's face it, perhaps not the first port of call for anyone who's not *completely* clued up on Vic & Bob.)
He had a heart operation and his comedian pal made him take up fishing to recuperate and now a successful tv show.
Paul Whitehouse, another comedic genius too
In reality Bob has been fishing for years
@@lyncohn9505 he hasn't. He does regularly collect mud from fields for his garden, though
@@dellzincht read his autibography
@@lyncohn9505 I have, he'd occasionally fished before but didn't really know anything about it
Bob's most recent programmes are about when he goes fishing with his good friend Paul Whitehouse (also a top comedian) . The phrase 'And Away ' come from when they release any fish they catch, which isn't many, back into the water, and they watch them swim off. It's a terrific show, and well worth a look, if you're allowed to.
@bobbybigboyyes and popping Bob in the bath with an egg in it
It's testament to Bob Mortimer that he's on a show here with 4 other comedians, plus two comedians presenting the show and he has them all in stitches of genuine, uncontrollable laughter.
He has only written the one book so far, his autobiography which is called "And Away", definitely recommend checking it out in audio form as he reads it himself and the delivery just makes it all the more incredible.
Also, I'm at least 90% sure that the whole song is Bob's work. He's used that exact tune in his podcast to ridicule the home town of his co-host.
I'll have to grab that too!
I think he may be one of those rare comedians comedian.
@@vernonbear bob is definitely your favourite comedians favourite comedian, good shout
@@TheMadTatter best one living since norm kicked the bucket
Loved this. Guys (and anyone reading this) if you're interested, the official TaskMaster youtube channel puts up full episodes and series on their channel for people outside of the UK. Bob was in Series 5, it's well worth a look, all the contestants on that one were very inventive and funny.
Bob Mortimer is right on the borderline between genius and insanity. Happy you guys have discovered him 😂😂
Yet amid all those squirrels running through his brain, he's a fully licensed and very competent barrister. Can you imagine him defending a client in court. I'll bet he's come up with some very imaginative and hilarious analogies to accurately describe a situation.
We definitely need more Taskmaster! there's so many great bits
If you want a cinematic masterpiece it's got to be Sally Phillip's answer to that first task.
Glad you guys now love Bob, he really is a National treasure over here. There is so much you have yet to see
Bob really does come up with the best names. In a show called 'Would I Lie To You' he tells a story of one of his friends who is called "Steve Bytheway" who had such a big head they called him 'a snipers dream'.
He’s a brilliant comic, try watching some Shooting Stars which he hosted with his comedy partner Vic Reeves, it’s the most off the wall and sometimes just stupid quiz show, his auto-biography has just been released called And Away. Best way to describe him, if ever feeling down, put some Bob Mortimer on.
His book is funny, but so sad too.
The shooting stars with Larry hangman springs to mind
What are the scores, George dawes??
@@thatsthat2612 HE'S A BABY HE'S A BABY
Jack Dee...with your face like an abandoned tunnel...like a knackered Puffin.
Not only was Uncle Bob a lawyer, he represented Jarvis Cocker when Jarvis was arrested for mooning Michael Jackson.
The Smell of Reeves and Mortimer and Shooting Stars were both fantastic shows, so much perfect weirdness for my teen years. Also, all series of Taskmaster are just wonderful.
With the Dove from above, and Ulrika ka ka ka ka
Bob Mortimer and Paul Whitehouse recently had a hit show with gone fishing. After both suffering major heart surgery
Rhod Gilbert is the best Taskmaster contestant. Funny as hell man!
Facts.
He really isn’t
Should definitely watch him on taskmaster. Especially his prize for the scariest thing
@@clairec1267 creepiest thing, surely.
@@AndrewHalliwell yes that's the one I meant though I'd have been scared if I were Greg
You need to watch "The Smell of Reeves and Mortimer" a show from the mid 90's, with his comic partner Vic Reeves. Totally insane, but hilarious 😂
Definitely agree, I used to love that and Vic and Bob's big night out
My Rose has left me.... a haunting Ballad.
@@rickb.4168 If there was one show that wanted me to go out and smash somebody over the head with a foam frying pan it was this. The interview with Sting was comedy gold too. Lol.
@@MadAl37 Mr Sting, this is your life.
@@rickb.4168 "Sting, did you let go a little Tommy squeak?"
It was so long ago, yet as soon as I see a sketch it's instant recall, brilliance! In fact my mates in these latest shows, Vaun is part of a double act himself but does the show justice with his sneaky improv!
He's such a loveable wee guy.
You guys need to check out full episodes. This particular series is one of my favourites. Bob is a weird genius, Aisling Bea sat next to him is very funny, and Sally Phillips at the far end looks like a Milf Soccer Mom, but is actually Bats*** crazy!
I love your reactions you guys are so genuine. Your love of Bobs insanity is just like all of us, the man is a one of a kind mind, akin to a Spike Milligan. Keep up the great work :)
Taskmaster, without a doubt my fav show in the UK
Bob has been on TV for as long as I can remember, the first program I watched him on is shooting stars, that's just a mental show
I am in my 40s and I grew up with Vic and Bob. They are absolutely bonkers and so funny. If you likes ‘Rosalind’s a Nightmare’ you should listen to Nish and Marks song ‘I’m always seeing you (doing cool stuff)’. It was amazing too x
Lived in London in the late 90s. Shooting Stars was my absolute favourite. Ulrikaka!
@@mr_k4tz yes! And George Dawes keeping the scores!!
Sally Philips (the Blonde lady) used to be in a comedy group called 'Smack the Pony'. The " insensitive English language teacher" and "English as a foreign language" are two sketches worth checking out.
Yes you're right Bob was a trained solicitor, and he was asked by Jarvis Cocker, to represent him in a case brought by Michael Jackson! Bob said "What the hell did you do?" Jarvis said "I showed my bum on stage when MJ was performing!"
He looked like a total fool out Jarvis when he did that 😂
I didn’t know he represented Jarvis. How did it go?
@@gemma3954 he didnt actually represent him as no charges were brought forward, in fact I don't believe the police were even involved. MJ's security detained Jarvis at the show and locked him in a room. Jarvis asked for Bob to give him some legal advice in case MJ did want to press charges.
Taskmaster is soo good! They are making a channel/website/app (something) so everyone worldwide can watch taskmaster! So excited! A greg and alex best bits would be hilarious!
Seconded, Greg and Alex are absolute Geniuses in their own right but throw them together and watch the world burn🤣
Bob's career sidekick is Vic Reeves. When they get together, it's just comedy genius. They are the equivalent of Picasso and Dali doing a double act. Magical.
Bob is part of the comedy double act Vic and Bob and they first got their big break on TV doing a show called 'Vic Reeves Big Night Out', I was 20 at the time and had just gone to art college, it was an instant hit and was simply unmissable, me and all my friends watched it religiously every week, I'd definitely recommend you watch that show as it's one of a kind, they also had a long running comedy quiz panel show called 'Shooting Stars' which was absolutely hilarious, love your reactions and would love to see you react to some more Vic and Bob.
Bob's autobiography "And away" is available as an audio book narrated by Bob himself. I highly recommend it.
Any Bob Mortimer stuff will bring the masses to your channel!
I grew up watching Bob Mortimer and he's inspired be so much. He's undoubtedly the funniest man in the UK.
I love taskmaster, one of the best UK TV shows around, I love Bob but there’s much better moments in the show than even Bobs genius bits!
Joe Wilkinson and the potato toss is still my absolute favorite.
Taskmaster is my favorite show on the planet. Mike Wozniak is the best contestant of all time.
You've not even started on Shooting. Star's yet !!
Peanuts!!!!!
Bob also has an hilarious podcast called " Athletico mince" that he does with his mate. The funniest podcast around.
love a bit of bob
I see Bob Mortimer, I watch
I'll add to those saying his auto-biography 'And Away' is brilliant, his life story is amazing. You should definitely read it
It's in audiobook as well and he narates it which is good.
Bob moritmer teamed up with vic Reeves on multiple occasions but an underrated appearnace on Never Mind The buzzcocks (our msuic quiz hosted by Mark LA Marr AKA the rmost bitter comedian in town) is well worth watching.
Hearing Bob talk about his graph on Taskmaster was one of my favourite parts of the entire series. It's a must watch!!!
You need to see Bob with his partner Vic Reeves, Dr. Shakamoto.
All the afternoon delights are great, but that one makes me hurt from laughing.
Bob Mortimer has been around a long, long time, but he's only got better with age. He used to be known for quite lad culture sort of humour, but now it's just these amazingly weird stories. There's so many insane clips from Would I Lie To You
Bob talking about his high anus had me laughing harder than I have in years. You should definitely try to check out an entire taskmaster series. The 5th series is still my favorite because of him.
When Taskmaster came out first, I didn't like it as I don't like pranks. Then one day I watched it and now I am hooked.
Some compilations are amazing as they show how people interpret them. Some of the interpretations are awesome.
You guys are covering all my favorite British shows! Taskmaster is my favorite show!
Bob hugged Alex in the trunk of his car because he had never been in there and wanted to know what it felt like.
Bob qualified as a solicitor and briefly worked as one for a local council in London but left when him & Vic Reeves were offered their first t.v. show while he was in his twenties. He is most well known as part of the double act Reeves & Mortimer who were revolutionary in British Comedy in the 80’s & 90s. Their biggest show was Shooting Stars, definitely check that out but also check out their first show Vic Reeves Big Night Out and their surreal comedy drama Cattarick.
And offered his services to Jarvis Cocker when he was arrested for crashing the stage and waving his bum at Micheal Jackson.
He has a great autobiography out. It’s like 8 hours of these stories, non stop!
A British comedian who is random and unique like Bob is a guy called James Acaster, I would recommend his stand up or he's also been on taskmaster
I've been away from the UK for over 20 years. Comedy, banter and football terraces are about all I miss.
I'm really enjoying catching up ..😂😂❤❤
Now you understand why Bob is a national treasure and a legend here in the UK 😀🏴🇬🇧
You should watch Shooting Stars. It was a panel show from the 90’s/early 2000 with Bob Mortimer and his comedy partner Vic Reeves. VERY random show (as you can imagine) it’s iconic!
You took your cap off, Bob is the chosen one!
You might like a show called "As Yet Untitled with Alan Davis". It's a show in which a group of comedians have a drink and talk shouting experiences they have had. There are different comedians each week.
OMG! This is my favourite tv programme! I re- watch over and over!
Love this show. You should really give it a try. Lots of season's and don't need to be watched in any order. If you loved the 15 mins of Bob you will love the 8 episodes of him in it.
I'm 36. Bob Mortimor has been on our screens for about 30 of those years. And he's still brilliant. Watch Shooting Stars - his show from the 90s with Vic Reeves - if you get the chance.
I love the baffled and concerned look on Mark Watson's face at 3:38 -- the sort of look that screams: I have no words.
You’ve got to watch Sally Phillp’s highlights too, it’s amazing 😂 we were spoiled with that season: Sally, Bob, Aisling Bea, Mark Watson and Nish Kumar was a truly legendary cast!
The line "Rosalind's a fucking nightmare" finds it's way into my mind weekly, love Bob
Bob is one of the funniest men on the planet. Watch everything he has ever done and you won't be Disappointed.
Bob Mortimer, Billy Connolly and Karl Pilkington… the absolute dream dinner party! Daniel you totally ‘get’ UK humour and I’m here for it 🙏🏻
React to Taskmaster the series. There are more new people you will discover and fall in love with: Mike Wozniak, Guz Khan , Morgana Robinson are some of the funniest who have been in the latest series (11 and 12). The ones who make the show such a great success are Alex Horne and Greg Davies. They are a genius combination.
Morgana Robinson is amazing.
Also, if you can find it "Alan Davies: As Yet Untitled" AD plus 4 others, usually comedians but not always just sitting round a table having a chat. Hilarious.
How can you leave out Rhod Gilbert and James Acaster?
@@andrewreaney They're brilliant but not in the latest series.
If you like sereal humour, Bob Mortimer and his comedy partner Vic Reeves, used to host a very bizarre game show called 'Shooting Stars'. I can't imagine you ever seeing anything like it before. It's mental!
“Rosalind’s a fucking nightmare” 😂
I loooove that you've reacted to Taskmaster! Pretty sure I requested this of you guys 😂 During the first lockdown I joined an online group whilst we all had to sit indoors... We shared videos of ourselves doing stupid tasks
Bobs train guy skits on Twitter are amazing!
Have a capachoochoo on me and as always, you are an angry Mackerel!
Comedy quiz shows are something that we get so right in this country, and there are so many that are worth checking out - any of the following programs "best clips" are worth checking out:
Taskmaster (like this one!)
QI (Very smart, very surreal - the first 10 seasons hosted by Steven Fry are epic, the others done with Sandy are also good)
Nevermind The Buzzcocks (Music quiz, best for Bill Bailey and Phil Jupitus)
Have I Got News For You (awesome political comedy)
Mock The Week (The spiritual successor to Have I Got News For You)
Would I Lie To You?
8 Out Of 10 Cats / 8 Out of 10 Cats does Countdown
The Big Fat Quiz Of The Year.
Edit - the song challenge that you see - they don't win the task, but the winning song is something else, it's truely incredible.
Bob Mortimer has got an Autobiography out. You can buy it from Amazon.
Taskmaster = best show on TV
Afternoon delights on youtube are brilliant little clips where Vic and bob play crazy characters. Please react to all these, you'll totally love it as part of your bob experience.
When I saw this on my feed I went 'YEEEEESSSSSSS'!. Nice one lads! My sister bought me his autobiog this Christmas. Really funny.
My family is full of Bob Mortimers it's an English quirk to be so blunt
Great reaction as always guys.Loving how you are already at the, 'Ah, Bob.' point already.
The whole taskmaster show is awesome,
I keep watching your reactions to this!! You cheer me up no end. Please don't ever stop!! Watching you 'get' bobs sense of humour is fantastic!!!! Sending best wishes from Shakespeare Country in UK 🇬🇧 👏 🙏🙏🙏💞💞
I generally don't like Reaction videos, but I'm genuinely happy to see you two discover Bob Mortimer.
The blonde woman singing is Sally Phillips, she's the receptionist giving Alan Partridge the fake names in your other video 👍🏻
I like seeing you find your random way through all these links, you get to jump across 30 years and some of us have had to do that in real time 😮😁
Bob is a legend. 👑
The song is brilliant, although the song the Nish and Mark came up with was much better. Had us in tears, especially as we live in Southport. Southport is a coastal town in Merseyside, about 18 miles North of Liverpool. We can see Blackpool Tower from the coast.
We love Taskmaster, and the episode where they sang is one of the best of all the TM episodes.
Look up Taskmaster on line, it's interesting how it came about. It was initially a bit of fun Alex was having with some comedian friends before it became a TV show. Even though Gregg is the Taskmaster, the concept is Alex Horne's idea.
Some fun trivia for you: Bob had a legit number 1 in the UK music charts in 1991 with Vic Reeves covering 'Dizzy' by Tommy Roe. They also got to #3 with a cover of The Monkees 'I'm A Believer'.
You gotta get his biography on audiobook. He narrates it himself. Fcking brilliant
Great reaction...TaskMaster is one of my favourite shows x
I’m sure someone has recommended vic and bobs big night out. But more recently has been gone fishing with Paul Whitehouse, really chilled but funny x
I have watched this video god knows how many times it is my favourite I honestly thought Daniel was going to be sick from laughing 😂 love you guys x
PLEASE React Too.. BOB MORTIMER On WOULD I LIE TO YOU x
They have mate, it's one of their best videos
Nice one fellas👍hard to believe that Bob used to be a solicitor/attorney before comedy👍
And a probation officer.
His video of the face in the cheese puffs is the funniest thing I've ever seen
When he did 'The Smell Of Reeves and Mortimer' with Vic, there was a lyric on one of the intro songs that went (if I remember correctly); "I love the smell of Meatloaf's stage tights"
Bob has a terrific podcast "Atletico Mince". It's about English football but you'd never know. Well worth a listen.
Bob is a complete legend and so well loved over here.
The Stotts characters from The Smell of Reeves & Mortimer interview Sting and have him in tears. Sting and the Stotts are Geordie, where Sam Fender is from.
Sally Phillips special cuddle from the same episode is even better.
We so so need you lovely chaps right now 🤣🤣🤣🤣
The Song for A Stranger task works so much better when you see both songs at the same time, Bob’s team seems so much more offensive after seeing Mark and Nishes quite complementary song first, I think that is probably my favourite task from all 15 series so far
You guys really need to check out an episode of Shooting Stars, Vic and Bob's amazing TV gameshow.
There is a Reeves and Mortimer book. I don't have it but I did read it years ago, it's brilliant!
Comedy GENIUS, but i think he is from “MARS!” lol
Taskmaster is a rabbit hole you need to go down BUT you have to watch them as full episodes from start to finish in each series. Will give you a real depth of knowledge of British comics
Bob lives in his own world and he occasionally allows us to visit. A mind like no other.
