    Thanks so much for this Tess. As someone with autism who is studying at Esthie school, it’s amazing to know that online options are out there. I really struggle with social anxiety, so this may be super helpful for my future. Thanks!!

      There are soooo many options outside the treatment room and if you want to do both you can! Wishing you so much success and happiness.

      @@nicoleh6182 things are going so well! I'm very grateful we managed to find a school (we're In the UK) with small class sizes and a teacher whose son has autism and understands the levels of anxiety I experience! It's made a huge difference. Every day I feel like I'm improving on my craft and it feels wonderful! Wishing you both the most luck and understanding♥️♥️

    Just started this video and I had to pause and say thank you for talking about the physical difficulties! I never hear anybody talking about it but as somebody with scoliosis it’s something I’m thinking about constantly. I’m physically unable to do a full day of treatments so my in-person practice will forever be limited. I didn’t even think about that aspect of being virtual.
    Also-both in the spa and in my personal life I don’t know many people that are interested in spending a lot of money on new products. I’m still new so I struggle with how to navigate the question of “are there any other brands you recommend?” when I talk to them about the products our spa sells. What do you do if after your appointment your client doesn’t want to spend all that money or wants to know what other kinds of brands you recommend?

    • @TessZolly
      @TessZolly  2 года назад

      Great question. I think it might come down to- do you actually recommend those cheaper options? What kind of results are they after? Since I don’t speak on drug store options, I rarely get asked about them. When you educate about what you do believe in- you attract those who see your value!

    I love your videos on this topic! Would you mind doing a video of preparation for the business, for example establishing as a business with the state & everything pertaining to running an online business legally, taking payment from clients, how much inventory we should start off with just starting out.. things like that. I know in my state (TX) we are legally able to operate an esthetics/spa business in our homes but is it the same case when doing everything online? Hope this is making sense!

    • @TessZolly

      Yes, because this varies so much state to state I would recommend talking to your accountant/ tax preparer for the most direct help :)

      @OliveGreen9722 Год назад

      @@Thatsickchick Yes. Very difficult. I suggest seeing a medical genetics doctor if you can. Insurance can be iffy with those, though. Also, google doctors that treat Ehlers Danlos syndrome and sometimes that can be helpful. It is a tough road. Sending you gentle hugs.

    Hi Tess I'm glad to see that you're doing a lot of things some of your older videos I remember when you started school and finish and that was wonderful. Can you please tell me have you ever thought about going back and becoming an instructor you've been out a couple years to be able to teach you and I think you would be great in it. If you haven't thought of it why,?? Can you do a new video to let those of us know now that is a pandemic still around and now monkey pox how would an esthetician go about in dealing with that. What is the do's and don'ts in your opinion. Since the pandemic since it's still continuing in many states and you really see it a lot during the fall although they try to just get everybody vaccinated now. How has that affected the business.. what should be the average starting pay in your opinion for a esthetician coming out of school??

    Hi Tess, this video was so informative! I am pursuing virtual esthetics as well due to the treatment room burnout. I currently do not have the capital to send the products i want to my clients. Is that a hinderance if i want to do virtual consulting as a business?

  • @mskimnicole08
    @mskimnicole08 2 года назад

    I’m so glad you’re ok. I wanted to know how you price your virtual consultations. Do you set one price or is there a price for the consultation and a separate price going forward?

    • @TessZolly
      @TessZolly  2 года назад

      Thank you so much Kimberly. Wet floors are no joke!
      Yes I do set my consultation price, and a separate price for follow ups that is not as high because I want to see everyone back.
      I started lower and raised my prices with more demand. You don’t have to do it this way but it did work for me. Xo

    Hi Tess, I’m thinking about going to esthetician school but the program that I’m interested has temporary closed their spa due to the pandemic. Students will be able to bring in their personal friends and family and practice on staff and students but I’m worried I won’t get as much hands experience as I should. Do you think this is a red flag? Do I need a lot of hands on experience in the program or will I learn outside of the classroom when I’m working?

    • @TessZolly
      @TessZolly  2 года назад

      Hi! Ooh well if they do give you the same hours on staff and friends I don’t think that should be a red flag! I also recommend watching videos on massage and practicing at home. I think that will be ok!!
