    Myla is so adorable. She is trying so hard !

  • @didisun6083
    @didisun6083 4 года назад

    I should also mention that my child cannot stand from floor yet and she cannot squat either. The only reason that she’s taking steps is because she’s just fearless with basically no proprioception whatsoever (like to me her balance and strength is just not there, but she just doesn’t care and will take steps to get where she wants to go, I think she always think that I will be there to catch her when she falls)

    • @pediatricPTexercises
      @pediatricPTexercises  4 года назад

      I think the fearlessness is very common in normal development around the time children walk. But as an adult watching...it can be very fear full! If you are super worried you could always get a little padded helmet. They come in all sizes.

    Myla is sooo cute! Her laugh is infectious, definitely made me laugh. I love how she has so much support as well. My hypotonic child has recently taking her first 4 independent steps as well. But instead of bending her knees when she falls down, my child would just fall with straightened knees, is there anyway to teach her to bend her knees so as to lessen the impact when she falls?

      I do not know your child. But in general when I have an older child who is still fairly uncontrolled with their walking, I make sure I work on core strengths, practicing falling and catching themselves, and try sensory work and body awareness work to see if it helps With the frequency of their falls. I try to analyze what is making a child fall, is it fatigue, or poor ankle control, or poor body awareness, or eye control, etc. Then I try working on what I consider to be the difficulties. I wish you the best of luck.

    I have 2 questions my toddler who have low tone cannot stand without support and cannot walk without support,he can cruise and stand while holding onto things...he is 27 month old,I gave him a walker to use to push and walk with it but he just don't push it,he pushed his carrycot on our bed once took two three steps while holding onto it and pushing it soo it means he can use a walker too but he just dont do it,any advice
    And my second question is that what is myla age when she started to walk?
    Than you bless you dear

    • @pediatricPTexercises
      @pediatricPTexercises  2 года назад +1

      Myla is two years nine months old in this video. I guess you need to look at the qualities of the walker that you have. Does it provide higher or lower support compared to what he has been successful with in the past. Does it move easier or is it harder to move than what has been successful in the past. Does he walk Better on a hard floor or soft floor. There are a lot of factors to consider. It would be best to discuss this with your physical therapist who can help problem solve the answers with you.

      @@hauntedmobile9005 There is probably more resistance on the Carry card, then on the walker. You may need to add some resistance to the walker to allow your child to be a successful. Sometimes I add weights to the walker, and sometimes I just bind up the wheels with some string wrapped around the axle.
