Thank you SO much! Your videos are so incredibly helpful, especially now since almost all PT is virtual. I've learned so much to be able to work with my 7 month old grandson, who has low tone. I can't thank you enough!
Thank you for your kind words. I am 56 years old. I have had no significant bouts with back pain. But I will say that I exercise five days a week to make sure I am in appropriate physical shape to engage in my profession.
This child has not had any incidences of dislocations. I i’ve never experienced that issue with a child with Down syndrome. So no, I was not at all concerned. I have had multiple children with down syndrome have patellar dislocations though.
I certainly use walkers with some of my children. I recommend you find a local pediatric physical therapist who can determine if a walker and which particular walker would be best for your child. Here is a research article about Walkers that may help you. www.researchgate.net/publication/308000485_Evidence-informed_clinical_perspectives_on_selecting_gait_trainer_features_for_children_with_cerebral_palsy
Hello Amy, thank you for sharing this information with us. Recently found out that my sons low tone is as a result of SMA1. He is only 5 months old. Can you please tag me on videos that can help him?

Unfortunately it’s considered unethical for me to provide treatment recommendations for a child I have not personally evaluated. I can’t say that typically when a child comes to see me and the family is given a Home program, I ask them to perform the 3 to 5 exercises over 30 minutes an entire day.
