I was using the 787 last night and did a flight from Vancouver International to Los Angeles International and was having this issue. I’m going to have to try this tonight. I might’ve lost my internet connection during the flight because when I departed from Vancouver, there were some players, but when I arrived at LAX (which is usually very busy) there weren’t any players at all. But I was having the issue with only hearing the copilot response and not ATC. I even made sure the text to speech volume was all the way up in the sound settings.
If there is not a lot of other traffic make sure that your are online. Both airport are indeed really busy. Since ATC didn't work it looks like it couldn't reconnect since ATC is Azure based in most cases unless you changed the setting which again requires internet access
My problems with ATC in MFS ended the moment I decided not to use the azure voices. I rather have robotic voices that give you right instructions than pretty voices that tell you to descend from FL400 to 6000 ft in less than 6nm and to expedite it!
well I am not sure if that is an azure voices thing I would expect it is more a msfs thing. However based on your comment it looks like to crazy expedites are also resolved when switching Azure of is that correct?

I couldn’t do more than one 30 min flight without the crazy expediting happening, it’s been two days of me deliberately doing 2 to 3 two hour flights in a row and everything runs smoothly from begining to end. But as I said earlier, it worked for me. It is interesting to see that many diferent things work for some and not for others, even on the same specs. Creepy SIM seems to have a mind of it’s own for real!
I have set the ATC voices to OFF but i can't hear neither them or my pilot voice... In the options i only have two options: azure and OFF. Can someone of you help me? I had enough of azure voices
In the a320 is it on the left side but you cannot change it, it looks like there is a high correlation with the number of other aircrafts which are in the air. I am playing around with some settings and once I found a stable method I will post a new video

I am having a similar issue the difference is ATC works at first but then goes silent after about 10 mins into a IFR flight. I have tried it in the Airbus 310 (the stock plane) as well as the Airbus 320neo both stop working after so many minutes, only solution is either turn on AI ATC (ie I don't reply and just ignore it) or return to desktop and start again.
@High in the flightsim sky they should have had this fixed by the 40th Aniversary edition. 40 years to work on ATC and they still can't get it right ha! EDIT: Still not fixed even WITH the su11 beta holy smokes 😳
I know the replies have been 5 months ago but but I think what is this Sim update 12 or 13 I'm using the c25c and still the same thing it's like the air traffic control gets overwhelmed if there's all kinds of replies what's interesting is I've noticed I have multiplayer and real-world traffic plus the AI traffic on so I think it's a combination of AI traffic and real-world traffic something about those two I feel like there's just so much going on the game just doesn't know what to do and it goes silent
@@dextercampbell796 I honestly thought this bug was dead but once again it reared its ugly head when I could hear ATC but couldn't hear myself. I switched freqs but that just resulted in like two separate conversations one with me replying and the other giving guidance
So I'm using those c25c and I've noticed that I have multiplayer AI traffic and real-world traffic on at the same time and it seems that I think the system gets overwhelmed with all of the voice chatter and somehow it just shuts itself down I've tried the volume solution and it does not work
I know that this is an old video, but I stopped playing msfs2020 a couple of years ago because of bugs and I still have the same issue. Is it better to use azure or offline? Basically atc stops talking if they’re interrupted.
@@Highintheflightsimsky I just stopped playing it again. I had better luck with offline, but for some reason my A320 would just take a freaking swan dive and start spinning while on autopilot. After this happened a couple of hours into a couple of different flights, I just said screw it for now.
For me, I was using FSRealistic and somehow that knocked out the AI communications. Once I turned that off and restarted MSFS, everything was working fine.

La solucion definitiva que me resulto fue la de instalar el paquete de voz en Ingles de windows (en mi caso tengo windows 11 en español) y solo tenia instalado el paquete de voces en español. y santo remedio volvio a oirse el ATC. ojala le sirva de ayuda a alguien.

ok that is weird are you only playing on a pc or also on xbox ? Looks like you configuration file is corrupt but I do think settings are stored in the cloud, let me check if I can find something
For me it’s an UFT-8 problem (having UTF-8 beta checked)… only happens when flying IFR and it’s also turning batteries off and on again! And the flight plan is bugged, sets an waypoint on the other side of the globe… it sucks beacause when I have UTF-8 beta uncheked I have the problem with that you always start on the same airport with the same plane so you always has to delete the flight plan and garmin planes don’t follow flight plan when starting cold and dark… all beacause I have a non english character in my admin name in windows! Hoping it will be fixed one day, but it’s been one year soon… Haha, fml… happy flying btw!
@High in the flightsim sky no not at all. Sorry. It's an atc glitch in the sim itself. You can tell it's not a volume problem. For mine tower text appears and ai pilot immediately responds... there is no pause where they're talking and it's just muted. The audio for only atc stops and there is no volume knob in the default boeing aircraft just fyi

It was the VHF volume control wheel below the CALL button on the A320

Hi JM yep correct ATC has a dependency on your internet connection if you use Azure for the voice generation

looks like there are some connection issues introduced in sim update 11 which Asobo is working on

Turing off flight following worked for me

yeah maybe that is it if I use fsltl I sometimes also observe it get’s lost, not always but sometimes

Still happens occasionally in my case I have the idea it has to do with the load/number of active players

None of the suggestions worked (airbus 320). Not you're fault, MSFS 2020 is broken. The title should have been MSFS 2024.
keep reporting those issues to Asobo that is the only way to make them aware (if they are bot already aware) of these issues

to bad, for some reason it also look like to be related with the amount of traffic, at least that is my observation
This issue unfortunately has plagued almost all of my flights. And it's worse on Xbox since there's no 3rd party ATC available on that platform.
yeah I also have it occasionally sometimes I think it has to do with the server load
