    By 1924, George Gershwin had abandoned the workaday grind of churning out revue material and set his sights on his first Broadway musical comedy. This time, he was joined by his beloved brother Ira for LADY, BE GOOD!
    "Fascinating Rhythm" was introduced in the show by Cliff "Ukulele Ike" Edwards and quickly reprised by Fred and Adele Astaire, the brother-and-sister specialty dance act. This Gershwin production gave them their breakout roles in a musical comedy.
    Recorded April 19, 1926 and released in June
    on shellac UK COLUMBIA 78 #3969 (A3184)
    Reissued 2004 on 4-disc SONY BMG Music various artists CD long box #C5K 92899,

    Don't doubt the date, but get a hint of the 1930's here. Always associated Fred with Ginger Rogers, did Adele frequently appear with him?

      Oh absolutely! They were a team from childhood and remained so until Fred left for the pictures.
      I find it disconcerting that brother and sister are making dance moves more suitable to a couple.
      Great to hear George's piano.
      I can picture him at penthouse parties, working, while everyone else drinks and smokes.
