Alphonso, I really appreciate your clear explanations. You're precise and concise, which is pretty rare. You would make an excellent teacher, if you aren't one already. Knowing how to something really well is one thing. Being able to share it is another. Thanks again.

Hi, Alphonso, I write you from Barcelona Spain. I'm a drawing teacher and I like watching what other people ( teachers, artists or simply people who like drawing like me) do and diferent ways of teaching how to draw. I like your videos, you speak very clear ( wich is very important for people who don't have english as a first language, like me) and your explanations are very precise. Thanks to share your art with us.

Not sure if you intended this but, at the beginning of your video, as you are explaining the importance of light and shadow on any given object, you keep presenting your pencil, a cylindrical object, to the center of the paper. When I pause the video, it is the perfect example of the very thing you are emphasizing. Bravo!...By the way, my portrait picture is the latest drawing I have done. lol had to throw a plug in there somewhere, Hehe.

That was SO cool! You make drawing look so easy. I used to draw a lot in my youthful days and ended up going into the graphic design side of things as I got older. Now I've lost that passion and I'm trying to get back into some art on paper. Mixed media mostly but lately I've been doodling and started feeling that love for drawing again. I was looking for tutorials on how to draw African American features and found your hair video (with the fro and locks etc). SO inspiring! One day I'm gonna follow along with your vids and see what comes out :) Glad I found you. (and so cute too!) :)

This is a video where I learned a lot very fast. Oh when you talk about Light and shadow you sound like Rod Serling: Of light and shadow of things and ideas, you have now stepped into THE TWILIGHT ZONE.Can you feel the drama?

A video i watched recently talked about flattening out and increasing the quantity of the texture around the edges. Like how if you look at scales there will be more towards the edges because it is turning away from you. I see that you aren't really following that rule and I was wondering what your thoughts on that. Great video though! helped a ton
