I have been searching high and low on HOW TO shoot in video mode on my new Canon camera. So glad I have stumbled upon your video. I have the 90d. Question: Can I film in TV or AV mode? I have been filming in TV mode and find the lighting is orangey - yellowish. There's no way for me to adjust the shutter speed, just opening up or closing the exposure. Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Also: should I do a custom white balance?
If you want the camera to assist with exposure, put the camera in shutter priority so your shutter speed stays the same. If your color temp is off I would set a custom white balance to help keep it under control and from shifting while you film. If your lighting is consistent, I would just shoot in full manual so you can set the shutter and aperture to keep it consistent.
Use a color temperature meter. You can get an app for your phone that will give you a general color temperature for the room that you are in or you can pick a specific spot for it to pull the color from. Then go into your cameras white balance and choose the K for kelvin option and set the color temperature to match.

I know this camera is now a couple years old, but what are your thoughts on its ability for videoing hockey games? Lens recommendation? The lighting in arenas varies. I tend to edit and like to pick highlights for slow motion. We're talking youth hockey but I'm looking for quality to upload. Is there any other camera you'd recommend to consider?
Hi Jared, if I select MOV in "Movie rec. size", I get only one option and that is FHD 25.00P and that is also not highlighted. Tapping on it gives this message... "Not available because of the associated functions settings -video system". What does that mean and what do I do?
I wanna know what was the AF MODE when you record mulitple people? Face tracking, Multi or single? what works better when videoing more then one person in frame?
I want a camera photo where i can record with at least an hour with no interruption? Is it possible to find something like that? Or I have to buy a camera video for that?

I mean, if we've a scene where they talk, then the voice/audio would be faster than the actual recording, and then it would get out of sync. Am I right? I hope you can answer my question. And this is probably a stupid question, but what is actually shutter speed? I was always wondering. I hope you can reply, thank you!

I have the 600d since 2012 i am happy with it but my only problem is it stops every 12 mint( 4gb) with class 10 memory card . I planned to upgrade if this camera can shoot more than 12 minutes (until 29 mint) with out losing 1 seconds of your recording . Thanks again

But , I figured the 50fps vs 59fps out , I'm a beginner. I had the camera set to pal when it should have been set to NTSC.

Tell Canon to stop skimping because of import regulations. Canon purposefully did that, you can't.
Ralph Patora yes you can. to do this, stop recording before 30 minutes re-record after and piece all of those videos together in editing.

Same here, it depends on where you are from, seeing that you are getting these frame rates I am guessing that you are from Europe
