- Taking a microbus is a great alternative to taking the train to get from Cairo to Alexandria. In this video, I show you how to find a microbus going to Alexandria, some tips and tricks for taking a microbus, and most importantly, where to get off once the journey ends! I also talk about the pros and cons of using a microbus vs. using the train, so you can decide which option is best for your Egypt adventure.

You’re welcome! Always happy to share my experiences in Egypt.
Hi I’m in Cairo I was in Alexandria yesterday and I loved it
Awesome! Glad you made it up there!
Thank you! This is an awesome video.
The microbus is a good backup to traveling by train if there massive delays/cancellations of train trips. Also the only form of shared transport if your destination is actually a small town or village along the Cairo-Alex Desert Road.
Otherwise I prefer the train 💺🚉🚞
I prefer the train, too!
Hi Gus, thanks for this. So useful. Do you think they are still running currently on 2024?
Yes, the microbuses are still running. The price has probably gone up, but you can just ask on the bus what the cost is. Enjoy your time in Alexandria!
Ugh I can’t wait to go. Will be there end of the month God willing! Hey are you there now? I’m sorry to keep bothering you. What test did you show when you went? Rapid antigen or pcr? I’m just so paranoid that if I travel and show egypt airlines my rapid antigen they will say I need the PCR even though I read your blog and it clearly says rapid antigen is acceptable. Maybe I’m over thinking but i haven’t yet heard anyone get through the airports with just the rapid antigen.
I will be there on February 25, and I will try using the antigen to get in. If you have other questions, I would be happy to set up a consultation to go over them. You can send me an email and we can set it up.
Great videos you’re making, it’s not even available in Arabic language in RUclips , looking forward for taking microbus from Alexandria to Cairo video.
Thank you! ❤️
I think you have to make a trip to the New Administrative Capital one day. I'm looking forward to to see your perspective about what is going on there .
Yes, I plan on going out there in the next few years. I’ll make a video when I do!
Is there videonfor go bus?
Sorry, I haven’t done a Go Bus video yet-I should do one in the future! Their website is very easy and straightforward, so hopefully you can use it to book.

Hi. I am trying to get the 30 day single entry eVisa on their website (visa2egypt) but when I'm about to pay it keeps saying "3d authentication failed". I contacted my bank and was told there's no problems on their end. Anyone else having this problem?
I’m not sure what that is. The e-Visa is notoriously glitchy, so I usually recommend buying the visa at the airport for $25 upon arrival. It’s super easy! www.egyptadventurestravel.com/blog/how-to-buy-a-tourist-visa-to-enter-egypt-online-or-at-the-airport-upon-arrival
