I have the same only that the cam carrier has cracked. Still need to do a rebuild on it. Looking forward to part 2. It would be useful to have a step by step of the installation.
This gent knows his stuff ….his explanation gives you the realisation just how big a job this is and it’s not cheap when it’s the diesel Countryman ….I’d steer clear of The Cooper D range countryman a great drive but dam awkward for mechanics to work on as you can see
Hello friend. Great job, congratulations. Look, I urgently need your help and experience. But I'm from Portugal. My Countrynan R60 Diesel had to replace the engine. I did the work but I had never worked in any MiNi! Now that I have the engine in place there is a record that I can't find the right place for it! Even more, the engine does not start, it only makes a noise like (tac) when the ignition is given and does nothing else! Can we contact you via Skipe or other similar means to help me? Thank you
We are SOOOO busy I cannot commit to this - however check - (1) can you rotate the engine by hand (2) the earth strap on the top left of the engine - did you reconnect it. (3) are both the connectors connected and tight on the starter motor?
the good thing for you calling your self the mini specialist as you you know this design is shit all the customers will call you and say have you seen issue with XYZ win win
The Mini being repaired is Mine and I can't recommend Hugh and the Mini Specialist enough as they go above and beyond to help

Can't remember now - we have had them for ages - think it was an ebay vendor.
Hi, i cant see anything definitive about when you should be changing these. Is it recommended to change these at a certain mileage or age?
After this type of damage to piston does it require any time of repair or its okay to put back as it is?
the Pistons are usually fine as the valves take the damage
