    The classiest guitarist ever. I never tire of hearing his licks. Incredible.

    Mark Knopfler / Dire Straits has been on my must see list for years - finally the stars lined up and I was able to see him at Madison Square Garden on the the 25th Sept. Thought maybe I'd left it too late and he'd be past his prime - how wrong I was. Such an awesome concert and a legendary musician in an iconic venue with a great backing band. Thanks for sharing this video and bringing back the memories - I can die happy now

      But don't die too soon - hopefully he'll be back with more amazing music! We've got to be there, right?!?!

      @@Ravenscaller I did and I'm a hardcore Knopfler fan now. Used to listen to Dire Straits, but I'd never seen him live, and he blew me away - I loved every song I heard and most of them were for the first time. His guitar was amazing - I'm serious when I say he's better than the Beatles. I never thought I'd say that but it was Incontrovertible after that show. (Never used that word in a sentence before but it expresses exactly how I felt! There was just no doubt in my mind. They were at the top of my artist list for many years, but now he is. I just hope he doesn't retire because the world needs Knopfler! : )

      @@crlchs Well, the Beatles are hard to top, but one aspect that tops the Beatles is Mark's guitar. There are countless who are faster & flashier, but to EMOTE? Wow! The feeling Mark brings to his playing (although much slower & less flashier than in his Dire Straits days) takes one to a place that is beyond this world.

    The Master is having fun and playing like when he was 34 years old and that is brilliant 🎸🎸🎸🎸😎👍👌

      I thought the exact same thing! Definitely 30 something! It was thrilling. He'd better not retire! Best guitarist in the world. I love when instruments become accompanying vocals to me.

    I saw him at the Albert Hall earlier in the year. Have to admit that I'd not heard so much of his stuff but knew he was a well legend as a guitar player so went along. When they opened with this, I was absolutely blown away. The whole band was so tight, and his tone on that gibson!!! If you ever come across tickets to see him, buy them!

    Don't think I've seen him play with a capo on before. A while ago I listened to a concert by a young and extremely talented country musician. Much of the set was disappointing because she has bought into the current Nashville sound they call American and because she is much better than her songs indicate. On the other hand Mark never disappoints. Sure some songs are favorites but every song is a precious jewel. I've said that Mark writes songs like Dylan if Dylan wrote songs you could understand. No he won't rest. He'll go home and write the next album. I don't think he know how to not write. Thanks for the post. I don't know if they will release the whole concert. I hope so since it's the last of the series. Peace and love to Master Mark.

      He will write again but I think he will never tour outside UK

    • @Ravenscaller
      @Ravenscaller 4 года назад

      @@garygari439 You may be right. The reason he sits at some concerts is a bad back. A guitar weights around 10 lbs and gets awfully heavy holding it for an hour and a half not to mention the physical effort to play for that long.

      @@Ravenscaller and don't forget he had really serious bike accident in 2003 (had to cancel the tour back then) and he's been suffering since (in 2010 he didn't cancel the tour but was sitting for the whole set due to severe back pain)

      @@ekstradycjaThanks for the comment. Yes I know about his back problems and that electric guitars are get heavy after playing for hours. Probably my most favorite song ever is when he played Piper to the End sitting at the end of the concert.
