Says in the description that Bonnie was opening for Mark Knopfler, no disrespect to Mr Knopfler but I can't imagine Bonnie Rait opening for anyone, for she is the main event. IMHO Guess it was a double headlining concert?
Envious though I may be of those lucky enough to have witnessed such a hot double bill first hand, with Bonnie at the top of her game, at least this consummate performance has been kept for posterity and eternal appreciation..
@Bonnie Raitt Well it's really nice to know that it's a season of love for you, Bonnie. It was so good that you were able to play and film this gig before the shit really hit the fan (with all the rubbish that has ensued - at least you didn't have to make horrible compromises to have people turn up and see you at all). You might get some humor from me, but you certainly wont get any criticism.. recently I spend two days learning that version of Cold Cold Cold you played with Paul B (RIP) and the Feat. There isn't a day goes by that I don't think of and miss Lowell G.. Much Love and Roll'em Easy Bonnie xx
All time Top 100 guitar player, and top 100 singer. I have been trying to think who else could be candidates ... Prince, Jeff Buckley... maybe John Mayer. Bob Weir. George Harrison. I am just thinking outloud as I am sure I am missing several. Not sure if Mark Knopfler is a top 100 singer.
Did she appear with Mark during his set? He did an album a few years back with Emmylou Harris and it would have been a crowd pleaser for her to sing Private Dancer.

If you're as big (or as rich) as Mark Knopfler, you can have someone as big as Bonnie open for you. Bob Dylan had Tom Petty open for him in the 80s.
