Listening to NKC is like wrapping a warm, soft blanket around yourself.
Facts
Ohhhh, nice, that's exactly it 👌👍
Yessssss...a blanket made of velvet and silk
He was definitely comfort food ! ♡
exactly❤
The epitome of male class, elegance and grace with the god given gift of a voice that was pure silk.
bootwhore yes!!, 💯!!! ❤️
Gave me chills listening to him. He's certainly the gold standard
You articulated this perfectly!
Yessss
Plus he was friggin gorgeous.
How can anyone give Nat King Cole a thumbs down.
He was one of the greatest singers of our time.
Facts
Because they do not like him. I like Nat King Cole but not everyone has to like him and it is nothing wrong with that.
Because they are ignorant 😀
@@johncooke2117 right? like not liking the sunshine, flowers, or green grass.
they have no taste
His daughter Natalie was an incredible singer too. She recorded a few “duets” with her dad long after his death. Unfortunately, we have lost Natalie too. Listen to their duet - “When I Fall in Love” or she has a duet with him on “Unforgettable” too.
Natalie's "Unforgettable" is a damn fine album. It's in my all-time top 20.
They are so unforgettable!
no auto-tune, pure talent... one of the greatest voices ever!!!
Absolutely !
You could use his voice to tune the auto-tune.
@@photo161 lol
eoselan7 amen
True, but loads of artists don't use auto tune. It's an odd assumption people make that all/most modern music uses autotune, but that's far from true.
Oh my Goodness! His diction, charm, charisma, perfect vibrato, his voice is pure velvet. I’m glad you are doing this. 🤗
I LOVED him! and this song! I visited my Hospice patient ( I was a Hospice social worker) who was dying of AIDS; she was afraid no one would remember her after she died. I looked at her sister and we both started singing "Unforgettable" to her.............a special memory..... so glad you are discovering his magic....
Beautiful.
I love this. I’m a future social worker(only in my freshman year of college)and I’m considering hospice.
@@LizzyRebecca We need good social workers; hospice social work is honorable.. it's not for everybody... maybe consider hospice social work for your practicum/field internship? All the best to you, Elizabeth!
Beautiful,true life story!
He was one of a few people of color living in Beverly Hills. One year he was invited to a neighbor's christmas party. While attending, he was asked to perform. The people kept demanding more songs. After the party, he submitted a bill for giving a private concert.
That must have gone over well!! It's nice to know that he wouldn't allow folks to take advantage of him.
there he was, supposed to be a guest at a party, to relax and talk and enjoy himself and get to know the others, then they make him go to work! >8-
As he should have.
Mykal White Love this story.
That takes Balls! 🤣😂😅 Good for him!
The man had a golden voice, such a loss when he passed! The duet that Natalie did with him was "unforgettable".
The duet that they did made me cry every time
Yeah her dad had already passed when they did the duet with one of his performances. My absolute favorite of Natalie's songs. I also like her dad's "Straighten up and fly right"
@@cathysnedegar6711 I forgot that one. Do you remember the one that starts, There was a boy, a very strange enchanted boy? I can't remember the title.
@@nestaannjarrett4948 The title is There Was a Boy.
I remember when Natalie Cole did this song. Her voice was so beautiful. She inherited Dad’s gift, I would say.
His voice was like liquid silk. Mmmm magic.
Like smokey butter.
Not enough O's in smooooooooooooooooooth to describe Nat King Cole's voice!
you should hear the remake / dub version with his daughter, Natalie Cole.
Yes. She's an amazing artist in her own right. Her singing WITH her father years after his death was just pure beauty.
ABSOLUTELY!
Agree, it was such a sweet tribute.
Ohhhh yeeeesss!
Add my vote for the duet!
I was raised listening to Nat King Cole, he was my mom’s favourite singer - a true gentleman with a voice like silk
My favorite also
You two make me smile
What A Wonderful World-Louis Armstrong. You'll love it.
Yes Louis Armstrong is amazing
one of the best songs ever performed to perfection.
Yes! My suggestion too. ❤️❤️
Holly Davis Great song and artist!
Yes
One... of my favorites. Nat was a world class pianist as well... Him and his trio were unstoppable. Route 66...
After Nat’s death, his daughter did a rendition of this song with his video, like they are singing together. It is beautiful.
Nat King Cole's When I Fall in Love.
Oh yeah! That's a beauty too.
I remember watching Nat King Cole, on TV, with my parents. This made me cry.😢
@@rebeccas5996 Our family never missed Nat's show. He was gone too soon.
My grandma used to listen to him all time. She had all his records and always said “what a good looking charming man” ❤️
Alexandra De Castro he’s amazing :)
He was a long, tall cool drink of water!
Sydney Jane he will remain forever ❤️
Robin Maclay a forever classic ❤️
In my humble opinion one of the very great voices in American music history.
Absolutely
You're in amazing company Frank Sinatra said Nat King Cole had the greatest voice of all time.
I saw him in Modesto in 1954.
@@joyceepperson5219 I envy you. He was one of the great voice of song. So smooth, like silk.
100% absolutey a fact. Silk.
his voice is like silk, another one by him you should listen to is Mona Lisa
My sister got her name from Mona Lisa by NKC.
One of the greatest voices ever.
O Holy Night, when Nat King Cole sings fall on your knees you practically do.
His Christmas album is the BEST ever. It is the first one I listen to when Thanksgiving is over. And O Holy Night makes me burst into tears as soon as I hear it. Perfection.
@@michellemix4172 Nat at his best... the Christmas stuff. Yeah.
The Christmas Song
Cynthia, I just "had" to go find it. You are right, it gave me the chills. Nat King Cole does sing "Oh Holy Night" like an angel...or my idea of how an angels voice would sound. Beauuuuuutiful!
@@JessieB_ : I collect vintage Christmas music and it is really the best of the season.
Those black men with those voices - Nat King Cole, Johnny Mathis, Jackie Wilson. Smoother than silk.
Lou Rawls... Tobacco Road... Very smooth...
Johnny Hartman!!
Sam Cook, Luther Vandross, Billy Eckstine, the Mills Brothers,. Have you heard Al Hibler and my all time favorite Duke Ellington?
Throw in Johnny Hartman and Mr. B...Billy Eckstine. The only way to describe these singers is smooth, like a good, well aged scotch or bourbon.
@@jeanmariani1496 Lou Rawls. Never got as much acclaim as he deserved.
Nat King Cole reminds me so much of Christmas - he has recorded so many Christmas classics! The Christmas Song is an absolute festive banger!
babybobs6 why this comment sounds like something that my Christmas loving friend would say....
Gemma McCarthy hahahahaha
Yes. Him and Johnny Mathis. Their Christmas albums were staples growing up.
His daughter , Natalie Cole, inherited his gift! Check out her version of this song, or anything from her album “unforgettable”, a tribute album to her father.
This is when people could actually sing...and this was live. Amazing!
One of the best voices you will ever hear, pure class.
I'm so in love with Nat King Cole's voice. He reminds me of a back in the day John Legend. There is a version of this song with his daughter's voice with his. She did a couple of albums recording some of his biggest hits. I loved her versions as well. Her name is Natalie Cole.
Besides his phenomenal voice, let’s not forget what a great Jazz pianist NKC was, he was one of a kind.
Nat was a national treasure, he had his own TV show, he was a great piano player and had a great trio, it just doesn't get ant better, react to "Mona Lisa".
He was the first black man to have his own show on network tv. I'm happy to say I'm old enough to have been
able to have seen it.
During Christmas you should listen to him singing "Chestnuts roasting on an open fire" one of my favorite Christmas songs the way he sang it. SWEET!!
Oh yeah, tones like honey melting
AKA "The Christmas Song" -- written by Mel Tormé, the Velvet Fog.
I know that one because my Grandmother still plays it during the Christmas holiday season. It's a good song.
That is the ONLY version of that song I will listen to or allow in the house !
Lelly T I love Nat King Cole’s version of The Christmas Song, but Mel Tormé’s version is fantastic too.
I love seeing a young man expand his horizons, never stop!
If you wanna get your mind blown by amazing vocal range, check out Jackie Wilson singing Danny Boy...
Nat King Cole's talent and voice made him a star and his beauty, inside and out, has made women fall in love with him for generations
This man's voice was velvet. He was a great pianist a well. His daughter Natalie sang this after his death duetting with this recording. Check that out.
I had the version with his daughter Natalie Cole as my father and daughter dance for my wedding. Such a beautiful song. Love Nat King Cole.
Oh my, I missed this one. Nat King Cole is my all time favorite singer. He was my father's favorite and I have many happy memories listening to him and singing along with my Dad. He wanted to sing Jazz and I think it was Duke Ellington who told him that his gift was ballads (people can look that up to check me). Straighten Up and Fly Right is one of his jazz tunes.
My dads fave too along with Sinatra. So glad I’ve got all his records now.
Nat King Cole Is Class Listen To Him Singing O Holy Night At Christmas His Voice Is The Best
We love the fact that you are open to all kinds of music. That's class.
You can never go wrong with the "Great American Songbook." Nat King Cole voice is so distinctive, so cool. My Christmas is never complete unless I hear a Nat King Cole song. A great crooner, like Crosby.
Another great one by Nat King Cole is "Mona Lisa", and Nat was also a great pianist, asyou will see in the video.
I love Mona Lisa. Beautiful 💖
You HAVE to react to “Stardust” by Nat King Cole!!! It’s been said it’s the greatest TWO songs ever written. You’ll see what I mean. 😉
Nancy Kolwest22 Yes! Stardust!
I agree! Magical
Absolutely! I think it’s his best song!
Mr. silky smooth, velvet voice.
I have always love his voice.
Nat King Cole’s voice was silky smooth and velvet deep. His versions of the songs “Danny Boy” and “The Christmas Song” are classic sweetness like deeply rich dark chocolate.
When anybody else sings "The Christmas Song" it's just a waste of time. Nat King Cole did it, it's done, you will never top his version.
He was called "Mr Silky Smooth" by my mom and Aunts!
I loved your reaction towards the end. The glimmer in your eyes, the soft tender smile and how the music just made your heart smile. Keep doing you hon, have a great weekend.
And he was one of the great jazz pianists as well.
He was pure silk. I'm so glad you are discovering the joy of listening to him.
Pure velvet! Such a smooth and soothing voice. There will never be another to duplicate Nat King Cole’s voice. I have loved his music since I was a kid in the 1950’s. This was the song our daughter chose for her father/daughter dance at her wedding. ❤️
I really appreciate the fact that you’re going back in time to discover these gems. Keep doing your thing bro
He was know'n for his perfect diction and voice of course.
..... and for being a top-class jazz pianist.
Nat was so smooth! I love your willingness to acknowledge that there were great performers from every era. They had an inner energy and communication skills. They didn't just sing a song. They lived through it. Please react to: Sammy Davis Jr. ~ What Kind of Fool Am I? (studio version)! Sammy had a big voice, he could tap, play the drums, act, do impressions and was a really good photographer. Keep Listening! Subscribed!
I'm loving your vibe. I'm a middle aged white woman in the midwest. You tell ME what I should Iisten to. I know I'm missing a lot of really incredible music.
I love his voice!! Just so smooth and wonderful! I am 62 y.o.--been hearing to his music and voice a long time!
So glad to see you do a classic like this one. There is another version where his daughter, (Natalie Cole) sings it in unison with her fathers recording done after he had passed away.
Here is a live version

I saw Natalie on that tour. It was brilliant, beautiful and really exciting to sort of see her sing with her dad.
Love the "duo" with his daughter, Natalie. Rest in Eternal Peace.
Love this version too
@@CharlotteWebb1952 danced to that duet with my father when I got married 💕
Nat King Cole - we always had him playing during Christmas.
Loved hearing nats silky smooth voice again, I believe his best was when I fall in love.
Oh yes!
Imagine the patience it takes to sing that song with the long pauses between the lines of the song. He filled that space with a smile that could light up a room. He was special. Definitely a GOAT.
oner of the greatest singing voices there has ever been
I'm a 67 year old man, watching your reaction videos I feel there's hope for world. Keep up the great work.
Mr. Nat King Cole is smooth as ice and cooler than a Polar Bear, sitin' on an Ice Cube, Sippin' on a Milkshake!!!
Nat King Cole had a voice like butter and he was a true gentleman among men with intelligence, wit, confidence, poise, and grace (an example for all men to follow).
Every time I hear 'Unforgettable', I get misty-eyed and I often say, "God bless you, Nat. God bless you, sir." :)
“Ramblin Rose “ by him is really nice !
Proud of you !💙💯
Nat king Cole when I fall in love Omg the chills man Keep reacting dude 👍👌
Yes it’s a masterpiece ✌🏽✌🏽
I've loved his voice since the first time I heard it.
His TV came on NBC in 1956 until 1957. In 1957 I was 5 years old. But, I do remember watching his TV show with my mom and my dad. I will never forget this song. I still makes me melt, and I'm a guy.
I loved “ My True Carrie Love” and “That Sunday That Summer” those Nat King Cole songs came out when I was a teen. I remember sitting on a DSR (Detroit Street Ryders)bus, heading home from downtown Detroit on a cold winter day in February with my transistor radio and hearing that Nat King Cole died. I cried.
I think you would live Otis Redding. A Change is Gonna Come or Sitting on the Dock of the Bay.
Yeah, but gotta do Sam Cook for A Change is Gonna Come
Such a handsome man with incredible talent. I love how his daughter, Natalie Cole, redid this song as a duet with him YEARS after his death. They are singing these beautiful duets together in heaven now
One of the best. Sooo smooth. My mom sang one of his songs to my dad every night. They were married 68 years and died 3 months apart. We played that song at their funerals. The song was “I love you for sentimental reasons. Might check that one out
Can't believe he's never heard this. CLASSIC this is talent not a voice hidden by instruments or distracted by dancers
I'm 48 and I hadn't listened to the entire song til now. He is 22, sooo it's believable 🤷♀️.
Where would he had heard this song . His mom is probably 42 yrs old, gma 62 yrs old( Motown era) that is great gma era 82 yrs
Where would he hear this music unless his grandma played it? It is wonderful what this young man is doing!
@@aloeleaf9789 When I was 23, I purchased the entire collection of Nat King Cole recordings from a late night advertisement on TV...that was in 1979
@@skynebula11 when was the last time you saw Nat King cole album or itune for sale 🧐.
"Mona Lisa" and "Lazy Hazy Crazy Days of Summer"
Your reactions are priceless....
Yes Nat was crazy talented and the two songs you suggested are my favourites ! Use to watch hitTV. show! He was my favorite singer next to Elvis !
And "Nature Boy"
Mona lisa!
Louis Prima & Keely Smith
That Old Black Magic
Received the very first Grammy in 1959 for best performance by a vocal group
Just joined from the UK....grew up with a heap of these songs. Love the reaction of you guys
Song is just a classic. I remember when I was a little girl listening to it...my dad had the album and we would put it on the turntable and listen for hours.
He wasn't called the king for nothing. What an incredible voice. One of the all time greats!
LOVE Nat King Cole! As a little girl in the 60s I used to watch his television show with my parents. What a class act. Love his version of the Christmas hymn "O Holy Night" - no one, and I mean NO ONE can top Nat King Cole's version. When I hear it I get so nostalgic I cry.
Nat King Cole's voice was like a hot knife cutting through butter....sooooo smooth! My heart just melts when I hear his voice. I'm 38 and have been a HUGE fan of any type of music my whole life! You guys are so awesome! Thank you for putting multiple smiles on my face....daily ❤🤗😍
He was the epitome of elegance. Such an incredible voice.
You should listen to some songs by his daughter Natalie Cole.
Oh...try some Lou Rawls...”You’ll Never Find Another Love Like Mine”....or “Natural Man”....
or " Lady Love "
Yes, love Lou Rawls!
Some of Lou's older music is pretty great.....I'm 56 and have just discovered some early tunes...Really good stuff.
... or Tobacco Road!
For sure!
Thank you for playing these legends, these iconic talents that are unforgettable. 1957 does sound like a long time ago. I was 9 y/o listening to Nat King Cole. I love your reactions and your channel. Keep shining and letting your heart be so open. ❤️
Your channel is a time capsule for me. My parents used to listen to Nat King Cole in the 1950's. Thanks for sharing.
"You Send Me" Sam Cooke original and Aretha Franklin did I really good cover
You'd also love to hear some Norah Jones. Shes from the 2000s; but her voice is ageless slight modern chill vibe will the oldies soul and cadence
Sam Cooke is awesome
I always loved Norah Jones especially "Come Away with Me".
I've never watched Nat King Cole sing before, and let me just say: WOW. Mesmerizing! Unbelievable.
I adore that instrumentation makes you so emotional. As a violinist, your reactions make me practice more, it means everything to me to see your reactions.
Music is everything and we must encourage younger generations to pick up instruments and make beautiful music together. Music is the great equalizer on this Earth. ❤️
He opens his mouth, and poor gold comes out. Magnificent voice, clear, and pure as clear water. Wonderful singer, and man. He may be gone, but never forgotten.
I’m a middle school chorus teacher and I love that you are loving these classics. I often play them for my students. Keep it up.
Chills I can't lie, love old school music!! Love the version Natalie King Cole did👏
Brings tears to my eyes to witness such grace while being effortlessly cool. Grew up with my Dad playing his music, loved his Christmas album. Still slow dance to this with my hubby....it's timeless. 😽🖤
He sounded so smooth...and background orchestra just complimented his sound so perfectly. The song actually brings tears to my eyes.
I love how open you are to these old classics. I’m enjoying watching you.
Oh my God, that was good! I actually teared up!
Love this, my folks always had a stack of albums playing and this man was one of our favorites. Love this young man’s perspective, teaching and sharing
Nat was my dad’s favorite singer. We used to watch his tv show every week. Grew up listening to him and remember when he died, I was so sad. I still love him. I lived Natalie too. Both died too young. Glad you appreciate him.
This takes me back to when I was 16 and in love. This was our song...so sentimental.
This was my parents' song. Always makes me remember them with both a tear and a smile.
Nice to see you appreciating it.
My daddy used to dance me around the living room and sing along with NKC. My heart is so full of love every time I hear NKC. 💖💖💖💖💖
Your making me cry I LOVE NKC now my whole family loves you
Nat King Cole. He's a legend. Great song. Love this song.
Nat King Cole had the smoothest voice, he was one of my faves.
Smoooooooooooth. One of the great great voices of ANY time! And so handsome, too. Nice to have it ALL!
His daughter, Natalie, was a great singer too. They were able to splice this with her singing the same song with her dad. He died before she became famous. Isn't it wonderful when the techies can do this for people like her, so she could at last sing with her dad?
Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy.
Love this song! My daddy sings this to my mom. 40 years this year! Love this man and this song! I cry every time I hear this!
