I knew Michael.. He'd tell you to sing to yourself, play what you hear in your head..that's why his :"Phrasing" is what we all talked about back in the day!
I love his Blues on A Westside and Blues for Barry ... and I get it .. he at times . heard some BB in his head 😊
John LGN has really nailed that Mike Bloomfield phrasing ... well done!
Takes me back a hundred years or so. So good to remember Bloomfield style. This is the stuff I want to learn. Thanks!
Loved the style, miss the guy... Thank you for remembering... !
Please, more mike bloomfield, better yet, a whole dvd of a bloomfield's style would be awesome!
😁🖒
pro trick : you can watch movies at flixzone. I've been using it for watching lots of of movies recently.
@Ezekiel Gordon Yea, been using Flixzone for since december myself =)
Great lesson! Bloomfield lives on!!
yes more bloomfield please !!
Blues on the Westside....great stuff!
Very, very well done John. Many thanks.
Thanks John, love this style
What a gorgeous fretboard.
Well done! definitely helps me with my blues playing.
Cool! Thanks John! Definitely will be working on this.
Wow this was a great lesson! You not only nailed Mike's tone but his feel as well!
Absolutely Brilliant. Im probably the only one on the tread that actually saw Bloomfield live when he was in his prime. You do him justice indeed. After the the first bar I thought it was the reincarnation. I will be buying a few months as a result of this teaser........
Thanks a lot! His feel is difficult to get a hold of more so than other players.
About my favorite player/instructor. Play Like videos are spot on!! Bought several DVD’s. Soon taking plunge on all access
Thanks buddy!
Nice to see young folks playing this stuff!
Great playing!
great phrasing!!!
Thank you! More videos out there covering his tele days which are fucking awesome but there’s something about his burst playing that really gets me. One of my main influences along with Green. The live Fillmore concert with nick imo is Michael at his best, along with super session. A pity he couldn’t finish the entire album due to his awful insomnia. You really capture his style quite authentically man, I can finally incorporate his style into my own without totally ripping the man off. Very important how you showed his use of tone and volume controls “that’s not the sound that’s just the notes.”, absolutely! Loved how you demonstrated how he softly picks as well. Michael was able to alternate between whisper and insanely loud and piercing volumes because he knew how to control every part of the les Paul, same deal with Peter Green. It’s very difficult to play effectively and without slicing the audience when you have a twin or super wide open haha! Can’t thank you enough for this video, more Bloomfield would be great along with some Peter green slow blues. Peace ☮️
Check out Don’t Throw Your Love on Me So Strong on Live Adventures... that’d be a killer one to do
Bloomfield kicked ass.
I really love the blues style of Mike Bloomfield. My favorite Record is: Super Session with Bloomfield, Kooper and Stills🙂What a freaking cool Jam Record😃
Blues on a Westside!
YOU FUCKIN NAILED BLUES ON THE WESTSIDE!!!
You Nailed it! The phrasing and your tips involving amp and guitar volume show how he achieved that sweet sound! Meanwhile, some guy from Reverb did a Mike B. Lesson and it sounded more like Clapton - he also played a tele. Needless to say Mike played a tele in the mid 60's and gravitated back to that guitar in the 70's. But this guy did not sound like Mike. You do. Thanks!
Hi, great display of Bloomfield's electric guitar style. Don't forget how good of an acoustic player he was. Can you do a lesson re:Johnny Winter's song "Memory Pain" rhythm progression tutorial?thx.
nice, thanks.
Muito bom!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes!!! Please more post Butterfield Bloomfield! Check out Carmalita Shuffle!
Oh my godness !!!
Great stuff. Any tips on how to get the timing right?
Awesome!! Do you have any vids on Snowy White's style? Midnight Blues is one of my favorite jams.
Thanks! Do not have any lessons on Snowy White
Great lesson! And great tone!
Please inform me if you pleased about les paul model pickups and amp. I like very much your neck pickup which is no muddy and juicy crystal clear.
Thanks! Gibson R7 with Burstbuckers and 66 Fender Vibrolux
Mike was too good for this awful world. He tried to save me from monsters, will always be my hero. 💔🥀✡️ there wasn't a " Kristy" liars.
This sounds like “Blues on a west side” probably is it
Lick # 1 Not Chuck Berry T-Bone Walker! Walker was one of Chuck's influences. Many blues guitarists use this T-bone thing: Hendrix, Clapton, Green, Page, etc
"same type of toon"
isnt the opening just blues on a west side
You're not even remotely in the ballpark with Mike Bloomfield, dude. You are simply run-of-the-mill. Keep yourselves in your run-of-the-mill club.
Way too difficult for a beginner.
This video is not for beginners.
to much talking . Why don't you just play the run over and over a few times.

@@LearningguitarnowPersonally the explanations help me. Thank you. 👍
Where minus and tabs? It is bad form of teaching.
So lame. “I never heard this guy but you say I can charge you $$ to pretend to”. Your playing lacks dynamics and soul, but I admire your preying on the unenlightened, like a church.
lol
@@Learningguitarnow - I don't particularly like dissing people the way the commenter who attacked you did; however some of what he said was correct. You have your basic blues chops down, regardless of the issue of dynamics and soul, but you don't sound at all like Mike Bloomfield. His playing exhibited a unique attack and phrasing, not to mention tone, which were instantly recognizable the minute you heard the first couple of notes. Since you openly admit to not having listened to much of Bloomfield's playing in the past, I suggest you take the time to do so and then try to make an honest assessment.
@Learning Guitar Now - for example, here's a slow blues by Bloomfield and Barry Goldberg - ruclips.net/video/i0GMVtGww-Y/видео.html . Do you really think your playing sounds like this?
Gary Kober I’m curious to see what you can do?
Bob Krause7 upload a video so I can see what you can play
