You mention how Bella is overplaying Ellie by asking too many questions and stuff. This is where the gameplay really helps. In between cutscenes in the game this is what Ellie does during their journey. Ellie annoys Joel for a while and has moments like in the hotel being a kid and goofing around. I think Bella is doing a great job.
Yeah exactly. Some of the best moments are just walking or exploring and she and Joel are just talking.
I have such a hard time rooting for a teenaged girl with an underbite, beady eyes and such an unlikable personality. I've played the 1st L.O.U. 7 times and it just bugs me that the show runners couldn't cast someone like Maisie Williams or even a Jenna Ortega type who you could get behind because they don't have complete resting bitch face.

Anna Torv is great! First fell in love with her in Fringe( one of the most underrated sci-fi shows ever) then later in Mindhunter. Sad to see her go after only 2 episodes but so far this show is killing it!
I was into Anna Torv when she was on Fringe.
What annoyed me about Tess's death is that , first off, Joel never stocked up on grenades and ammo and grab a new gun they had enough time to grab some stuff. Secondly, why didnt she just grab a grenade instead of a lighter? i know it added to the suspense and that kiss scene to gross eople out. but it just irked me a bit. Other than that I think its really great as a show.

Don't forget that she was no longer completely lucid by the time those grenades hit the floor. She was barely keeping it together in those last moments. Her hand was shaking up and down + left and right so bad that she struggled to make use of the lighter as an ignition source.
Granted, I watched the show on a 65" OLED. Had I used one of my laptops instead, I'm certain I would have missed numerous subtle mannerisms evoked by Joel, Tess, and Elle throughout various points during episode 2.
Couldn't recommend the podcast enough. Craig Mazin is unbelievably well spoken, and really understands the source material
I played the last of us for the first time when I was 16 years old and was utterly floored beyond my own emotional maturity to say the least and let me say; as somebody who has a very very fond heartbreaking and bittersweet connection with this game my jaw was dropped to the floor and the show truly had me speaking OUT LOUD to the tv comments about how exceptionally done it is. And it’s not just the loyalty to the game that makes it so good either. This show has some of the most impressive and beautiful sets and excellently blends the real world environments with the CGI. It’s an actual 10/10
That scene in the hotel lobby with the skeleton was the biggest jump for me as well. Such a good show, and as much as I would like to binge it, this is going to be great to dissect week to week.
It gets better and better. Even the changes are great! Just enough to keep those familiar with the source material still guessing!
Additionally, I enjoy the backstory/flashbacks used before the intro.
In the game she's killed my Fedra who were coming to investigate the shootout they walked into.
HBO makes the best shows... and don't try me with that Velma shit either

I love this episode!! I like how all the changes seem to be needed and add something to the story and not lazy writing.
Loving this show. As a guy who worked in video game production for years, I agree it is a huge triumph for adapting a game to a linear medium. Also, the sound design is 100%. Headphones recommended.

7:03 Frankly Human being are danger to themselves in real life too and it doesn't even need to be a case where the world is ending. Plenty of people will happily trample over other to get a useless kitchen appliance if its told to be a discount, imagine what they do when shit really hits the fan.

Shows have been comin for the movies. Its not a fair fight though. When givin the same talent and $ throughout the whole production. Actors, directors, writers, producer's, set and the dozens if other ppl that make this shyt work movies don't stand a chance. 2 hrs? No where near enough time to tell even a fraction of the visual story, character development, world building etc.... that a seasons worth much less the 5, 8, 10 seasons a great or even good show TV series can do. TV series such as Peaky Blinders, Better Call Saul, TWD, GOT, HOTD, Yellowstone, 1883, 1924 and many others have already taken over movies for me. I've preferred a good series for a few yrs now. Once the transfer of all the A List ppl and money went to TV it was over for movies being king. 2 hrs is just not enough time. Its not even a fair fight when the ppl and $ is equal. B like if I boxed a prime Mike Tyson. I lost b4 getting in the ring

The cold open was fire. A far better episode. I will miss Tess. I love Anna Torv and will miss her on this show.
And the little girl when she was doing her best to stay quiet. You can see the dread on her face, trying to be so quiet that she even keeps her breathing shallow

This HBO series will take some time to get traction with the main stream. It took breaking bad and game of thrones a few seasons to become cultural phenomenon.
Amazing how some grimy make up, not washing her hair for a week can turn a beautiful lesbian Actress Anna Torv into a disheveled midwestern post apocalyptic scavenger. I was worried this show would fall prey to Walking Dead pacing. So far it was not disappointed. I too, more of an X-box guy. Didn’t get sucked into the Lat of Us game. So far, I’m invested.
Anna Torv is straight - she is an actress who has played lesbians. Just like Cate Blanchette.
I saw the first episode but was not interested at all. It seemed like cutscenes: The series. If they had something new to contribute it would be fine, but so far it seems a longer more boring version of the game and honestly I hope hollywood dont pick up on this trend.
