Today I had the honor of meeting an old, broken up, homeless gentleman. As he talked about his physical and mental challenges I literally saw my own reflection in his eyes. I need him like he needs me. And we prayed for healing. For both of us.
Just read the Switchfoot email announcing the new music video release: “When we can’t find community, we settle for tribalism instead… ‘beloved’ is a song that attempts to see “you” as you are, rather than as an “it” that can be commoditized or used.” I love that. Couldn’t agree more. We need this so desperately in our country, and in our world. Thank you for giving voice to this & for singing love into our hearts.
Until ableds start masking, I will always be forcibly turned into an "it." I'm not seen as myself when I'm viewed as expendable for the petty convenience of the able-bodied.
I saw them in concert back in high school (graduated in 2001) they were not the headliner as they were up and coming. It was The O.C. Supertones, Relient K, and Switchfoot. Been a fan since that concert.
My favorite band since 2000. I was blessed to see them in concert years ago. God definitely use their music to help me through tough times. Now my 15 year old and 11 year old likes Swithfoot too! God bless you all

Man, last Thursday, there was Red Hot Chilli Peppers playing in a stadium here in Sydney and Switchfoot playing in a small venue. Guess which one I attended? Hahaha

My favorite album of 2021. They did it again. This is probably my favorite album since the earlier days because it does the same thing, looks at the world, and says, “hey, we’re over here surfing switchfoot, won’t you join us?”
'Beloved' is my 1B favorite off Interobang. 'The Hard Way' is 1A, because I remember singing along to 'Fix You' and thinking the same things he's singing about when I was a teenager.
Wonderful. What I love about beloved (and interrobang in general) is, that the music has this analogue vintage vibe - which is also perfecly captured in the visuals. Love it.
Such an awesome song. Just recently started to listen to them again. I remember very clearly going to a concert in Guatemala City when I was way younger and feeling a great sense of being so comfortable enjoying their performance. This song gives that exact same level of being so comfortable while listening to them! Switchfoot you've impacted my life in so many positive ways. Sometimes even bringing encouragement with my faith and path. Thank you for all the impact you have

I also have a follow up, Beloved single has really gorgeous song production and mixing, like switchfoot of old, such a surprising and welcome relief and re-arrival of the band sound, which has been missing recently, most notably in the Intero album where the album production and sound mix were most unlike switchfoot. Who knows who produced this single?
